Foreword

Research in the field of medicine is constantly supplementing our understanding of the origin and development of diseases. However, we still do not know how to use the knowledge we already have to fight numerous diseases and avoid premature death (which we so often have to deal with). The dangers of smoking were talked about back in those days when the connection between the mortality of doctors and their addiction to smoking was first revealed. It turned out that lung cancer is almost always associated with smoking.

It has long been the duty of the therapist to encourage patients to stop smoking and lead a healthy lifestyle in general. Unfortunately, many doctors do not have enough time and energy for this work. The authority of doctors is not as great as the influence of cigarette advertising, which is primarily aimed at young people.

I was introduced to Allen Carr by a patient who once surprised me with the news that there was an easy way to quit smoking. Since then, I have recommended Allen Carr's EASY STAY TO STOP SMOKING to all my patients and have seen the success of the technique astonishing. Interest in it prompted me to personally explore the features of this approach.

Having helped many who want to quit smoking, Allen Carr has transformed his experience into an effective technique that is also useful for those who want to get rid of excess weight - now many people are concerned about this problem. In studying Allen Carr's approach to such a serious subject, I was surprised to find myself in an almost involuntary desire to adopt his wisdom. Positive results were not long in coming: now it is easier for me to move, for example, on the tennis court, I feel more alert and healthy. I am sincerely happy with this change, although I had never worried about a few extra pounds in the waist area before. Your acquaintance with the book of Allen Carr will be a revelation, a true discovery, you will see for yourself how easy it is to solve the problem of excess weight.

Easy way to lose weight

This book, strictly speaking, should have been titled "The easy way to weigh exactly what you want." But such a name would be too long.

If nothing human is alien to you, then you are very likely worried about being overweight. However, please note that my method, which I will refer to as "WEIGHT LOSS EASY", is equally effective for those who want to lose weight and for those who want to gain weight. Observation of WEIGHT - and this is the essence of the matter - is of secondary importance compared to the main goal of the method. This goal is utterly selfish and simple - just TO ENJOY LIFE!

But is it possible to enjoy life if you constantly feel lethargic, tired and deprived, worried and tormented by remorse for the damage and suffering caused to yourself, both mental and physical - all these consequences of being overweight?

You probably already know that I made a name for myself a few years ago by devising not only a simple, but also an enjoyable way to quit smoking, suitable for any smoker. I am now considered the world-renowned specialist in nicotine addiction recovery. Smokers who have used my method and figured out how it works call me and my students the only real experts on the subject.

I later discovered that the same method (with one notable exception) was just as effective in curing any addiction that was primarily psychological in nature, including alcoholism and addiction to other types of drugs. Many aspirants to the title of experts on such addictions consider addiction to certain substances and the physical symptoms that accompany abstinence from them to be the main problem. Therefore, they are trying to solve the problem in a chemical way - by selecting substitutes. In fact, the problem has a simple and easy psychological solution.

It is well known that today a billion-dollar business is being built on the problem of combating obesity. Every week, a new celebrity advertises a videotape, a book or an exercise machine, a set of exercises or a completely new diet that will miraculously solve your weight problems. I am convinced that there is a very strong physical and psychological connection between smoking and nutrition, and the similarities between quitting smoking and losing weight are even more pronounced. Both the smoker and the dieter suffer from a sense of impending schizophrenia. In their brains, there is a continuous struggle for and against with varying success. The smoker's arguments, on the one hand, - "it's a dirty, disgusting habit, it kills me, costs me a fortune and enslaves me", with another - "this is my pleasure, my support, my company." The dieter convinces himself: "I'm fat, lethargic, unhealthy, look terrible and feel even worse." And then he replies to himself: “But how I love to eat!” Therefore, you have the right to assume that I simply clung to a profitable business and now cash in on my own reputation.

I assure you, this conclusion is infinitely far from the truth. On the contrary, for a long time the very notable exception in my work that I mentioned earlier was weight regulation. For years I was of the opinion that my method was not suitable for tracking weight - but, as it turned out, I was wrong.

And on my reputation, I could well get rich in other ways. I received dozens of offers to advertise a variety of products, including those for weight loss. And I rejected all these offers, and not because I am fabulously rich and do not need additional financial income: I just value my reputation and am ready to defend it as fiercely as a lioness protects her cubs. Also, I've never seen an ad featuring a famous person that didn't look fake. I officially declare: "EASY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT" is not an advertisement for other people's ideas. Like "EASY WAY TO STOP SMOKING" is my method. I was convinced of the effectiveness of the method of quitting smoking even before I tried it. Soon you will see that "EASY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT" will work before you finish this book.

Most people put on weight when they quit smoking, and I lost almost 13 kg in six months. I combined regular physical activity with the F-Plan diet. I understood that I could not do without willpower and discipline, and nevertheless this process gave me pleasure. In the early stages, it is very similar to volitional attempts to quit smoking. If your determination is unshakable, a sense of self-righteous masochism does not allow you to succumb to temptation. While getting rid of excess weight was the main goal of my life, everything went like clockwork. The trouble was that, just like with the volitional method of quitting smoking, my resolve gradually began to weaken: using any excuse, I abandoned both exercise and diet, and the weight began to grow again.

Especially for those who are familiar with my method of combating smoking, I want to clarify one common misconception. Many people get the impression that this technique is based on willpower and positive thinking (yes, I am a strong-willed and positive thinker). But it's not. I trained myself in positive thinking and developed willpower long before I developed this method. Something else surprises me: why so many smokers, whose willpower was clearly inferior to mine, managed to quit smoking exclusively by will, but I could not.

My positive thinking is dictated by common sense. Thinking positively means leading a simpler and more enjoyable life. But even this did not help me either to quit smoking or to get rid of at least ten extra pounds!

The main idea that runs through all of Allen Carr's books is the eradication of fear. His talent is manifested in the ability to save people from phobias and anxieties that prevent them from fully enjoying life. This talent is clearly evidenced by Carr's books - bestsellers "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking", "The Only Way to Quit Smoking Permanently", "The Easy Way to Lose Weight", "How to Help Your Teenager Quit Smoking", "How to Overcome Your Fear of Flying".

A successful accountant, Allen Carr was a heavy smoker. He smoked a hundred cigarettes a day until, in 1983, after numerous futile attempts to get rid of nicotine addiction, he developed a technique that the whole world dreamed of: an easy way to quit smoking. Allen Carr has created a network of clinics around the world and enjoys a reputation as a specialist, extremely successful in ridding smokers of addiction. His books have been translated into more than twenty languages, and there are video, audio and computer versions of his methodology.

Allen Carr's clinics have helped tens of thousands of patients. Here, with a probability of 95%, they guarantee healing from nicotine addiction or return money in case of failure. A complete list of clinics is given at the end of the book. If you need help, we invite you to contact one of them. Corporate services allow companies to painlessly and effectively implement a policy of complete smoking cessation of their employees.

Easy way to lose weight

This book, strictly speaking, should have been titled "The easy way to weigh exactly as much as you want". But such a name would be too long.

But is it really possible to enjoy life if you constantly feel lethargic, tired and deprived, worried and tormented by remorse for the damage and suffering caused to yourself, both mental and physical, all these consequences of being overweight?

The smoker's arguments, on the one hand, - "it's a dirty, disgusting habit, it kills me, costs me a fortune and enslaves me", with another - "this is my pleasure, my support, my company". The dieter convinces himself: “I am fat, lethargic, unhealthy, look terrible and feel even worse”. And then he replies to himself: “But how I love to eat!” Therefore, you have the right to assume that I simply clung to a profitable business and now cash in on my own reputation.

F-Plan is a diet developed by Australian scientists, the main principle of which is the consumption of a large amount of protein, a moderate amount of carbohydrates and a small amount of fat.

Positive thinking means setting - “I know that I am acting stupid, so with the help of willpower and discipline I will pull myself together and put an end to stupid actions.” I have no doubt that this tactic has helped many people quit smoking and start watching their weight. One can only be happy for them. But for me personally, it has always proved ineffective and, most likely, for you too, otherwise you would not be reading this book now.

No, I didn't keep smoking because of weak will or negative thinking. Getting rid of the habit was hampered by confusion, permanent schizophrenia, which relentlessly pursues smokers until they quit smoking. On the one hand, they hate being smokers, and on the other hand, without a cigarette they are not able to enjoy life and cope with its trials.

Exactly the same love-hate relationship connects overweight people with food. I stopped smoking not because I thought positively, but because I was done with the confusion in my thoughts. I understood why smoking was such a sophisticated swindle for me and why the feeling that it helps me cope with stress and enjoy life turned out to be just an illusion. As soon as this understanding came to me, the fog cleared, and with it the schizophrenia and my desire to smoke disappeared. No willpower or positive thinking was needed:

It is very difficult to convince a person who has ever tried to use willpower to go on a diet or quit smoking that willpower is not necessary to achieve a result. You can be a strong-willed person or not be one. In any case, it is absolutely necessary to understand: "EASY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT" does not require the possession of willpower. I'll try to explain this with an example.

Let's say you're in a POW camp. At the next examination, the doctor reprimands you: “It's damp here, you risk catching pneumonia. Not only that, you are obviously exhausted. Have you thought about how much anxiety you cause to loved ones? They are afraid that you will bring yourself to the grave. Think carefully: would it not be wiser to return home? We would consider that the doctor is mocking us.

But this is exactly what a doctor looks like, lecturing a smoker about the dangers of smoking, and constantly overeating a patient about the dangers of being overweight. A prisoner of war, a smoker and an overeater, even without a doctor, are aware of all the side effects of the situation in which they find themselves. And since the discomfort is experienced not by anyone, but by these people themselves, it is logical to assume that they know more about this discomfort than the person who talks about it from the outside.

Yes, willpower, discipline and determination can help prisoners escape from the camp, smokers successfully quit smoking, and people prone to overeating learn to control their weight. Undoubtedly, thousands of people have already succeeded. I take my hat off to them: they deserve congratulations and praise. But now we will not talk about them, but about those captives who did not manage to escape, despite all their willpower. Such a prisoner of war does not need lectures, but the key to a prison cell. Exactly in the same position are those who smoke and are overweight. The last thing the overweight person needs is a lecture in a patronizing tone that malnutrition leads to loss of self-esteem, shortness of breath, lethargy, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, heartburn, stomach ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure, increased cholesterol content, diseases of the heart, arteries, veins, stomach, intestines, kidneys, liver and other internal organs, not to mention many other problems.

Smokers much more need someone to give them the key and make it easier to escape from nicotine captivity. I offer them this key. That is why my technique is so effective. Thanks to it, any smoker can be convinced that it is very easy to get rid of the addiction of smoking - hence the name "EASY WAY TO QUIT SMOKING".

And overweight people need to believe that weight control is easy. Now I have a key for them, which is called: "EASY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT."

It can be argued that it is incorrect to compare smokers and overweight people with prisoners of war, because the latter were captured due to the fault of forces beyond their control, while no one forced smokers and overeating people to acquire these bad habits. It was in their power to correct the situation, and if they failed, then only themselves were to blame.

However, in general, the comparison is correct. Fans of lecturing in a patronizing tone are convinced of our stupidity. We, too, consider ourselves stupid, because we know as well as they do that we have created this problem for ourselves. However, only the one who smokes or is overweight is completely stupid, knowing full well that he is ruining his life, but does not try to change anything. And the one who tries is not stupid at all. Perhaps you are one of those people. Do you consider yourself weak? But what difference does it make that in this case you are both a prisoner and a jailer? The only reason you failed and didn't get out of the prison you imprisoned yourself in is because you just don't know how to escape it.

If you were stupid, you wouldn't be reading this book right now. You are reading it because you are desperate to escape from prison.

Speaking quite frankly, the prison in which smokers and overweight people languish is not their doing.

Willpower is not required

Have I set myself the task of inventing an easy way to lose weight? Not! Nor did he seek to develop an easy way to quit smoking. On the contrary, I learned how to get rid of nicotine addiction when I had already come to terms with the fact that I would never get rid of it. I confess frankly: as in many other great discoveries, luck played the main role here, and not my talents and abilities. And I reasoned that if the problem of excess weight had such an easy solution, someone would have found it long ago. I took my luck as winning the lottery. If you win once, you are incredibly lucky, but expecting a second win is hopeless stupidity!

So, how did I find a way to keep track of weight? Largely due to the natural development of those ideas that led to the solution of the problem of smoking. For most of my life, I have accepted banal claims about smoking. It never occurred to me to question them—for example, that smokers smoke because they feel like it, that they like the taste of tobacco, that smoking is just a habit. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to reveal the absurdity of these statements. A little introspection is enough. Freed from believing in allegedly reliable facts, I found myself doubting everything related to smoking, eating habits, and so on.

We were subjected to indoctrination, brainwashing - and society as a whole, and doctors, and other people from medicine (nutritionists in particular). We have been led to believe apparently absurd myths about eating habits, and in most cases diametrically opposed to the real facts.

Dr. Bray, the author of the foreword to this book, was initially surprised to learn that I had no medical training. And he is not alone. And I soon realized that this lack of knowledge in medicine was not only a huge plus for me in working with smokers, but also gave me the same advantages in finding a solution to the problem of excess weight. The doctor emphasizes the physical harm caused by smoking and malnutrition, but smokers and overweight people do not smoke and overeat because these activities can ruin them, just as a prisoner of war does not stick around in a camp specifically to spoil his own health. . The only effective solution is to eliminate the causes that make us smoke or overeat. This is my method.

Lack of medical training gives me another distinct advantage. I don't need to look down on you, use medical terminology or flaunt scientific knowledge. I am the same as you. I was in your position, tormented by the same doubts, irritated just like you. You will not need any willpower or positive thinking. But the solution is so simple and obvious that you, like me, will be surprised, not understanding how you could have been fooled for so many years.

Three facts helped me realize that the problem of maintaining weight can be solved as easily and simply as the problem of smoking - you just need to understand what its essence is.

First, I gave up the belief that my technique was not suitable for the fight against excess weight. What makes me think that in case of weight loss it is ineffective? The fundamental rule of smoking cessation is that quitting completely is easy, but reducing or strictly metering nicotine intake requires incredible willpower and self-discipline. If you apply this principle to nutrition, very soon you will solve not only the problem of excess weight, but all your difficulties at once.

What helped me overcome this psychological barrier and comprehend the truth? What actually created the barrier? Nicotine and normal hunger produce the same unpleasant, sucking feeling of emptiness. Smokers and eaters experience the same pleasure in satisfying their hunger.

However, the similarity between smoking and nutrition is only an appearance. In fact, they are completely opposite in nature. Inextricably linked with smoking is the craving for poison, which will eventually kill you if you don't conquer it, and with eating, the craving for food necessary to sustain life. The process of eating food not only gives real pleasure, but also satisfies hunger, while quenching the thirst for nicotine is the inhalation of disgusting smoke, its penetration into the lungs, and each cigarette does not quench this thirst, but increases it.

The problem was seen primarily in the fact that it is impossible to completely refuse food. Not surprisingly, I found my method unsuitable for two seemingly similar but actually quite different activities.

That was my main mistake - I compared food with smoking. But nutrition is not a disaster, but a wonderful, very pleasant pastime that is available to us throughout our lives. If I had to compare smoking to anything, it would be to the same harmful, destructive way to kill time as

Binge eating!

I have never considered the processes of eating and overeating in isolation from each other. For me, overeating was just a natural and common thing - probably because I really liked to eat. Paradoxically, smokers are convinced that the root of their problems is love for the process of smoking. But in reality they are wrong. They only think they enjoy smoking because they feel miserable and deprived when faced with a smoking ban. In the same way, overeating people are convinced that their problem is that they love to eat too much. But even if you feel miserable and deprived because you are not allowed to eat, this does not mean that you like to overeat.

People like to eat, but not to overeat. From overeating, first indigestion and heartburn, a feeling of bloat, lethargy and apathy, and ultimately excess fat, psychological and physical discomfort.

Overeating has another serious drawback. Remorse and other emotional suffering negate all the pleasure that food delivers.

From the very beginning, it is important to clearly distinguish between normal eating and overeating. Normal food is a great pleasure. Overeating also creates inconvenience during the absorption of food, and after it. And regular overeating is a direct path to disease and premature death.

Overeating people are well aware of these sad facts, but like smokers who believe they actually enjoy smoking, they are convinced that the pleasure of overeating will compensate for all the consequences. Further I will explain that this is a deceptive impression. Overeating people are unhappy during and after overeating. That is why you are reading my book. Accept this hard fact!

From this, the questions logically follow: “What is overeating? How do I know if I'm overeating or eating right? Alas, one use of the word “overeating” is enough to give the impression that your problem is an abundance of food, therefore, you need to limit yourself to it. And if I try to assure you that it's not the quantity, but the quality of the food, you will surely come to the conclusion that your favorite foods and dishes will be forbidden to you. No, by following my simple guidelines, you can eat as much of your favorite food as you want without gaining weight. But about recommendations later. Both my method of getting rid of nicotine addiction and "EASY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT" are like advice on how to get out of the maze. It is very important to give them in a specific order.

I have already said above that three facts led me to the discovery of the secret of ideal weight. The first and most important of these I owe

Allen Carr is the man who managed to turn his method of getting rid of nicotine addiction into an "empire" of clinics for those who want to quit smoking. However, the enterprising Briton does not stop there, and following the anti-smoking technique, he publishes the book "The Easy Way to Lose Weight", which becomes a bestseller.

What is it, an easy way to lose weight, in the vision of Allen Carr? The author emphasizes that in his methodology a huge part is devoted to psychological work with the subconscious: in some reviews, it is directly stated about a certain hypnotic effect of the book, which "sets" for weight loss. However, those who think about a magic method like frame 25 will be fundamentally wrong - Allen Carr's easy way to lose weight does not involve passive participation, but rather makes you actively work on your habits and addictions.

Psychological aspects of the book "Easy way to lose weight"

For those who sincerely want to lose weight, Carr has developed several recommendations of a psychological nature, which are designed to make it easier for a person on the path to proper nutrition.

Here are the main ones:

1. Try to imagine yourself as a thin person, with a toned athletic body and a beautiful slim figure.

According to Allen Carr, losing weight is easier with a specific motivation. In his book, he convinces people that having tried eating differently and feeling light and energetic, none of them will want to return to their old habits;

2. Open your mind and listen to yourself.

An easy way to lose weight is to open your mind to new information and get rid of old stereotypes. Since childhood, we have been urged to eat food that does not bring energy to the body, but, on the contrary, takes it away. After a hearty dinner, you just want to lie down, but according to the laws of nature, everything should be different - food should give strength and promote human activity. Modern food is completely contrary to this natural rule, and therefore completely useless in terms of vitamins and nutrients. An easy way to lose weight, and Carr is sure of it, is to realize the harmfulness of many products;

3. The philosophy of the "plastic bucket".

In the book, the author compares the human body to two things: a plastic waste bucket and an expensive luxury car. If a person eats surrogates and refined foods, eats a lot of meat, fatty, high-calorie foods, and because of this he moves little and gains weight, then such an attitude towards his body is like using a trash can - do we worry about the safety of the bucket and its normal appearance?

A completely different approach is for those who imagine their body as an expensive supercar, from which you need to “blow off dust particles”. You will not fill such a car with cheap gasoline and mercilessly exploit it or, on the contrary, keep it in the garage. If the body is full of energy, then the quality of life changes - after achieving certain results, when a person understands how to lose weight, Allen Carr is sure that he will not want to become a "plastic bucket" again.

From the psychological component of the book, let's move on to more prosaic questions: in order to lose weight, suggestion alone is not enough, dietary correction is also necessary. Is there an easy way to lose weight, as the author promises?

Allen Carr's Nutrition Rules: How to lose weight without dieting

If you start leafing through a book in search of nutritional rules, then most likely your search will not be successful. The Easy Way to Lose Weight is written in an easy, accessible style with no claims, only recommendations. However, an attentive reader will certainly find what the author wanted to convey: what foods you need to eat and which ones are better to refuse, how much food you need to eat in order to feel good and not gain weight, as well as other indispensable attributes of proper nutrition.

After analyzing the methodology, we highlight the basic rules of Allen Carr, how to lose weight without diets, but with the right approach to food:

  • Vegetarianism. Despite the fact that Carr does not insist on any diet, the call for vegetarianism is clearly visible in the book. The author writes about the harmfulness of meat food and the inability of our body to digest protein products;
  • Fruit for breakfast. According to Allen Carr, the best human food is fruit. They are useful because they contain vitamins, nutrients (carbohydrates), fiber, taste good, are easy to digest, and in addition, fruits do not need to be cooked;
  • The most simple and natural food is, according to Allen Carr, an easy way to lose weight and improve your health. In the book, the author reflects on the harm caused by refined processed foods that are devoid of nutritional value. According to Carr, a person can lose weight and be healthy only if he eats the simplest food without long heat treatment. It is better to eat a salad of 2-3 vegetables or fruits than a complex gourmet dish;
  • Milk is as harmful as animal food. For anyone who wants to use an easy way to lose weight, the author advises not to consume dairy products, explaining their widespread use with a dietary stereotype. As evidence, he cites research (still disputed) that the enzymes necessary for the assimilation of milk are produced in the human body only up to three years. Milk should not be consumed longer than this period, as this creates a huge burden on the digestive tract;
  • The right combination of products. An easy way to lose weight is to eat fruits only with fresh vegetables, or even better, eat them separately. Try not to combine proteins and carbohydrates (or minimize their consumption at the same time). Salads can be combined with both protein foods (boiled meat or fish) and carbohydrates (cereals, whole grain pasta, etc.).

This is not to say that the book contains scientifically sound information. Most of it is just the author's point of view, and many nutritionists may not agree with it.

Easy way to lose weight: reviews

It is not surprising that a book with such a high-profile title aroused great interest. More than one and a half million people have read it, which, of course, is proof of a well-thought-out sales strategy.

However, judging by the reviews, an easy way to lose weight is not effective for everyone: firstly, not everyone agrees with the postulates of the author, and secondly, the style of narration is rather alien to our perception. Still, the book is aimed at a Western reader, and people from post-Soviet countries are perplexed by the abundance of repetitive headings, many introductory phrases and Carr's endless repetition that you can lose weight easily and effortlessly.

But still, as evidenced by the reviews, Allen Carr's easy way to lose weight works, although not on the same scale as his method of getting rid of nicotine addiction. For some people, the book helped to get rid of excess weight (there are reviews of losing weight by 5, 8, 15 and even 23 kg) and keep fit, despite the relaxation in the diet.

The Allen Carr method is based on the interpretation of the causes of excess weight. Having understood and clarified these reasons for itself, the human mind itself suggests the way to the correct eating behavior.

Allen's technique is equally suitable for those who want to lose weight, and for those who want to gain weight, as the purpose of this program is to teach people to enjoy life, enjoy it, love themselves and take care of their body and health. But how can you enjoy and rejoice if you experience constant lethargy, weakness, fatigue, irritation and deprivation? Exhaust yourself with remorse for every extra piece eaten?

"Good" and "Bad" Foods by Allen Carr

Allen Carr offers a really simple solution. All products should be divided into "good" and "bad". Good products cleanse the body, heal, bring the necessary energy and strength. Bad products, on the contrary, clog, slagging all organs and systems, bring weakness and ill health, and hence excess weight.

Allen refers to bad foods as those that are overly processed, altered, or contain ingredients that are unsuitable for digestion. During digestion, these foods broken down into components, proteins, fats, trace elements, etc.. So, if there are no useful substances in such a product, then, accordingly, the building material does not enter the body and the person experiences an almost instant feeling of hunger. This is where the desire to constantly chew something comes from. A person begins to scold himself, reproach for intemperance in food, and it is not he who is to blame, but the wrong food.

What foods does Allen Carr consider "bad"?

To better understand what kind of products we are talking about and which ones are considered "bad", you just need to imagine such products that cannot be eaten without any spices, seasonings, sauces, ketchups or salt. Now imagine everything that you could eat with pleasure without additional processing and dressing. Most likely, there will be few such products, but they will be useful for you. But the vast majority of diets are based on eating one type of product. For example, high-protein diets (such as the Kremlin diet) involve a large consumption of meat. And try to eat it without salt and spices. Feel the difference? So it turns out that eating supposedly dietary products, we clog our body even more.

Carr calls all "bad" products a surrogate. In his opinion, a surrogate is something that cannot be eaten in its pure natural form. These are products that are processed in such a way that there is simply nothing useful left in them. Eating such food means simply filling the stomach, but not getting the necessary energy and benefits.

Allen devotes a large section in the book to the rules of cooking. Following the concept of the author, the less processed the products, the less seasonings and spices, sauces and gravies they contain, the more useful they are. "Good" is considered to be the food that, both raw and processed, does not lose its beneficial properties. Any processing of food that increases appetite, such as smoking, frying, adding seasonings and flavor enhancers, turns "good" foods into "surrogate". After all, if we did not cook food in this way, then we would not have problems with increased, sometimes just wolf appetite. This problem would disappear on its own.

In the methodology of Allen Carr, all refined and deodorized products. After all, refining is nothing more than a way to remove all fiber, vitamins, and nutrients. Sugar, white flour, polished rice and refined vegetable oil are subjected to such complex processing that all the beneficial properties of these products are lost in the process, as a result, after eating them, you are provided with excess weight. And first of all, the weight is deposited on the abdomen and hips. And if you want to get rid of it, first give up refined foods.

What foods does Allen Carr consider "good"?

Allen refers to "good" foods as cereals, especially buckwheat, nuts of all kinds and seeds, fresh vegetables and fruits, dairy products, such as low-fat kefir and cottage cheese, unsalted butter. Agree that it is these products that can really be enjoyed solo, without seasoning, processing or improving their taste. They are good in themselves and carry a lot of benefits and energy.

All these products can be eaten at any time and without restrictions, of course, adhering to a reasonable framework. By restructuring your nutrition system in this way, you will restore normal metabolism, rebuild the entire digestive system, and establish a natural weight loss, bringing it to the optimal value.

Allen Carr book really helps you realize the right path you have to take on your way to your ideal weight. And it is not at all necessary to use a minimum of products, as it may seem to many. If you approach the process creatively, taking the essence of the method as a basis, you can choose the ideal composition of dishes and drinks for yourself, learn how to cook them with minimal loss of nutrients, and refuse harmful and improperly processed, surrogate products.
