Reliable helpers in the fight against urethritis in men - a list of effective antibiotics. Reviews from doctors and patients about the drug Nolitsin: brief instructions Prevention of kidney diseases

In the presence of various diseases of the genitourinary system, a drug that successfully copes with harmful microorganisms can be prescribed. Nolitsin instructions for use provide complete information about the correct use of the drug. Thanks to such a remedy, it is possible to achieve good results even where most drugs () are powerless. However, do not forget about contraindications and possible consequences of overdose.

Since there are many pathologies caused by bacteria, recovery of patients is not possible without the use of antimicrobial drugs. Often patients who are forced to take certain medications ask: Is Nolitsin an antibiotic or not?

When asked whether Nolitsin is an antibiotic, doctors answer in the affirmative. This is an antibiotic drug that belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones. Its description, in particular the method of application, is present in the RLS directory (Register of Medicines).

If Nolitsin is prescribed to a patient, then why is this done? Due to its bactericidal properties, Nolitsin () has a detrimental effect on a wide variety of types of microorganisms. When it is used, the DNA and protein synthesis of the cell of the pathogenic agent are inhibited.

The antibiotic Nolitsin helps to successfully combat:

  • Escherichia coli and dysentery coli;
  • salmonella;
  • staphylococci;
  • chlamydia;
  • mycoplasmas;
  • cholera vibrio;
  • gonococci and so on.

True, Nolitsin ( a drug that has a bactericidal effect) will not be effective in the presence of streptococcal or anaerobic infection.

How quickly does the drug take effect? Its absorption into the blood occurs in a short time, but food intake slows down this process. The maximum concentration in urine is reached an hour or two after administration. The components that make up the medicine can act for 12 hours, after which the drug is decomposed into metabolites and further excreted from the body naturally (with urine and bile).

The drug of the fluoroquinolone group, supplemented with detailed instructions, is available in tablet form. One blister contains 10 or 20 tablets (), coated with an orange film.

The active substance is norfloxacin. Each tablet contains 400 mg of the active ingredient.

Among the excipients () present in Nolitsin, it should be noted, for example, the presence of:

  • povidone;
  • microcrystalline cellulose;
  • magnesium stearate;
  • silicon dioxide.

Norfloxacin is a synthetic compound that contains fluorine atoms, as a result of which the drug is much more effective.

Nolitsin has a very important advantage: its composition is not addictive. As soon as the medicine () is in the body, thanks to the active substance, it begins an active fight against both gram-negative and gram-positive microflora. It should be noted that the composition of Nolitsin has a destructive effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which many antibiotics cannot eliminate.

The drug Nolitsin is used when infectious and inflammatory processes occur that affect the pelvic and abdominal organs. The main thing is that the pathogen is sensitive to the drug.

What does the medicine help with?

The composition of the medication makes it possible to cope with:

  • cystitis;
  • urethritis;
  • pyelonephritis;
  • endometritis;
  • cervicitis;
  • chronic prostatitis;
  • uncomplicated gonorrhea;
  • acute course of dysentery and salmonellosis.

Nolicin, as an effective drug with antibiotic properties, has some other indications for use. The point is that the tablets ( solid dosage form obtained by compressing powders and granules containing one or more medicinal substances with or without the addition of excipients or obtained) Nolitsin serves as an excellent prophylactic agent.

Thanks to the medicine, you can avoid situations when:

  • urinary tract infections worsen;
  • so-called “travelers' diarrhea” develops;
  • in the presence of neutropenia, sepsis occurs.

If Nolicin is prescribed, it, like other medications, has contraindications.

The drug will not be prescribed if:

  1. Intolerance to antibiotic components.
  2. G-6-PD deficiency anemia.
  3. Pregnancy.
  4. Breastfeeding.

Also, the medicine in tablets is contraindicated in children under 18 years of age.

The drug Nolitsin, as stated in the instructions for use, can be prescribed with extreme caution to patients suffering from:

  • epileptic syndrome;
  • atherosclerotic vascular lesions;
  • acute and chronic diseases that relate to cerebral blood flow;
  • liver or kidney failure;
  • excessive sensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.

Many people come to doctors complaining of characteristic symptoms of inflammatory processes occurring in the bladder and urethra. To cope with cystitis and urethritis, first of all, you will need antibiotics (). Therefore, women and men are often prescribed Nolitsin, which contains the necessary components.

Typically, an acute illness that most often worries a woman is accompanied by:

  • pain in the lower abdomen;
  • frequent urination;
  • pain when emptying the bladder.

For acute urethritis in women ( female person) symptoms are observed in the form of:

  • sharp pain and burning sensation during urination;
  • strong discharge.

Nolitsin tablets for cystitis are prescribed according to a specific regimen. If there is an uncomplicated disease, Nolitsin for urethritis or inflammation of the bladder is used 400 mg (1 tablet) 2 times a day. There should be a 12-hour break between doses throughout the day. It is better to take the tablet before meals. If the antibiotic substances ( one of the forms of matter consisting of fermions or containing fermions along with bosons; has a rest mass, unlike some types of fields, such as electromagnetic), inhibiting the growth of living cells, most often prokaryotic or protozoan) is applied after eating food, you must wait at least 2 hours.

How to take Nolitsin for acute cystitis, accompanied by complications? In this case, treatment will last from 7 to 10 days. Nolitsin should be taken 400 mg twice a day. The dosage is maintained if cystitis or urethritis becomes chronic. The only thing is that with cystitis in women, the duration of the course increases - from 2 to 4 weeks.

If the antibiotic does not produce results, the doctor resorts to selecting analogues.

Many patients, especially women, suffer from damage by ureaplasma - microorganisms that cause ureaplasmosis. Ureaplasmas are gram-negative microbes with an additional lipid membrane and without DNA. According to doctors, ureaplasma can be detected in most people, but the pathogen does not always provoke disorders.

Opportunistic bacteria can become active as a result of:

  • weakened immunity;
  • unprotected sexual intercourse;
  • transmission of the pathogen from mother to child during the prenatal period or during the passage of the birth canal.

The location of ureaplasma is the genitals and urinary system.

Although Nolitsin can be taken for ureaplasma, the desired effect is not always achieved. This is explained by the lack of sensitivity of most bacterial strains to antibiotics ( substances that inhibit the growth of living cells, most often prokaryotic or protozoan), which makes its use impractical. But this does not mean that Nolicin should not be used. Pills ( solid dosage form obtained by compressing powders and granules containing one or more medicinal substances with or without the addition of excipients or obtained) is prescribed to many patients, but a bacteriological test is carried out before use.

Is it possible to get rid of inflammation of the prostate gland if a specialist decides to prescribe Nolitsin? The drug can cope with diseases of both bacterial and infectious origin.

Nolitsin for prostatitis successfully fights pathogens that provoke the pathology:

  • single-celled microorganisms;
  • staphylococci;
  • salmonella;
  • gram-negative elements;
  • chlamydia;
  • coli;
  • gonococci.

According to the instructions, it is prescribed to use the antibiotic before eating, after which it is washed down with water. The dosage in this case is universal - 400 mg 2 times a day. True, the amount of the substance can be changed depending on the type of prostatitis.

If the disease is caused by bacteria, you will need to take 2 capsules twice a day. The more serious the violation, the longer it will take to be treated. In the presence of chronic prostatitis, the tablets are taken in the same dosage for 10 days. The main thing is that there are no complications when using them.

Nolicin alone will not cure the disease. In order for a drug belonging to the group of fluoroquinolones to help better, the treatment of prostatitis cannot be done without physiotherapy, taking immunomodulators and massage. In addition, doctors often recommend resorting to the use of herbal remedies to maintain normal health and prevent recurrence of the disorder.

A kidney disease such as pyelonephritis is common, and it is diagnosed in patients of different ages. The pathology is characterized by microbial inflammation of the renal pelvis, as well as those organs that are nearby. The inflammatory process often spreads to the bladder.

For pyelonephritis, it is customary to give preference to antibiotics that effectively act on the pathogen. True, not every antibiotic manages to cope with the task. Nolicin is a medicine that is used for pyelonephritis. This drug is preferred because of its high effectiveness.

In most cases, the pathology has an acute onset. If therapy was not enough or it was untimely, the process becomes chronic.

Although pyelonephritis has a bacterial origin, penetration of the pathogen does not always lead to inflammation.

The disease is usually provoked by:

  • rapid decline in local defense forces;
  • congestive processes in the renal pelvis;
  • negative impact of acute calculi on the mucous membrane of the pelvis.

If Nolitsin is prescribed, the method of administration is as follows: for 2 weeks you will need to drink 400 mg of the medicine twice a day. When the tablets help and improvement is observed, which is confirmed by urine tests, the duration of the course is reduced to 10 days.

According to indications, sometimes the drug ( Drug (medicine, medicine) - a substance or mixture of substances of synthetic or natural origin in the form of a dosage form (tablets, capsules, solutions, etc.) used) can not be taken immediately, but only after obtaining data on the sensitivity of the pathogen to Nolitsin. This is possible in cases where the disease develops gradually. According to the annotation, rapid onset is an indication for immediate use of Nolitsin.

In order for the product to bring the desired results, you need to know about some nuances:

  1. While taking antibiotics that are in the fluoroquinolone group, you should definitely drink a glass of water.
  2. If you start taking Nolicin, you should not take iron, zinc or bismuth supplements at the same time.
  3. It is important to maintain intervals between doses.
  4. It is not recommended to skip doses of medication, nor to deviate from the norm. If a dose is missed, it is strictly forbidden to increase the dosage.
  5. For the remedy to help, therapy should be completed within the period prescribed by the doctor.
  6. The use of the drug is prohibited ( Drug (medicine, medicine) - a substance or mixture of substances of synthetic or natural origin in the form of a dosage form (tablets, capsules, solutions, etc.) used), which has expired.
  7. The pills can cause thrush in women, so it is recommended to use sanitary tampons.
  8. Due to the use of this antibiotic, the musculoskeletal system may suffer. Thus, tendon rupture cannot be ruled out. If pain occurs, the prescription of Nolitsin is canceled.
  9. While the tablets are being used, it is necessary to refrain from exposure to ultraviolet radiation and excessive physical activity. It is important to temporarily avoid driving and other activities that require quick reactions.
  10. If therapy begins to provoke new signs of the disease, you should inform your doctor. You will also need a consultation if there is no relief 2 days after the start of the treatment course.
  11. Before starting therapy, you must carefully study the instructions.

There are analogues of the drug Nolitsin, which doctors prescribe to patients if the drug used does not help or is prohibited for use. Patients suffering from diseases of the urinary system will be helped by a structural analogue, that is, a drug that has the same active component as Nolitsin.

Treatment can be carried out using:

  • Glyurenorm;
  • Normax;
  • Deprenorm;
  • Norileta;
  • Noroxin;
  • Sophasina;
  • Jutibida.

Separately, it is worth mentioning whether Nolitsin and alcohol are compatible. Unfortunately, most men drink alcohol even when treating certain diseases of the urinary system. Any dose of alcohol has a negative effect on the patient's condition.

Doctors warn: when using the antibiotic Nolicin, you should abstain from alcoholic beverages, otherwise a side effect will occur. Their compatibility is unacceptable.

  • dizziness;
  • fatigue;
  • loss of performance;
  • constant drowsiness.

It must be remembered that Nolitsin is a drug that has a sedative effect. In other words, taking it slows down the reaction. If you combine the use of antibiotics with alcohol, coordination of movements can be significantly impaired. In addition, the kidneys and liver will suffer, which are forced to withstand excessive stress due to taking other medications prescribed by the doctor.

As a result of combining alcohol and Nolitsin, the patient faces a coma. If you start using Nolicin with alcohol at the same time, the result of such actions is often swelling and severe allergic reactions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are a time when women should be very careful when taking certain medications. If the urinary system suffers, Nolitsin is strictly prohibited during pregnancy. This can be explained by the ability of the active substance contained in the drug to penetrate absolutely all organs of the expectant mother. That is, norfloxacin will also end up in the uterus.

Nolitsin can also harm a baby during breastfeeding (breastfeeding), since the drug passes into breast milk.

It happens that a woman does not know about pregnancy, but she drank Nolitsin. As practice shows, the use of antibiotics in the early stages rarely leads to fetal developmental abnormalities. In order to promptly identify incipient pathologies, a pregnant woman will need to regularly appear for examination.

Is taking an antibiotic compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding?

A doctor may prescribe Nolitsin if:

  1. When carrying a baby, the therapeutic effect of taking it in the early stages will exceed the possible harm.
  2. A woman who has a baby needs help. The only thing is that breastfeeding will need to be stopped until the substance is completely out of the body.

If the need for Nolicin arises, there is no reason to stop breastfeeding forever. To maintain lactation, a woman should constantly express milk.

The main active ingredient entering the body in excessive quantities can cause various side effects.

If the norm is not met, treatment with medication ( remedy, medicinal product, medication, medicine (novolat. praeparatum medicinale, praeparatum pharmaceuticum, medicamentum; slang) can turn into:

  1. Cramps, abdominal pain, heartburn, weight loss, nausea and vomiting, stool upset. Colitis, inflammation of the pancreas, and hepatitis cannot be ruled out.
  2. Sleep disturbances, dizziness, headaches, irritability, tinnitus, hallucinations. Some experience side effects such as convulsions, paresthesia and finger tremor.
  3. Leukopenia, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia.
  4. Decreased blood pressure levels.
  5. Allergic manifestations - rash, swelling, bronchospasm, vasculitis, anaphylactic shock. Sometimes an overdose increases sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation.
  6. Muscle and joint pain, inflammatory processes, thrush.

How dangerous is the compatibility of Nolitsin with certain medications ( remedy, medicinal product, medication, medicine (novolat. praeparatum medicinale, praeparatum pharmaceuticum, medicamentum; slang)? Patients who took an antibiotic with corticosteroids sometimes suffer from inflammatory processes in the tendon tissue and their ruptures. And when combining Nolicin ( a drug that has a bactericidal effect) with nonsteroids, a side effect in the form of seizures is possible.

Doctors strongly advise: take any medication only after prior agreement with a specialist, especially if you need to take several medications at the same time.

Otherwise you will have to deal with dire consequences.

Nolitsin is an effective antibacterial agent.

The drug is often used in the complex treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the urinary organs.

There are positive reviews from patients who have taken this medicine.

They indicate that the drug has many benefits. Experts also speak well of Nolitsin.

Description of the medicine and instructions for use

The drug contains the active substance –. The composition also contains auxiliary components.

Refers to antibacterial drugs that act on many pathogens. Has a wide range of effects.

This remedy is considered a very strong antibiotic. The drug has a large list of restrictions on use and adverse reactions. Therefore, Nolitsin can be used only as prescribed by a doctor. It is usually used when there is no effect from using less toxic drugs.

Alexander Nikolaevich, urologist

Nolitsin is a popular and effective antibiotic used for diseases such as pyelonephritis. I agree with the opinion that the drug is powerful in action, so its use can be justified by the attending physician only after receiving the result. In acute forms of the disease, it can be prescribed immediately.

Ekaterina Afanasyevna, nephrologist

Nolicin is a well-known antibiotic of the fluoroquinalone group. The drug is used to treat infectious diseases of the urinary organs. The effect of the tablets is observed within a day. I often use Nolitsin in my urological practice.

Elena Alexandrovna

I can identify the advantages of the medicine: fast effectiveness, inexpensive price. Among the disadvantages is that in some cases the desired result is absent, since bacteria develop resistance to the active substances of Nolitsin.

Anatoly Sergeevich, urologist

The antibiotic is powerful and effective, so it should not be used unless prescribed by a specialist. I prescribe it only for uncomplicated cystitis.

Oleg Pavlovich

Patients' opinions

Most patients took Nolitsin for urological problems. There are positive reviews about taking the drug for cystitis and urethritis.

Taken for cystitis

Reviews from patients indicate that the medicine helps well with cystitis.

I would like to note the high effectiveness of Nolitsin - the tablets helped after just one day, the pain in the lower abdomen and when urinating noticeably decreased, and the cramping stopped. The advantage of the product is also its relatively inexpensive cost - up to two hundred rubles.

Ruslana, 45 years old

During an exacerbation of cystitis, a urologist friend of mine prescribed me Nolitsin. Indeed, the medicine helps to quickly get rid of the manifestations of the disease. However, during the treatment, I observed unpleasant digestive symptoms - nausea, slight diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
Anastasia, 37 years old

The drug was recommended to me by a friend who was prescribed these tablets for inflammation of the bladder. I took them according to the instructions for four days, but did not feel any relief. The product did not help me at all, and even caused some adverse reactions. After consulting a doctor and switching to another drug, my health improved significantly.

Valentina, 40 years old

Cystitis often worsens from childhood. I took different remedies, but they only help for a short time. As soon as the weather changes, a cold starts, and I immediately get sick again. The last time I was prescribed Nolitsin for cystitis caused by some other bacteria. I've been taking the pills for seven days now. I follow the dosage and regimen of use, but I don’t drink much liquid. Adverse reactions began to appear in the form of muscle pain and fatigue. For now I will endure, because the signs of cystitis are noticeably disappearing.

Alexandra, 36 years old

For the fourth day now I have been running to the toilet every five minutes, but only a little urine comes out. I started feeling pain and couldn’t empty my bladder normally, so I went to the doctor. They prescribed Canephron and Nolitsin in the complex. The antibiotic helped in the evening. I hope that at this rate the recovery will come quickly.

Lyudmila, 30 years old

Not a very good drug. I used it twice and a terrible allergy began. The skin on my legs and arms was swollen and covered in rashes. I don't want to take these pills anymore.

Nikolay, 38 years old

But the drug helped me quickly. Signs of cystitis disappeared. I drank it for three days and did not find any side effects. Recently, the illness worsened again - and I started taking Nolitsin again. However, this time I took the pills a day longer. Signs of candidiasis appeared. Therefore, it is better not to exceed the course of treatment and dosage. It is advisable not to take such strong antibiotics without a doctor's prescription.

Oksana, 40 years old

Used for urethritis

Some patients were treated with Nolicin for urethritis. They note that the drug quickly eliminates the signs of the disease. There are also negative reviews about the medicine.

I took a course of Nolicin for urethritis a few days ago. Relief came only for a few days. The symptoms of the disease returned again. Tomorrow I will go for an examination. Nolicin does not always help and not everyone.

Lisa, 26 years old

I took pills when urinating more frequently, because I visited the toilet up to ten times in one hour. There was an adverse reaction - low blood pressure. But the drug really helped, and my blood pressure soon became normal. My doctor said that for better effectiveness of therapy, you should not drink alcohol and spend less time under the sun. If you follow all the recommendations, then there will be no side effects.

Ruslan, 50 years old

Used in the treatment of chronic urethritis. The product is very effective and eliminates signs of the disease, including frequent urination and pain. Among the advantages of the drug is its low price.

Olga, 49 years old

Nolitsin was prescribed to my grandmother for urethritis. The medicine relieved the inflammatory process within a few days. There were no side effects. Now my grandmother constantly stocks up on these pills.

Ekaterina, 34 years old

Of all the drugs that were prescribed to me for exacerbations of urethritis, only Nolicin came to my aid. The product is very good, inexpensive and high quality. Helps in complex treatment. I tolerated taking the pills well. I did not observe any side effects.

Maria, 43 years old

After taking it I had a terrible allergy. I took the pills six months before, but there was no such reaction. In addition, there is an increase in heart rate and chills after using the medicine.

Gulnara, 52 years old

For other urological pathologies

Many patients prefer this drug for its effectiveness and affordable price, but there are also side effects.

The drug is used to treat urinary tract infections and can also be used for diarrhea during travel. Has contraindications and side effects. It helps a lot, but you need to drink a lot of fluids while taking it, monitor your diuresis and read the instructions in detail.

Katya, 26 years old

I suffer from chronic urinary diseases and doctors prescribe mountains of expensive medications. I decided to try Nolitsin, it has the same active ingredient, but it is much cheaper. You need to drink in a course and not on an empty stomach, when you were pregnant, you interrupted the treatment. Overall, not bad.

Anastasia, 33 years old

Thus, Nolitsin is an effective antibiotic for the treatment of urethritis and cystitis. The medicine helps quickly based on patient reviews.

However, sometimes adverse reactions occur. There have been cases of lack of effectiveness from taking the medicine. Among the advantages of the drug is its relatively low cost.

Instructions for use classify Nolicin as a drug from the group of fluorinated quinolones. A modern antibiotic exhibits a powerful bactericidal effect against a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms. The drug is used in a variety of fields of medicine for the treatment of inflammatory and infectious processes, the pathogens of which are sensitive to the active substance of the drug.

Nolicin tablets - description of the drug

The active substance of Nolitsin is norfloxacin. The mechanism of its action is aimed at inhibiting protein synthesis in the microbial cell, which leads to the destruction of DNA chains and the death of the microorganism. The antimicrobial drug exhibits a bactericidal effect against many pathogens of infectious diseases:

  • Escherichia coli and dysentery coli;
  • enterobacteria;
  • shigella;
  • salmonella;
  • mycoplasma;
  • chlamydia, gonococci;
  • Klebsiella;
  • cholera vibrio;
  • Neiserius, etc.

At the same time, anaerobic bacteria and streptococci are insensitive to the action of norfloxacin.

After oral administration, the drug is quickly absorbed, penetrates well into all organs and tissues, and passes through the placental and blood-brain barrier. The maximum concentration of the active substance in the blood is reached within 1-2 hours. Eating may slow down the absorption of the active substance. The antimicrobial effect of Nolitsin lasts for 12 hours after taking the tablet. It is excreted from the body mainly by the kidneys, along with urine.

Nolitsin is produced in a single dosage form - in the form of round, biconvex tablets in an orange film coating. Each tablet contains 400 mg of norfloxacin and a number of auxiliary components. Nolicin 400 mg is packaged in blisters of 10 tablets and placed in cardboard boxes. The pack contains 1 or 2 blisters with tablets.

Indications for use

Nolicin tablets are prescribed for a wide range of infectious and inflammatory pathologies:

  • acute and chronic diseases of the urinary tract (pyelonephritis, urethritis, cystitis);
  • genital infections (chronic bacterial prostatitis, cervicitis, endometritis, uncomplicated forms of gonorrhea);
  • acute intestinal infections (salmonellosis, dysentery).

The drug is included in the complex treatment of bacterial gastroenteritis. For prophylactic purposes, Nolicin is taken to prevent traveler's diarrhea or septic complications in people with neutropenia.

Instructions for use

What dosage and how much Nolicin to drink is determined by the attending physician, taking into account the patient’s condition, the nature of the disease and possible contraindications. The instructions for the drug prescribe taking the tablets entirely 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after the next meal, washing them down with plenty of water.

The standard average daily dose is 800 mg, that is, 2 tablets of 400 mg in two doses (morning and evening). The time interval between taking the next dose should be 12 hours. This dosage is followed in the treatment of bacterial prostatitis, uncomplicated cystitis, gastroenteritis and for the prevention of sepsis.

When treating gonorrhea (uncomplicated), you can take a single “loading” dose of the drug - 800-1200 mg or take tablets according to the standard regimen (1 tablet twice a day) for 3-7 days.

In order to prevent traveler's diarrhea, you should take 1 tablet of Nolitsin the day before departure and then adhere to this dosage regimen throughout the entire trip (but no more than 3 weeks).

For patients with impaired renal function and renal failure, the single dose of the drug is reduced by half when taken twice or it is recommended to take the full dose (400 mg) once a day. In persons with functional renal impairment, it is not necessary to change the dosage regimen of the drug.

How long should I take Nolitsin? The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease. On average, the course of treatment takes 1-2 weeks; if necessary, the doctor can extend it. The longest use of the drug is recommended for the prevention of relapses of infectious diseases of the genitourinary tract. If exacerbations occur more than 3 times a year, Nolacin is taken 1/2 tablet at night for 3-6 months. In order to prevent sepsis, the drug is prescribed for a period of up to 2 months. When treating chronic prostatitis, tablets are taken for 1-1.5 months.

Treatment of cystitis with Nolitsin takes an average of 3-5 days. With an uncomplicated course of the disease, this period is enough to achieve a therapeutic effect. In addition, in such a short time, the toxicity of the drug practically does not appear, so adverse reactions do not develop. Reviews of the use of Nolitsin for cystitis indicate that the drug quickly copes with the symptoms of the disease, stops the inflammatory process, and relieves pain and pain when urinating.

The same period (up to 5 days) is allotted for the use of the drug for acute manifestations of bacterial gastroenteritis. To eliminate the symptoms of proctitis, cervicitis, and urethritis, a single dose of Nolicin at a dosage of 400 mg is sufficient.

Contraindications

All restrictions on taking an antibacterial agent can be divided into absolute and relative.

Absolute contraindications include:

  • individual intolerance to norfloxacin and other drugs from the group of fluoroquinolones;
  • periods of pregnancy and lactation;
  • congenital deficiency of a special enzyme (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase);
  • age up to 18 years.

Among the relative contraindications, the presence of which does not imply a complete ban on the drug, are conditions such as a tendency to allergic reactions to acetylsalicylic acid, atherosclerotic changes in the vessels of the brain and cerebrovascular accidents, renal and liver failure, as well as manifestations of epileptic syndrome (including anamnesis). Such conditions require a balanced approach to treatment with Nolicin. It is prescribed with extreme caution, in individual dosages and under the supervision of a physician.

Nolicin is prohibited for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. During these periods, the drug should be prescribed only based on vital signs, and only in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk of negative consequences for the fetus. If there is a need for treatment during lactation, breastfeeding is stopped and the baby is transferred to artificial formula.

Adverse reactions

During treatment with an antimicrobial agent, undesirable symptoms may appear from various body systems. Most often, adverse reactions occur from the digestive system, which are expressed:

  • nausea, vomiting;
  • lack of appetite;
  • a feeling of bitterness in the mouth;
  • the appearance of epistric pain;
  • symptoms of pseudomembranous enterocolitis;
  • increased transaminase activity;
  • changes in blood parameters and increased coagulability.

Common side effects include the urinary system. There is an increase in the volume of urine (polyuria), harshness when urinating, the release of salts, protein or blood in the urine, manifestations of glomerulonephritis (inflammation of the kidney tissue).

On the part of the nervous system, taking the drug provokes headaches, insomnia, fatigue, increased anxiety, unreasonable fears, dizziness, tinnitus, irritability or depression. In severe cases, severe reactions are possible - convulsions, drop in blood pressure, fainting, hallucinations.

Side effects that are much less common are allergic reactions, heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias, tachycardia), symptoms of vasculitis, inflammation and rupture of tendons, joint pain, candidiasis or the development of malignant erythema.

If any of the above symptoms appear, you should stop taking the drug and consult your doctor about the further course of treatment and the possibility of replacing the drug.

During treatment with Nolicin, the patient is advised to drink more fluids and monitor the course of diuresis. Before prescribing the drug, it is necessary to first determine the sensitivity of microorganisms to the active substance, since some pathogens show resistance to norfloxacin. In this case, there will be no effect from using the drug.

When treating pyelonephritis, it is recommended to combine Nolitsin with herbal medications (for example, Canephron). An antibiotic should not be prescribed simultaneously with antihypertensive drugs to avoid a sharp drop in blood pressure. When used together with antacids that reduce the acidity of gastric juice, a time interval of 2 hours should be observed between doses of the drugs.

Good to know

Treatment with Nolicin should not be combined with alcohol intake. Ethyl alcohol in combination with an antibiotic can provoke severe allergic reactions or lead to a decrease in performance due to feelings of severe fatigue, dizziness, loss of strength, and drowsiness.

Analogs

If necessary, Nolitsin can be replaced with analogues containing the same active substance. This list includes such drugs as Norbactin, Normax, Sophasin, Renor, Yutibid.

The decision to replace is entirely the prerogative of the attending physician; you should not select analogues on your own, as this can lead to undesirable complications and unpredictable consequences.

Cost of Nolitsin

The price of an antimicrobial agent in pharmacies depends on the number of tablets in the package. Nolitsin 400 mg (10 pieces) costs from 160 rubles, a package of the drug of 20 tablets is sold at an average price of 300 to 350 rubles.

The prostate gland (PG) plays an important role in the functioning of the male reproductive system. Inflammation of the pancreas is common and often leads to gland dysfunction, as well as unpleasant complications (infertility and pancreatic cancer). Pathologies are often accompanied by urethritis and vesiculitis, and in old age – pancreatic adenoma. Treatment of inflammation with drug therapy is effective. Many antibacterial drugs have been developed, but the susceptibility of pathogen strains to them is steadily decreasing over time. It is important to create drugs to which the microflora develops resistance very slowly.

The drug "Nolitsin" (generic name - Norfloxacin) has a wide spectrum of action and effectively fights various infectious pathogens. Information about the peculiarities of using the drug Norfloxacin for prostatitis will be useful to many men, since at least 35% of men in Russia have this pathology.

The drug of the fluoroquinolone group uses norfloxacin as an active ingredient. In addition to norfloxacin, the product contains other excipients, and the composition of the components used and their content may vary slightly between different manufacturers. The medicine has broad antibacterial and bactericidal properties.

Nolitsin is produced only in tablet form (the tablet contains 400 milligrams of norfloxacin). The tablets are coated with an easily soluble coating (usually orange). The package may contain 10 or 20 tablets.

Norfloxacin destroys the DNA of pathogens, preventing the synthesis of proteins in them. As a result of destabilization of the DNA chain, pathogenic organisms die. The drug removes cells affected by infection from the body, regardless of the area in which they are localized.

The drug effectively fights against the following representatives of pathogenic microflora (the list is incomplete):

  • single-celled microorganisms (for example, mycoplasmas);
  • staphylococci;
  • shigella;
  • bacteroids;
  • salmonella;
  • chlamydia;
  • Escherichia coli and dysentery coli;
  • gonococci.

The active components of Nolitsin affect both gram-positive and gram-negative representatives

harmful microflora. The medicine does not destroy streptococci and anaerobic bacteria, which do not require oxygen for their development.

Nolitsin does not form drug dependence (the patient does not become addicted to the drug). The taken drug enters the stomach, and the active substances are absorbed into the blood. The maximum content of these substances in the blood is observed 60–120 minutes after consuming Nolitsin. The effect of the medicine lasts approximately 12 hours. Nolicin is excreted in urine (32%) and bile (30%) throughout the day.

It should be taken into account that the drug can penetrate the placenta and also reach the baby through the milk of a nursing woman.

Nolicin is taken on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before meals), the tablet should be washed down with still water. The dosage prescribed by a specialist in the field of urology depends on the medical history, the specifics of the inflammatory process, and the presence of concomitant diseases.

The drug is effective in the treatment of many infectious diseases (for example, urethritis or pyelonephritis). Doctors often recommend therapy with Nolitsin for prostatitis; how to take the drug should be determined by the attending physician.

Typical dosage regimens are described in detail in the instructions. The most general regimen involves taking one tablet dose (400 milligrams) twice a day for 1–2 weeks (if necessary, the doctor increases the duration of the course).

When treating chronic inflammation of the prostate gland in bacterial form, the drug is taken for 1–1.5 months (or even longer - up to three months). The duration of the course of taking Nolitsin is determined by the severity of the pathology, symptoms, as well as the causes of inflammation. The first results of taking the medicine are noticeable within a day after the start of the course.

Acute inflammatory process in the prostate gland can also be treated with Nolicin. In terms of the degree of action on pathogenic microflora, the antimicrobial drug, which has no analogue of natural origin, is not inferior to traditional antibiotics, so it must be taken with extreme caution (exclusively on the recommendation of the treating doctor).

Sometimes the daily dose of the medicine can be increased by the doctor to two tablets twice a day. The dose of Nolitsin should be halved for hemodialysis patients or patients with renal dysfunction (if creatinine clearance is less than 20 milliliters per minute).

Some features of the drug:

  1. A significant portion of drugs is excreted from the body by the kidneys, which helps destroy pathogenic microflora in the urine.
  2. The drug does not harm the liver.
  3. Sometimes Nolitsin is prescribed by a doctor before making a final diagnosis, since this universal remedy acts on a wide range of microorganisms.
  4. Severe symptoms of inflammation of the prostate gland disappear during the first day after starting to use the medicine.
  5. If a man has developed chronic inflammation of the pancreas as a result of self-medication in the initial phase of the disease, then Nolitsin is able to normalize urine output during repeated exacerbations (relapses).
  6. Nolitsin is a relatively inexpensive product (a package costs from 178 rubles).

Some lifestyle recommendations have been developed during the course of treatment.

  1. If a man does not intend to stop drinking alcohol for the duration of the course, then the doctor should not prescribe this drug.
  2. During the entire course of treatment, the patient should drink at least 2 liters of fluid per day.
  3. During the course of treatment, you should avoid consuming dairy products;
  4. During treatment, you should not engage in potentially unsafe activities that require attention and quick reaction (driving a vehicle, working with machinery).
  5. During therapy with Nolicin, prolonged exposure to solar radiation (do not sunbathe) should be avoided.
  6. You must immediately stop taking the medication (at any stage of the course) if discomfort (unpleasant sensations) occurs in the tendons.

Taking Nolitsin in 97% of cases destroys the most common cause of inflammation of the prostate gland - E. coli.

Taking the medicine is allowed after medical prescription and preliminary examination.

The medicine is prescribed for inflammatory pathologies of infectious origin:

  • for pathologies of the urinary tract (cystitis, pyelitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, kidney stones);
  • for infectious lesions of the genital organs (cervicitis, endometritis, inflammation of the pancreas);
  • with gonococcal infection;
  • with gastroenteritis of bacterial origin (shigellosis, salmonellosis).

The product is used for prevention:

  • relapses of infectious pathologies of the urinary system;
  • blood infections in people with a reduced content of neutrophils in the blood;
  • diarrhea in persons traveling in unusual conditions (to new countries or climatic zones).

It is possible to prescribe medication after surgical treatment of the genitourinary system (to exclude inflammatory complications).

Nolicin is a potent drug that has a number of contraindications for use.

The drug is not prescribed if the following factors are present:

  • hypersensitivity to norfloxacin (and other components of the drug);
  • insufficient levels of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • The patient is under 18 years of age.

The risk of unwanted complications after taking the drug increases if a person has a history of atherosclerotic lesions of cerebral vessels, cerebral blood flow disorders, epilepsy, kidney or liver disease, or an allergy to aspirin.

With such concomitant pathologies, the drug must be used with increased caution, that is, the doctor must weigh the potential benefits of taking the drug and the risks of possible complications.

Undesirable manifestations after taking Nolitsin occur quite rarely. The most common patient complaints are headaches, decreased appetite, hypotension, diarrhea, nausea, lightheadedness, unusual fatigue, sleep disturbances, and restlessness (which is sometimes accompanied by fear and irritability). The appearance of such symptoms is observed only in 7–12% of the total number of cases.

Other possible side effects include:

  • in urethral bleeding, dysuria, polyuria, crystalluria, glomerulonephritis, albuminuria;
  • in a transient increase in the activity of liver transaminases, lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase;
  • in confusion, ringing in the ears, depression, hallucinations;
  • in tendonitis, arthralgia, tendon rupture;
  • in violations of the frequency (or rhythm) of heart contractions, in the development of vasculitis;
  • in the occurrence of candidiasis (thrush);
  • in eosinophilia, leukopenia, increased creatinine levels in the blood plasma.

Allergic manifestations (swelling, skin rashes, nettle fever, itching, anaphylactic shock) are extremely rare.

Combining the drug with alcohol consumption aggravates the course of side effects, which often leads to the need for medical care in a hospital setting.

To reduce the likelihood of unwanted effects, it is necessary to be thoroughly examined before undergoing a therapeutic course of treatment. If these symptoms appear, you should stop taking the medication and additionally consult your doctor.

Not every form of urethritis requires treatment with antibiotics– in some cases it can be harmful. This group of drugs is used only for treatment.

It is divided into the following varieties:

  • Secondary urethritis, caused by complications of systemic diseases such as tonsillitis and pneumonia.

I would also like to note that urethritis does not happen from antibiotics, so you don’t have to be afraid and use it.

List of antibiotics for the treatment of urethritis

The choice of specific antibiotics for the treatment of urethritis from a type of bacterial disease. For the treatment of each of them there are the most suitable medications.

The causative agents of gonococcal urethritis have developed resistance to penicillin; the use of antibiotics containing this substance is useless.

But gonococci are vulnerable to the effects of cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones, represented by the following drugs:

Antiprotozoal drugs are used to treat Trichomonas urethritis.

Among them are the following drugs:

Antiprotozoal drugs significantly increase the body's susceptibility to the toxic effects of ethanol. Alcohol consumption during a course of antibiotic therapy in this group is strictly contraindicated.

Reference: One of the most unpleasant complications of antibiotic therapy is the development of candidiasis. Antibiotics reduce the body's defenses, which increases the risk of fungal formations.

Macrolides are used to treat chlamydial urethritis:

To treat nonspecific urethritis, broad-spectrum antibiotics are used: penicillins, phosphonic acid derivatives and others:

Additional measures

After completing the course, you can undergo therapy with immunostimulating drugs, since antibiotics have a negative effect on the immune system.

Physiotherapeutic procedures can complement the treatment of urethritis with antibiotics.

The simplest procedures are washing the penis and urethra with an antiseptic (furatsilin, etc.), taking sitz baths. Read about treating urethritis at home. Supplement therapy for the disease.

With chlamydial urethritis, tissue permeability may not be sufficient for antibiotics to act on bacteria. To increase their permeability, corticosteroids are used: dexamethasone, prednisolone and others.

Conclusion

Antibiotics are used to treat urethritis in cases where it is caused by bacterial infections. These can be infections that provoke sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, chlamydia), or systemic infections that cause complications in the genitourinary system (tonsillitis, pneumonia). Other forms of the disease are treated without the use of antibiotics.
