Training courses. Preparatory courses for them

According to the new rules, admission to Russian colleges is carried out on a public basis. Applicants who have a certificate enter college without entrance exams in subjects.

Upon admission to the specialty of Nursing and General Medicine, entrance tests of a psychological nature are carried out.

Why are preparatory courses needed?

Firstly, leading colleges accept applicants through a competitive process based on their GPA. The courses provide an opportunity to systematize the basic knowledge acquired at school and thus improve your average score.

Secondly, the applicant gets acquainted with the chosen profession, the teaching staff, and the areas of secondary vocational education.

Another advantage of the courses is the foundation for successful studies in the first year of college. For example, high school students enter medical college based on their average certificate score, and behind them is a basic school curriculum in chemistry and biology of one hour per week in each subject. In the first year of college, they encounter these subjects in a completely different volume and at a qualitatively new level, which often leads to failure and retakes.

The courses provide an opportunity to adapt to the college program, focus on specialized disciplines even before admission, and learn in advance the requirements of college teachers. The training program will include several hours of professionally oriented events, for example, an “Introduction to the Specialty” course or master classes from specialists. As a result, high school students gain more information about college majors and can make informed choices.

Welcome to our college, our doors are always open for you!

The courses are accepted for persons who have completed secondary (complete) general education, as well as students of the 9th, 10th, 11th grades of secondary schools.

Classes are taught by full-time teachers 3 times a week from 16:00 to 19:00 in Russian language, chemistry and biology programs.

Groups are recruited for training at the sites

  • Leninsky Prospekt, 35a
  • Kashirskoe highway, 15, bldg. 2 (SP1)
  • Chuksin dead end, 6 (SP2)
  • st. Ivanteevskaya, 25, building 1 (SP3)

Cost of education: 24,000 rub.

For Orenburg applicants who want to connect their lives with medicine, the doors of the medical university located in the city are open. This university was founded several decades ago. At that time, it was a small educational institution, just beginning its journey in the field of education and science. Today Orenburg Medical University is the pride of the city and region. This is a developed, modern university that plans to move forward.

How long has the university been in existence?

The history of modern Orenburg Medical University began during the Great Patriotic War. In 1941 (September 22), the property of the departments, part of the educational and scientific library, and the entire teaching staff were evacuated from Ukraine to Orenburg, which at that time was called Chkalov. It took the university just over a month to move and prepare for the academic year. The first classes began on November 1 for the 4th year. The remaining courses of the medical institute began their studies on November 10.

During its existence in Chkalov, the educational institution held 4 graduations of doctors. In total, more than 1,400 specialists were trained during the war years. The last time diplomas from the 1st Kharkov Medical Institute in the city were issued was in May 1944, and in the summer of the same year the university was returned to Ukraine. In August 1944, they decided to open a new medical school in Chkalov. The Kharkov University was replaced by the Chkalov Medical Institute - the future Orenburg Medical University.

What is remarkable about a modern university?

Over the years, the educational institution has come a long way in its development. From an institute, the university has grown into a university, which today is known throughout the Orenburg region, in other regions of Russia and even abroad. OrGMU is known in Kazakhstan, Latvia, Belarus, India, USA, Egypt, Poland, China, because international cooperation has been established with these countries. Teachers and students of Orenburg Medical University participate in exchange programs, foreign internships and practices.

The university is especially notable for its department of career guidance and pre-university preparation. It helps students understand whether they are truly interested in medicine. The university, together with the Ministry of Education, has created medical classes in schools in the city and the Orenburg region. University teachers visit them with lecture material and master classes. The department also organizes courses to prepare for the Unified State Exam in chemistry, biology and the Russian language, designed for 2 years and 1 year.

Getting to know the university at open days

Every year the Orenburg Medical University holds an open day. This event used to traditionally take place in the spring, but was recently moved to the fall. This is due to the fact that now the university accepts schoolchildren only based on the Unified State Examination results, and registration for exams in schools is carried out in January. Open days, held in the fall, help applicants decide on their future profession and learn about the list of subjects that will need to be taken in the Unified State Examination form.

At the event, schoolchildren and parents get acquainted with the exhibition stands of faculties, talk with deans, teachers and students. What is taught at the Orenburg State Medical University, is a dormitory provided, what will today’s students become after graduating from university - all these important issues are discussed at open days. Additionally, attention is paid to the Olympiad and scientific conference. They are held at the university at a certain time for schoolchildren and give them the opportunity to earn points, which will later be added to the sum of the Unified State Examination points upon admission. Due to this, the chances of admission are significantly increased.

Choice of faculties

There are 7 in the Orenburg Medical University. Each of them implements a specific educational program. For example, the Faculty of Medicine offers “General Medicine”. General practitioners are trained in this specialty. Students study a wide range of disciplines, ranging from therapeutic to surgical. During their studies, future graduates develop an interest in certain areas. After graduating from university, doctors continue to receive residency training, choosing the most suitable field for themselves (surgery, oncology, psychiatry, etc.).

The university also has pediatric, dental, preventive medicine, pharmaceutical faculties and faculties of clinical psychology and higher nursing. The specialties offered for them at Org State Medical University are “Pediatrics”, “Dentistry”, “Medical and preventive care”, “Pharmacy”, “Clinical psychology”, “Nursing”.

Admission to a university: visit to the admissions committee

The admissions committee at Orenburg Medical University traditionally begins recruiting applicants in June. From the moment the admission campaign begins, you can come to the university with a package of documents:

  • with a passport;
  • certificate or diploma;
  • certificate of mandatory preliminary medical examination;
  • vaccination card.

After submitting the documents, if the Unified State Exam results are available, applicants can only wait for the admission order to be issued. In the absence of Unified State Exam results, applicants participate in intra-university testing in biology, chemistry and the Russian language. However, only graduates of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions are allowed to take the tests, since by law only this category of applicants (with some exceptions) has the right to take university entrance tests.

Since 1973, courses at the Russian National Research Medical University named after. N.I. Pirogov prepare students for admission to universities.

Well-proven methods and the involvement of teachers working both in specialized schools of the university and with students in classes ensure consistently high USE scores every year.

Preparatory courses provide additional educational services in general education subjects taken for entrance examinations in medical and biological universities.

  • Classes in groups and tests are carried out according to the curriculum and class schedule. The course curriculum, work programs, calendar and thematic plans for subjects are compiled on the basis of educational standards.
  • Assignments for control events are compiled taking into account the form of entrance examinations at the Russian National Research Medical University named after. N.I. Pirogov (internal exam, Unified State Examination).
  • Educational and methodological support for courses is provided by teachers from specialized departments of the University. Course teachers who have a Unified State Exam expert certificate in the subject and experience working in educational institutions (schools, lyceums) are also involved in the methodological work. The teaching staff of the courses is working to create and improve teaching aids and test assignments, which ensures the best assimilation of the program by students and effective control of knowledge. Teaching materials are adjusted in accordance with changes in the requirements of the Unified State Exam and internal testing of the University.
