Who is Archangel Michael?

Michael is the supreme commander, the commander of all the angels who serve the Lord. The name itself (the Hebrew meaning is “like God himself”) testifies to its high importance in the Orthodox world.

The Archangel is considered the conqueror of devilish forces, the deliverer of Heaven from fallen spirits. He patronizes warriors fighting lawlessness for truth.
