Sold in pharmacies in bottles of 100 and 200 ml. Drops are a translucent yellow liquid with a typical anise flavor. Sold in the pharmacy network in vials of 50 ml. "Gedelix" is in the list of drugs that are used to treat the upper and lower respiratory tract, colds. The drug has expectorant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and mucolytic effects. The main ingredient activates the secretion of bronchial glands, makes sputum less viscous, relieves spasm of bronchial smooth muscles and inflammation of the respiratory mucosa. As a result of the action in the respiratory system, the inflammatory process stops, the sputum is liquefied and easier to remove.

Children from two to four years old are recommended to drink 16 drops. The maximum dose per day is 48 drops. from four to 10 years, it is prescribed to drink 21 drops three times a day. The maximum daily dose is 63 drops. Starting from the age of 10, the drug is drunk in the doses recommended for an adult, i.e. 31 drops. The maximum daily dose is 93 drops per day. Drops do not need to be diluted. Before taking them, the bottle must be shaken. After taking it, you need to drink a moderate amount of liquid.

Syrup

According to the instructions for use, Gedelix syrup can be prescribed for children up to a year old. The dosage regimen looks like this:

• infants up to a year - 2.5 ml of syrup or half a measuring spoon once a day;
• children from one to four years old - 2.5 ml three times a day;
• children from four to 10 years - 2.5 ml four times a day;
• starting from the age of 10, children drink the drug, like adults - 5 ml three times a day.

Drinking "Gedelix" for longer than a week is not necessary. If during this time the effect has not come, and there are no changes in the patient's condition, it means that the diagnosis was made incorrectly, or the drug was unsuccessfully selected. In any case, the lack of improvement and recovery is an important reason for going to the doctor. If the cough after taking the remedy has stopped, then it is not recommended to immediately cancel it. It is advisable to drink it for two to three days until the effect is fixed. The drug should not be taken together with any antitussive, as this will only make it difficult for excess sputum to come out. The drug can be used for inhalation using a nebulizer. The shelf life of "Gedelix" is four years, however, after opening the bottle, it is only usable for six months.
