Latest update of the game armored warfare.

Because the developers needed to redraw the game in such a way as to solve the problems that had accumulated in it. Did it work? Read our final article on the massive reboot of the Armata Project!

Update 0.19 changes

Oddly enough, it all started right here, in patch 0.19. He marked in Armored Warfare: The Armata Project the beginning of work on a program to improve all game mechanics - "Balance 2.0". This is the first update released entirely by Mail.ru, while the Obsidian Entertainment team was no longer involved in the development process.

The changes in this update to the wagon and the small cart affect every aspect of the game. Firstly, the system of classes of equipment and weapons has been reworked, the equipment of combat vehicles has been revised, and the progression system has been changed. Secondly, the developers have reworked the PvE modes, and also removed artillery from PvP, which is at the root of the battle between players.

Now, without "counter" all and all "art", tank battles in Armored Warfare have become more dynamic and contact in every sense. It also allowed for a large-scale rebalancing of all vehicles without exception. Its task is to get as close as possible to real prototypes and expand the range of tactical capabilities of players.
Another important change affected the technical component. The developers have improved the image rendering system in the game, which made it possible to perform 2 important tasks at once. Firstly, the quality of the graphics has grown a little. Secondly, the game has become more optimized, thanks to which its performance has increased. This is very important for F2P projects that are played by the widest audience.

The list can go on and on, but something else is important - the project really began to be redrawn in a new way, the project came to life again, and the players felt it. For those of them who did not want to continue playing on vehicles mined in the past, Mail.ru provided a system for the so-called "soft" progression reset with compensation for the money spent.

Thus, the transition of the project to the rails of "Balance 2.0" was painless. But what about new content? Developers have big plans for it too. For example, there is a second map for the "Clash" mode. And for the PvP format, the Alamo map was added.

The developers didn't forget about PvE lovers either, adding two new missions - "Hephaestus" and "Wall".

Update 0.20

The course taken in patch 0.19 was continued in update 0.20, but now Mail.ru developers have focused on improving the visual component and adding new content. Of course, no one forgot about the balance changes, there were plenty of them, too, but in this regard, the Balance 2.0 program proved to be very viable.

So, in update 0.20, developers have introduced a new interface. Players have often complained that the GUI in Armored Warfare: Project Armata is overloaded with elements and therefore difficult to understand for beginners. Creating a new interface, Mail.ru tried to make it accessible, simple and understandable. At the same time, the functionality remained the same, so experienced players were also satisfied.

One of the main screens in the game, the hangar, has also changed. He, too, used to be pretty overloaded with details and looked more like a hodgepodge of icons, buttons and numbers. Now all the information is clearly structured, the elements take up exactly as much space on the screen as needed, and the backs are repainted in khaki. And finally, the stuffy, dark room was replaced by an open area at a military base.

The new map in Update 0.20 is Port Antonio, designed for PvP. Two teams of players will fight in the scenery of a coastal village. The map is characterized by its unstable weather, so during the battle the situation on the field can change several times. The team that is the first to adapt to constantly changing conditions is likely to win!

Update 0.21

After the last update, the developers were faced with the fact that not all players are comfortable playing with the new hangar. The problem was solved with the advent of the simplified hangar mode, when turned on, all decorative images are removed from the corresponding screen. This improved the performance of the game on computers with not the most powerful components.

But the main "highlight" of patch 0.21 was the line of new Polish tanks:

  • AFV BVP M2 Šakal;
  • KTO Rosomak;
  • KTO Rosomak M1;
  • Light tank WPB Anders;
  • Wilk XC-8 tank destroyer.

As usual, all equipment was created on the basis of real combat vehicles and prototypes, not only externally, but also in terms of technical characteristics. The developers have remained true to the concept of "Balance 2.0", so the new technique of update 0.21 fits perfectly into the current Armored Warfare metagame: Project Armata.

The game has a new map called "Panama Canal", created on the basis of one of the most complex engineering structures in the world. It is conditionally divided into 4 zones and has a rather diverse structure: shelter buildings, bridges, jungles and hills. The map is ideal for positional battles, for surprise raids and hard direct collisions.

After a series of lengthy tests, it was decided to rework the PvP maps Nadym, Kosice and Bezmer for the Clash mode. Perhaps this is due to the fact that this game format has become very popular. Players liked the idea of a hybrid mode that combines PvP and PvE. The mode also sports a curious dynamic weather system.

Update 0.22 - The Art of War

The update is called "The Art of War" due to the focus on a radically redesigned commander system. Instead of conditional levels, the characters now have real ranks, and to get the last 5 ranks, you will really have to work hard, "shaking" several lower commanders at once. Realism? !

The skill tree of the characters has changed its structure, now it is a matrix in which the main skill is located in the center. It improves as the rank increases, while the rest of the skills have a permanent effect that does not change over time. And yes, each fighter has his own skills, so if you wish, you can create a truly unique commander.

In accordance with the “Chinese” theme of the update, the fleet of vehicles was expanded: 9 Chinese-made combat vehicles at once:

  • MBT Type 96;
  • Type 96A;
  • Type 99A;
  • Type 99A2;
  • BBM ZBL-08;
  • BBM ZBD-86;
  • ACS PLZ-89;
  • ACS PLZ-05;
  • Tank destroyer PTZ-89.

And 2 more vehicles from Czechoslovakia and Slovakia: AFV OT-64 Cobra and AFV OA-82 Jarmila 2.

There is only one new map in the update - Baise, but it is available in both PvP and PvE. The battles will take place in a mountain valley, where there is enough space for large-scale tank battles, and the presence of hills and buildings allows you to fire from a long distance and effectively conduct reconnaissance. The map is great for any class of vehicles.

The Panama Canal map, which was added in the last patch, is also available in the Showdown mode. But the significant changes do not end there: the developers again took up the processing of the visual part of the game. This time, Mail.ru refreshed the appearance of the equipment: they applied new shaders, added a lot of details like scratches, chips and peeling paint.

Update 0.23 - Caribbean Crisis

At the moment, this is the last patch installed on the Armored Warfare: Project Armata server. The update was released at the end of December 2017 and brought to the game a fundamentally new "Special Operations" mode - a series of tasks connected by one storyline. As you might guess, the "Caribbean Crisis" is the name of the first special operation.

Special operations take place in the PvE format. Players unite in a squad of 4 people, and then perform combat missions, moving along the storyline of the game. This mode allowed the developers to take the story component to a new level - to talk about the factions operating in the world of the near future, and also to present players with really difficult PvE content.

To diversify the game, Mail.ru developers implemented the so-called night battles. They take place on the same maps as all the others, but under the cover of night, and players get the opportunity to use night vision devices. This changes the way battles are played, allowing players to set up ambushes and launch lightning raids on unsuspecting foes.

A new map in the update is "Pleternica". This is a rather picturesque location for day and night PvP battles, where players try to take control of a small village in the foothills of the Balkan Peninsula. On Pleternice, like on many other maps in Armored Warfare, holding strategic heights is extremely important.

Once again, the creators of the game are engaged in the processing of the interface. This time they took up the design of the "Personal file" - the player's profile. Now it is divided into several tabs with all the information: basic profile statistics, unlocked vehicles, achievements, battle history, and so on. By the way, you can see orders there. This is a new type of unique awards given out for military exploits.

What's next?

In 2017, the game Armored Warfare: Project Armata. As the developers promised, they reworked almost all aspects of the game, taking into account the wishes of the players, and also added a large amount of new content - vehicles, maps, and even new modes. The balance was completely revised, and the project took on a new life, players began to return to it.

What will happen next? It's hard to say for sure, for this you need to be one of the developers of the game, but judging by the persistence of Mail.ru, there are still many changes ahead. The site team will carefully monitor the game and tell you about any significant changes.

Most recently, a big update was rolled onto the live server under the number 0.21 . The patch note is quite extensive and deserves a detailed analysis. Did the developers manage to gain altitude and fly in the direction of success?

First impression

The changes affected everything from the maps to the ongoing redesign of the interface. We added new combat vehicles, a new map, sawed a lot of equipment up or down, almost finished work on the new interface. And you can’t say that this update contains something unusual or extremely cool. But a stable release of innovations and fixes for a thing was previously unstable, so players meet each patch like a holiday, and only then they look at what's new and interesting there.

On the one hand, we can say that the update is minor, since after that it’s hard to call major something in which the list of changes has less than 10 sheets. On the other hand, it is still a major with the number 0.21 . The patch, firstly, introduced a lot of extremely important balance and technical changes, and secondly, after all, new models of vehicles. From now on, let's take a closer look.

Game cards, new and not so

Added a new PvP map - "Panama Canal". The map size of 1300 x 1300 meters allows you to play more freely due to less time spent on moving from point A to point B. The map is divided into 2 parts ... What would you think? Panama Canal, of course. In addition, there is a small river that harms rather than helps here, eating away the usable area of the map. Perhaps this moment will be somehow corrected by the release on the main servers.

For hybrid (PvP / PvE) mode clash added 2 cards from the PvP pool: "Nadym" and "Kashice". Now the most vigorous mode will be played even more fun. In addition to adding locations, changes have been made to the maps "Tkvarcelli", "Suez Canal" and "Bezmer".

PvE did not bypass and carried out mass optimization of graphics for different PC variations, improving performance on Low and Medium settings and adding prettiness at high graphics settings without compromising performance, I hope.

PvP maps also played tricks on the wave of general graphics optimization. On the maps "Alamo", "Batumi", "Bezmer", "Gori", "Mostar", "Nadym", "Panama Canal", "Tkvarcheli", "Umm-Qasr" and "Urizar" were well processed with a file Low and Mid and fixed a lot of minor bugs and flaws in the graphics. It's hard to call the changes cardinal, but they are noticeable.

A rich list of graphics fixes means that the developers have learned how to work with the engine, and with each subsequent patch, horse system requirements can be systematically reduced due to general optimization, which will attract players who, due to the state of their computers, were not able to evaluate.

Gameplay

In terms of gameplay features, there are also quite a few new moments. Changed the mechanics of projectiles. Now BCS(Armor-Piercing HEAT Shells) will deal 25% additional damage when they break through armor. Bonus damage of tandem BCS will be 30%; KOS - 35%. BFS also slightly tweaked, increasing the detonation angle from 80 to 85 degrees and fixed many issues related to the behavior of shells when they hit one or another part of the tank.

Fixed moment with permanent fire when hit by external fuel tanks. Agree, a rather unfortunate omission, which for a long time spoiled stools, chairs and armchairs of players. Now this won't happen. ATGM now starts reloading immediately after a shot, instead of after a hit (or miss). Gameplay is built on such moments, and the correction of such inattentions or mistakes has a beneficial effect on the game itself and the nerves of the players.

Interface 2.0

I kicked the developers for promising a new interface, but we only received hangar and 1 menu with a redesign. In update 0.21, the oversight was fixed, now the whole interface redesigned and looks new. In addition to the redesigned interface, the interface has also been changed match results. It has become more informative and enjoyable. Of course, there were some problems in the first couple, but the developers gathered together and reduced all interface errors to nothing.

Along with the refinement of the interface, an interesting moment was added - "Minimalist Hangar", which is outrageously simple and good. You know, as they say - simple and tasteful. The mini-hangar immediately fell in love with the players and, most likely, it will be installed on the vast majority of game clients. He does not eat FPS, which is very critical in the case of Almaty.

tank building

The conveyor, launched, never ceases to amaze. The update fixed a lot mistakes and shortcomings, which were insignificant relative to the whole game, but in specific battles they were very sad.

Made balance changes and optimization for many combat vehicles. The list is quite large, it consists of 50 items, and with each new iteration of the test, the list of changes grows and grows.

The changes concern entire classes and specific machines. For some AFVs, the number of ATGMs loaded was increased. MBTs are changing in all respects. Some tanks have their armor increased, some have their guns upgraded, and, in general, the whole section of vehicle changes goes towards improvement. Among the impressive list of changes, it is hard to find a line in which something has worsened. It's weird, but nice.

In addition to changing existing cars, they brought new ones straight from sunny Poland. We got four new cars: AFV of the sixth, seventh, eighth level, as well as a tank destroyer of the 10th level:

  • AFV level 6 BVP Šakal
  • AFV level 7 KTO Rosomak
  • AFV level 8 KTO Rosomak M1
  • IT Level 10 Wilk XC-8

In addition to Polish armored vehicles, 1 Chinese level 8 MBT was wormed into the column - Type 99G.

As for me, roll out a batch of BBM when these trucks deprived of many unique features, giving some of the chips to the class of light tanks, rather strange. After all, AFVs are now in prostration - it seems that the class is necessary, but it seems that it plays quite well without it. Of course, there are pluses:

  • New technology is always good;
  • Another top (level 10);
  • NATO variation of the Soviet BMP 1-2.
As in previous patches, Chang Feng continues to languish with empty branches. The game frankly lacks unusual Asian technology, which, against the background of the standards of the Soviet and Western schools of tank building, will look like the result of the work of Japanese advertisers and Chinese basement assemblers.

Alas, at the moment, developers either cannot find information about such developments, or such a technique does not fit into the current development schedule. Chinese clones of Soviet tanks are, of course, great and realistic, but there are at least a minimum of unique vehicles in the Chinese branch.

Summarizing

As a result of the analysis of the update 0.21 we can say that it turned out to be successful. New tanks, revision of old vectors, fixing game problems and flaws - these are all small parts of the success of the game that the developers are now leading everyone to.

Finally finished the game interface. Now he looks holistic and quite nice. New cards are not stamped on the conveyor, only changing snow for sand or greenery. Maps are made original, unique and, importantly, with realistic weather conditions, this quite strongly affects the perception of the game. Yes, even if the gameplay on some of them is rather strange, and some classes of armored vehicles drop out of them, let them, but the card makers receive feedback from the players, improving and introducing new features.

I am also extremely glad that programmers have finally begun to learn about the graphics engine and turn it step by step Battle City with requirements into something appropriate.

P.S. Initially, the patchnote was rather modest, but with each passing day and iteration of testing, the list of changes grew and grew and grew. Now the general list of changes can be not entirely honest, but still be compared with the amount of work done. 0.19 was made for six months. 0.21 is at least 2 times less. My respect for such a volume of work done.

Definitely love the update. I'm waiting for your opinion in the comments.

The developers of the online action game Armored Warfare: Project Armata presented a patch called " Art of War”, which will bring with it a significant improvement in graphics, a lot of new content and a redesigned commander system. Also, along with the announcement, a teaser of the update was presented.

In the upcoming patch, the graphics component of the game will be reworked. The developers have redesigned most of the equipment presented in the online action using new shaders, changed some of the skins and added atmospheric details - chips, peeling paint, scratches and other traces of past battles. Thanks to all this, the appearance of military equipment in the garage will change - the vehicles will look much more spectacular and realistic.

With the release of the patch in Armored Warfare: Project Armata Chinese military equipment will appear: MBT Type 99A1 and Type 99A2, AFV ZBL-08 and ZBD-86, self-propelled guns PLZ-89 and PLZ-05, tank destroyer PTZ-89. Moreover, in The art of war» A map based on Baise County, located in the southeast of China, will appear. The map will be available for both PvP and PvE in Operation Tiger Claw. It is a mountain valley divided by a river. On the map, it will be possible to apply any tactical capabilities of the player: open spaces for direct battles, hills and small settlements for covert attack and vehicle shelter.

Players will also be able to try out an improved Commander system that will allow them to choose between different characters with unique biographies, personalities and characteristics. The commander's progress will be based on the experience gained, but instead of the usual 5 levels, he will have as many as 15. Upon reaching the next level, commanders will be able to learn new skills: basic ones that form the basis of the commander's development, and improved ones that increase the efficiency of development.

An online action game about battles on modern tanks, in which you can either fight with other players or go through PvE tasks together.

« Armored Warfare: Project Armata"Developed by the famous American studio Obsidian Entertainment, known for such games as . In Russia, the game was launched on September 13, 2015, and worldwide on October 8, 2015. From February 20, 2018, the game is also available on the Sony PlayStation 4. Armored Warfare: Project Armata is distributed under a shareware model.

Armored Warfare: Project Armata takes place in the near future, after humanity has experienced a massive war. Now the interests of those in power around the world are defended by private military corporations, and the player is a fighter of one of them. Due to the damage caused by the war, any equipment is used, so in Armored Warfare you will have to fight both on combat vehicles of the sixties of the last century, and on the most modern tanks, such as the latest modifications of the Abrams and Leopard, as well as the Russian T-14 "Armata".

The developers are constantly expanding the state of military equipment, adding vehicles not only of the leading military powers, but also less well-known states in this matter, such as Brazil or the Republic of South Africa. All equipment is bought from three suppliers, and to get the most modern machines, you will have to spend some time pumping. In addition, the crew also swings - the fighters have about a hundred perks, the choice of which affects the style of play.

The fleet of vehicles is not limited to tanks alone - it is full of other vehicles. Armored combat vehicles are good for reconnaissance, but at the same time they can snap quite a bit if there are guided missiles among the weapons. Tank Destroyers are ideal for ambush operations: they quickly change position, armed with powerful weapons, but weakly protected. Finally, in PvE you can also play as artillery. By the way, the technique can be both tracked and wheeled - these two types have completely different indicators of speed, maneuverability and patency.

Modern technology leaves its mark on the gameplay of Armored Warfare. Firstly, even the heaviest tanks are very mobile here - therefore, battles are often fought at high speeds. Secondly, in the game, especially at high levels of pumping, there are a lot of high-tech pieces - there are guided missiles, complexes for jamming and destroying shells flying into the tank, and just a smoke screen system. If you use all this, then the chances of winning grow noticeably.

PvP in Armored Warfare is represented by several sets of rules at once. The basic idea is simple - you need to destroy all enemy tanks or capture his base. But there are also options: for example, there may be objects on the map, the capture of which will help the team - like artillery support or a drone that shows opponents in a certain square. Finally, there is the "Clash" mode - it takes place on a huge map, players fight for control points, and conditions can constantly change. For example, the positions that must be held change at each stage, plus a sandstorm can start - and then visibility will drop significantly.

PvE fans can try their hand at co-op missions for up to five people. Initially, these were separate missions, but then the developers moved on to releasing special operations - mini-campaigns from several missions. The tasks are united by a common plot, and the special operations themselves gradually reveal the details of the world of Armored Warfare and the events that take place in it.

Armored Warfare is made on one of the latest versions of CryEngine, which allowed the developers to make an impressive picture. Tanks are modeled to the smallest detail, plus excellent special effects, and the system requirements are not very high.

Victory in Armored Warfare largely depends on how well you know your tank and enemy vehicles. Therefore, if you decide to play, then look at the section on our website - it contains guides for all popular tanks, as well as a lot of other useful information.
