How and when you can retake the exam. Federal news

At the end of each school year, all eleventh-graders in Russia face a serious test - passing the Unified State Exam. Based on the points earned in this way, the future applicant can expect to receive a prestigious place in a particular university.

Most schoolchildren prefer to begin preparing for the upcoming sections of knowledge long before they actually begin. Many are still in 9-10 grade. To do this, the children sign up for tutors, improve those subjects that they do not understand in the usual way, devote more free time to studying, consciously reducing the period of rest and walks with friends.

However, not all graduates can boast of such a positive example of preparatory work - there are also more careless schoolchildren who are unlikely to be able to pass future exams on their own the first time. As a result, they will not score even the minimum number of points.

True, the described situation does not always depend on the knowledge and skills of a particular student. Some may simply become nervous when they find themselves in such a stressful situation. It turns out that even despite lengthy preparation, the Unified State Exam will fail. It is for such cases that the Ministry of Education has established a retake of the exam. For example, in the coming year you can try to pass the Unified State Exam twice.

What to be afraid of in 2017 or the required number of points?

The good news for current eleventh-graders is that the minimum number of Unified State Exam points remains the same. The Ministry of Education decided not to change last year’s parameters so as not to lower the threshold marks.

We remind you that in the Russian language the minimum threshold of required points is 36. By passing the basic level of mathematics with only 3 points, the student can receive the long-awaited high school diploma, while successfully passing the Unified State Examination of mathematics at the profile level is equal to 27 points. Only in this case does the student have every right to apply for admission to a university. The passing score in natural science is 42, history – 32, physics, chemistry and biology – 36, foreign language – 22, computer science – 40, literature – 32; geography – 37.

The certificate issued after passing the tests can be used for the next 3 years. Otherwise, the Unified State Exam will have to be taken again. By the way, a student can add another 10 to the points received on the Unified State Examination - for an average “A” in the certificate, high achievements in physical education and excellent results when participating in scientific conferences, competitions or olympiads.

Who can retake the Unified State Exam?

Before you try your hand at the final level of knowledge again, you should determine who is eligible to retake the Unified State Exam in 2017. It turns out that during the marked period, each student can experience happiness again. In this case, you can retake the indicators of any subject either because of an unsatisfactory grade, or because of scores that do not suit the applicant himself. For example, an 11th grade student scored only 38 points in Russian, while the minimum acceptable standard is 36. Of course, he wants to try to retake the exam, even if he receives a certificate. Most likely, such a student needs more important indicators for future admission to university.

You should also consider when you can retake a particular subject, and what is special about such a procedure. Retaking the Unified State Exam involves a number of the following factors:

Modifications in the Unified State Examination

Today's eleventh-graders will have to take not two mandatory exams, as was the case previously, but three. True, it is not yet clear which discipline the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation chose to assess the knowledge of schoolchildren as a supplement. According to preliminary rumors, this will be history, since the performance of this particular subject is considered the worst among the majority of Russian students. Some people think that soon they will have to take physics without fail. In fact, such information will become available early next year.

Only one thing is clear as day - future graduates will have a hard time, because in addition to the 3 compulsory subjects, they will have to diligently prepare for one more to choose from. If a graduate wants to test his knowledge of computer science, the upcoming exam will be held on a computer. It is assumed that before that time, schools will be able to prepare the necessary base that meets the highest requirements of the ministry.

It only remains to add that there are already rumors about a possible reduction in the test part of the Unified State Exam, while the number of ordinary and detailed questions will be greater. Based on knowledge from the Russian language, the oral part of the exam is conducted.

It is clear that graduates face a very difficult task - to successfully graduate from school and enter a prestigious university. Achieving all this is much easier than it might seem. Only diligent preparation will help achieve the desired results, so it’s time to come to your senses and start working. Just in case, it’s already clear how to retake the Unified State Exam, but you should really hope for additional opportunities. Good luck!

The Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science has summed up the preliminary results of the Unified State Examination in mathematics at the profile level, which took place on June 2.

The average score of participants increased by almost 1 point compared to last year and amounted to 47.1 points. The number of participants who failed to meet the minimum threshold of 27 points decreased by 1%. In total, about 391 thousand participants took part in the Unified State Examination in specialized mathematics.

“The level of difficulty of the Unified State Examination in mathematics at the specialized level did not change in 2017. Preliminary exam results indicate that participants performed the tasks better this year. We can also note a more conscious choice of the Unified State Exam level in mathematics by graduates: fewer participants signed up for both exams at once; the profile Unified State Exam was chosen mainly by graduates who need mathematics to enter a university,” noted the head of Rosobrnadzor, Sergei Kravtsov.

Thanks to the introduction of technology for scanning the answer forms of Unified State Examination participants at examination points, the processing of results was promptly completed. Participants in the Unified State Examination in mathematics at the profile level will be able to find out their results two days earlier than the deadline. This can be done through your personal account on the Unified State Exam portal - http://check.site/.

On June 28, during the main period of the Unified State Exam 2017, a reserve deadline is provided for taking the Unified State Exam in mathematics. Graduates of previous years who want to improve their results will be able to take the exam on this day. Also, graduates of the current year who received a positive Unified State Examination result in the Russian language, but do not have a satisfactory Unified State Examination result in mathematics at either the basic or specialized level, will be able to retake the Unified State Examination in mathematics. To retake, such graduates can choose any level of the Unified State Examination in mathematics - specialized or basic.

The last two years have been marked by a number of innovations in the Unified State Examination aimed at supporting applicants. Among the changes is the ability to retake the exam to improve your grade. This is, of course, a positive point, since previously, if a graduate did not score enough points to enter a university in his chosen specialty, he had to apply to faculties with a low passing threshold. And some even lost hope of becoming a student at a higher educational institution.

Items that can be retaken

Now, applicants can take the Unified State Exam again in any chosen subject that is required for admission to a university, but they will be able to retake the exam in only one discipline to improve their score. But to improve the result, the Ministry of Education gives applicants two more attempts, as during the “regular” state final certification.

If until 2017, graduates could retake the Unified State Examination only in compulsory disciplines (Russian language and mathematics), which are necessary to obtain a school certificate, now it is possible to retake the exam in any of 14 subjects.

The innovation is due to the realities of life: only 3.4% of graduates fail to score the required number of points for a certificate of secondary education, and 57% of eleventh-graders are dissatisfied with their results in specialized disciplines.

Retake the Unified State Exam in the same year

The following are allowed to re-take the Unified State Exam in the current academic year:

The following are not allowed to take the Unified State Exam a second time within the same examination campaign (that is, in the same year):

  • graduates who missed the State Examination for an unexcused reason;
  • Unified State Exam participants who were suspended by the examination committee from performing work due to gross violations of the testing rules (that is, those who were removed from the PES for cheating, talking with friends, using the phone).

On the Unified State Exam in mathematics, you can choose one of the levels or both at the same time.

Note:

  • If you took mathematics at both the basic and specialized levels at once, but received a failure for one of them, then you cannot retake it in the current academic year, since you already have a passing grade in the subject.
  • If you fail at both levels, you can retake it once by selecting either a profile or a base.
  • If one of the levels was chosen at once and the results are unsatisfactory, then you can also take it again in the same year, changing the level (for example, specialized to basic).

Since 2019, changes have been made to the procedure for conducting GIA-11: mathematics can be taken only at one of the levels - either the base or the profile. If you fail the exam, you can change the selected level when retaking it during the reserve period. Also, according to the new procedure, graduates of previous years who have already received a certificate cannot participate in the Unified State Examination in basic level mathematics.

Re-exam next year

If a student is dissatisfied with the results of the Unified State Exam, but the grades exceed the minimum threshold, then he can re-take the exam in core subjects only next year. Graduates of previous years planning to retake the State Examination must promptly (before February 1) submit an application to participate in the Unified State Exam at the registration point.

Students who do not achieve the minimum scores in two compulsory subjects are retested in the fall of the same year (one discipline can be retaken on reserve days). If they do not receive a satisfactory grade in September, a retake is scheduled for the next year.

What you need to retake the exam

To retake the State Exam, you must contact the examination committee of the institution that registers Unified State Exam participants. The secretariat will issue an application form. Once completed, it is sent to the authorized organizers of state certification.

The application indicates the reason why the graduate was unable to pass the test; if necessary, it is accompanied by a document certifying the right to retake the test. To confirm admission, a notification is sent to the exam participant with information about the dates, place and time of the certification.

Those who were admitted to the State Examination, but did not pass or did not pass it, do not have to write a final essay in order to obtain the right to retake the Unified State Exam.

You can demonstrate the ability to express thoughts if you wish, in order to use the results when entering a university - many universities take into account the grades for the essay during competitive selection and award additional points for it.

Graduates with certificates of education can register to participate in writing a final essay in any educational organization (at their former school, for example). During the period of passing the State Examination, examinees are reinstated in the educational institution.

Deadlines

To retake the Unified State Exam, special reserve days are allocated in the schedule of the early and main stages - usually at the end of the period:

During the main stage, many more “spare” dates are allocated for retaking:

In September, only compulsory subjects can be retaken:

If the Unified State Exam is retaken not to obtain a certificate, but to enter a university, and it was only in September that you can overcome a rebellious subject with satisfactory scores, the chances of admission, even on a budget, still remain. Many higher educational institutions in the fall conduct additional enrollment in specialties for which the state has allocated large quotas, but there are fewer people willing to master them. In addition, the Unified State Examination certificate is valid for 4 years, so you can enroll in a university the following year, having carefully considered the choice of your future profession.

The 2018-2019 school year has just begun, which means it’s time for eleventh-graders to find out how the most “terrible” test of their entire lives—the Unified State Exam—will take place. Let us remind you how the Unified State Examination will take place in 2019, what subjects are compulsory, how long the Unified State Exam results are valid, how to retake the Unified State Exam if the grade is bad, and how to pass the Unified State Exam for a graduate of previous years.

Required subjects for passing the Unified State Exam in 2019

In recent years, there have been constant rumors about expanding the list of compulsory subjects for passing the Unified State Exam, so it would be useful to remind you which subjects are mandatory in 2019 and which are not.

In fact, compared to many previous years, there will be no changes in 2019, and there are two mandatory subjects for the Unified State Exam:

  • Russian language,
  • mathematics.

The only change that came into force relatively recently is that the graduate needs to decide which exam in mathematics he will take - a basic level of difficulty or a specialized, more complex version.

The innovation, according to which mathematics was divided into two levels of complexity, is more than justified. Some graduates will have enough basic knowledge from the high school curriculum, and later in their studies a deep knowledge of mathematics will not be useful to them. At the same time, for others, mathematics is one of the foundations of their future specialty; deep knowledge is required at the university they have chosen, and the depth of knowledge for more serious requirements can be tested in a specialized exam.

By the way, a graduate has the right to take both versions of the mathematics exam if he so desires.

In principle, these two exams are enough to obtain a certificate of completion of eleven classes. All other exams are the choice of the student himself, and you can take any number of them. Let us remind you that in addition to the mandatory exams in 2019, you can take the Unified State Exam in the following elective subjects:

  • biology,
  • geography,
  • foreign languages (English, German, French and Spanish),
  • computer science and information and communication technologies (ICT),
  • story,
  • literature,
  • social science,
  • physics,
  • chemistry.

It is clear that eleventh-graders take a choice of exams, the results of which will be required for admission to the university of their choice for their chosen specialty.

Let us also remind you that admission to the Unified State Exam for current graduates will be the one that eleventh graders will write in the winter. The essay is evaluated according to the credit system, that is, in fact, whether the student writes it as a C or as an A, it makes no difference - he will receive a pass and be admitted to the Unified State Examination.

How long are Unified State Exam results valid?

Unified State Examination results are valid for four years. Thus, those who take the Unified State Exam in 2019 will be able to manage their results until 2023. And, accordingly, in 2019 it will not be too late for those who took the Unified State Exam in 2015 or later to submit their results of the Unified State Examinations for admission to a university.

As for those who take the Unified State Exam in 2019 and receive a score below the minimum required, the retake deadline depends on which exam they failed. If this is one of the compulsory subjects, you will be able to retake the Unified State Exam in September 2019. If this is one of the optional exams, then no earlier than in 2020.

When will the Unified State Exam schedule be known in 2019?

The official Unified State Exam schedule for 2019 should appear at the beginning of the calendar year. Usually the order of the Ministry of Education and Science appears in early January. Let's say, in 2017, this order was issued on January 9 - the first working day of the year. Until this moment, work is underway on the Unified State Exam schedule, and it is also considered not entirely appropriate to publish the schedule, even if it is ready earlier.

By the way, even in January the Unified State Exam schedule is published with a note that it is preliminary and can be adjusted closer to the summer.

How to pass the Unified State Exam for a graduate of previous years in 2019

Those who passed the Unified State Exam before 2015 and whose results are invalid, those who want to get a higher score in a particular subject than they received in 2015 or later, as well as those who completely graduated from school before the era of unified state exams are allowed if necessary, take the Unified State Exam together with current year graduates.

In order to pass the Unified State Exam for a graduate of previous years in 2019, you must, first of all, prepare for the exam, and also notify the local education department of your desire. You will need to write an application, indicate those subjects for which you want to take the Unified State Exam, present a passport and a certificate of education.

Since a graduate from previous years already has a certificate of education, he does not need to write a final essay or take compulsory subjects. Except, of course, for those cases when the university where a person wants to enter requires valid Unified State Examination results in Russian or mathematics, and the result of the final essay is also important.

A graduate of previous years can take the Unified State Exam in any city; the deadline is either early or together with the main stream.

If an eleventh grader does not score the minimum required for a positive grade in one of the required subjects (Russian language or mathematics at a basic or specialized level), he can take the exam again. This can be done on the reserve days provided for by the unified exam schedule. And, if successful, the graduate has every chance of entering a university in the year of graduation.

If unsatisfactory result again– you can try to pass the exam again, in additional autumn terms. In this case, there will no longer be a chance of entering a university - but a school leaving certificate (which is not issued in the case of a “D” in one of the required subjects) will allow you to continue your studies at a college or technical school.

It should be noted that:

  • graduates who do not meet the threshold in two compulsory subjects at once do not have the right to retake the Unified State Exam this year - they will have to continue the struggle to obtain a certificate in a year;

  • if a graduate has passed mathematics at both the basic and specialized levels and has passed the threshold for at least one of these exams, the exam is considered passed;

  • retaking the Unified State Examination in mathematics is possible both at the basic and at the specialized level (at the choice of the examinee);

  • Graduates of previous years do not have the opportunity to retake an exam that they passed unsatisfactorily.

Graduates who do not score the minimum number of points in their elective exams will be able to retake the exam only next year.

Who else has the right to retake the Unified State Exam in additional terms?

Unified State Exam participants who started taking the exam but were unable to complete the test for a valid reason, documented, have the right to retake the exam on reserve days. The most common case is a deterioration in health during the exam (the fact of illness must be recorded by a doctor).

In addition, those who during the exam encountered technical and organizational “overlaps” at the Unified State Examination point (for example, lack of additional forms, power outages, etc.) have the right to retake the test. In addition, if the organizers of the Unified State Exam committed violations in the conduct of the exam, the results of all participants may be canceled and the tests will have to be repeated.

Note! If a Unified State Exam participant is removed from the classroom for using a phone or caught trying to cheat, his results are canceled, and the right to retake the exam at additional times is not granted - and he will be able to try his luck again only after a year.

Who can improve their exam results this year?

Only graduates of previous years have the opportunity to improve their exam results without waiting for next year - they can retake the Russian language or specialized mathematics in additional autumn terms.

Many people believe that a Unified State Exam participant who has passed the threshold but did not pass the exams well enough can, of his own choice, retake one of the exams in order to improve his scores. Unfortunately, this is a myth - for such cases, the rules for passing the Unified State Exam do not provide for a second attempt.

Is it possible to retake the Unified State Exam in a year?

The right to retake the Unified State Exam for people who have already graduated from school is practically unlimited. After a year, you can retake the Unified State Exam in any number of subjects – both compulsory and elective.

By this time, a former student has already received the status of a “graduate of previous years” and can:

  • improve your result in a single subject by retaking only it (the results of other tests are valid for four years);

  • retake all subjects;

  • change your “profile” and take exams in other disciplines;

  • If the university admissions committee awards additional points for your final essay, you can retake it too.

Graduates of previous years can take exams either in the early or in the main period - at their own choice, but they cannot take exams twice in one year.

Is it possible to retake the Unified State Exam if I have already entered a university?

You can retake the Unified State Exam more than once, regardless of how long ago you graduated from school. This can be done by students, graduates of technical schools and lyceums, and people who already have higher education.

Therefore, if a graduate did not get enough points for admission to the “dream university” and took the documents to a less prestigious educational institution, or was disappointed in the chosen field of study and wants to radically change the field of study, student status will not become an obstacle.

The only “but”: when applying to take the Unified State Exam, a graduate of previous years must present a school leaving certificate - and the original documents are kept at the university. In this case, you need to clarify in advance with the dean’s office what you will need in order to temporarily receive a document on education. As a rule, universities issue original certificates against receipt for a short period of time without any problems. When submitting documents to retake the Unified State Exam, the certificate is not submitted, but only presented - so it is enough to receive it in your hands for just one day.
