Indications, application and effectiveness of the candida solution for the oral cavity. Candide solution for the oral cavity and its use in children Candide 1 solution

Candide is a broad-spectrum antimycotic drug manufactured by the Indian company Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. ‘

For the treatment of the oral cavity, Candide is used in the form of a 1% solution for topical application, which is a colorless, transparent, viscous liquid.

The solution is produced in polyethylene dropper bottles with a plastic screw cap with a volume of 15 ml. The active substance is clotrimazole, an imidazole derivative. Glycerin and propylene glycol are used as auxiliary components.

Pharma-cology, -codynamics and -cokinetics

The drug has a local antimicrobial, antimycotic, and antiprotozoal effect.

The antifungal effect of the active substance is associated with a violation of the production of ergosterol, which is part of the cell membrane of fungi, as a result of which its permeability changes and, as a result, cell death occurs.

In small concentrations, clotrimazole has a fungistatic effect, and with an increase in dosage, it has a fungicidal effect. It mainly affects dividing and growing cells.

In high doses, the active substance acts on mitochondrial and peroxidase enzymes, which leads to the release of a large amount of hydrogen peroxide, which also contributes to cell lysis.

Clotrimazole is effective against:

  • dermatomycetes, including red trichophyton, flaky zpidermofila, causative agents of ringworm and microsporia;
  • mold and yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida;
  • causative agent of pityriasis or multi-colored lichen;
  • gram-positive bacteria, including streptococcus, staphylococcus and the causative agent of erythrasma;
  • gram-negative bacteria such as bacteroids, gardnerella vaginalis;
  • causative agent of trichomoniasis - vaginal Trichomonas.

Fungal strains with primary resistance to the action of clotrimazole are rare, it is not active only initially against Candida guillermondii.

When applied topically, clotrimazole is slightly absorbed through the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and practically does not have a referential effect.

Beware Candida mushrooms!

Candide in the form of a 1% topical solution is used to treat or. The disease is caused by yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, which are part of the normal human flora.

They are found on the skin, on the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx, in the vagina, in the intestines in 80% of the human population. However, many do not have any symptoms of the disease.

A short and unpleasant acquaintance

Most often, oral candidiasis suffers. According to statistics, 20% of babies under one year old have had thrush, and some more than once. It is believed that children endure candidal stomatitis more easily.

Thrush also occurs in adults. Especially often it develops in patients who are forced to wear: under them, favorable conditions are created for the reproduction and growth of microorganisms.

Quite often it appears as a result of concomitant diseases that lead to a decrease in immunity, among them HIV infection, diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and adrenal glands.

Thrush can occur as a side effect of taking a number of drugs: oral contraceptives, antibiotics, glucocorticosteroids, against the background of radiation therapy in cancer patients. Another cause of candidiasis can be hypovitaminosis and bad habits, such as drinking alcohol and smoking.

At the initial stage, the thrush looks like small white grains localized on the reddened inner surface of the cheeks.

After some time, they grow and become similar in appearance to cottage cheese. With the progression of the disease, plaque appears on the gums, tongue, palate, tonsils, the skin of the lips may also be affected, itching and pain appear, which intensify during meals.

Successfully copes with this problem 1% solution of Candida for topical use, which needs to be treated with affected areas.

Treatment regimen

10-20 drops (0.5-1 ml) of Candida are applied to a cotton swab or cotton swab and used to treat the oral cavity 3-4 times a day. day.

But some doctors recommend treating the affected areas more often. Improvement in well-being, as a rule, is already observed on the 3-5th day from the start of therapy, but treatment should be continued until the symptoms are completely gone. Usually the course is 7 days.

Candida 1% topical solution is for oral use only.

In a severe form of the disease and the absence of the effect of treatment, therapy in a hospital setting is recommended. Avoid getting the solution in your eyes.

Restrictions and contraindications

An absolute contraindication is individual intolerance to the drug. Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation.

The drug is approved for use in women during childbearing and breastfeeding, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the harm to the fetus or newborn.

There is no reliable data on whether clotrimazole is excreted in breast milk.

The drug is approved for use in pediatrics, in which case the scheme is prescribed by the attending physician on an individual basis.

Side effects and overdose

The drug is well tolerated by most patients. With individual intolerance, urticaria, redness of the mucous membrane, burning, tingling and blistering in the area where the drug was applied are possible.

There is also Candide ointment

In this case, you need to stop using the drug and consult a doctor to change the treatment regimen.

When applied topically, an overdose is unlikely. In case of accidental ingestion, anorexia, dyspeptic disorders, stomach pains, liver dysfunction, hallucinations, drowsiness, skin allergies, tamuria are possible.

With simultaneous use with other antifungal agents (Natamycin, Nystatin, Amphotericin B), the antimycotic activity of clotrimazole is reduced.

Clotrimazole does not cause mental retardation and does not affect the ability to drive a car.

Word to patients

How effective is the Candide solution for rinsing the mouth with thrush can be found by examining the reviews of ordinary people.

My son (21 days) had thrush in his mouth, the child became capricious, began to refuse to breastfeed. On the advice of a doctor, she began to lubricate the child's oral cavity with Candida solution.

She wrapped her finger with cotton wool soaked in the solution and treated the affected areas. Already after the second time, all the symptoms of the disease disappeared, but the doctor ordered to use the drug further so that the thrush would not appear again.

Natalia, Kazan

At the age of 11 months, a child began to have severe thrush, the pediatrician prescribed a Candida solution. But every day the symptoms of the disease only intensified, and we had to go to the hospital, where the child was given injections of antifungal drugs intravenously. In our case, the drug was useless.

Albina, Moscow

I wear dentures, so I often suffer from thrush. When it appears, I treat the oral mucosa with a solution of Candida, improvement, as a rule, is observed on the 2-3rd day from the start of treatment.

Rosa, Volzhsk

Purchase and storage

Store the pharmaceutical product in a dark place inaccessible to children at a temperature of maximum 25 degrees. Shelf life 36 months.

The average price of Candida in pharmacies is about 250 rubles, it is sold without a doctor's prescription, the pharmaceutical industry produces a number of analogues of the drug, for example, Clotrimazole, Candibene, Canison and others.

Perhaps every mother at least once in her life had to deal with thrush in the mouth of her little child. This phenomenon is rather unpleasant. The kid is naughty, refuses to eat, does not sleep well. This is due to the fact that he is trying to tell his mother that he is not feeling well, his tongue hurts, the inner surface of his cheeks, the sky, his throat. It may be painful for him to swallow, drink milk or formula. Therefore, it is very important to cure the baby from thrush as soon as possible.

The concept of the disease

To continue the conversation on this topic, you need to understand what thrush is and why it occurs.

Candidiasis (thrush) is a disease caused by a fungus called Candida albicans. Even in a healthy person, it inhabits the mucous membranes and skin, but it does not harm the body. However, if any of the unfavorable factors arise (lack of vitamins and microelements, decreased immunity, and so on), the fungus begins to actively grow and multiply.

In this case, a person develops a number of unpleasant symptoms. In a special risk group are small children (due to the imperfection of their immune system). In addition, they like to taste everything, thereby introducing excess pathogenic microflora, upsetting the balance in the oral cavity.

After starting the infectious process, the child begins to feel itching and burning, pain when swallowing and during a conversation. Also, a white thick coating appears on the mucous membrane. Outwardly, it is very similar to cottage cheese and even has a similar smell. If treatment is not started on time, this can lead to a number of complications. To avoid this, you need to start treatment with an effective antifungal agent as soon as possible.

It is good that the modern pharmaceutical market offers the consumer an effective drug that can quickly cope with the disease. This is a solution for the treatment of the oral cavity - "Candide". It is produced by the Indian pharmaceutical company Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Consider this drug for the treatment of thrush in the mouth in newborns in more detail. This information is useful for every parent to know.

Description

"Candide" is a solution for treating the oral cavity, which has a pronounced antifungal effect and contains clotrimazole at a concentration of 1%.

The drug is a colorless, transparent, viscous solution. For the treatment of the oral cavity, this consistency is convenient enough, since it can be easily applied to the affected areas of the mucous membranes.

Release form

The solution is packaged in plastic bottles of 15 ml. For more convenient use, there is a dropper at the end of the bottle, which helps to accurately dose the medicine. The bottle is closed with a screw cap.

Mechanism of action

The drug is 1 percent. This substance is an imidazole derivative, which has a whole spectrum of actions:

  • antimicrobial,
  • antiprotozoal,
  • antifungal.

In this article, we will analyze the last of them in detail. The drug has its detrimental effect on fungi of the genus Candida due to a violation of the production of a substance such as ergosterol. It is one of the main components of the cell wall of the fungus. With a lack of ergosterol, the permeability of structures increases, and the cell dies.

Equally important is the amount of "Candida" applied to the affected areas. The fact is that at higher concentrations, the agent destroys even the enzymes of the fungal cell, destroying it even faster. However, this does not mean that you need to use the entire bottle at a time. The most noticeable therapeutic effect occurs when using the drug strictly according to the instructions!

Indications for use

Due to this mechanism of action, "Candide" (oral solution) has a wide spectrum of action and has a detrimental effect on various microorganisms. This should include:

Correct use of the drug

Treatment of thrush in the mouth in newborns is the main area of \u200b\u200buse of the solution. As pediatric practice shows, approximately 20% of children under the age of one have at least once suffered this disease on themselves. Some of them even twice or thrice. Therefore, it will be useful for each parent to know how to use the oral solution - Candide.

About 1 ml (this is about 20 drops) of the drug should be applied to a cotton swab or stick. After that, you need to carefully treat the affected areas of the mucous membranes. This needs to be done 3-4 times a week. In advanced cases, it is possible and more often.

The answer to the question of how to use the Candide solution is contained in the instructions. It is also indicated that under these conditions, the improvement of well-being occurs already on the third day. However, despite this, therapy should be continued for a week.

You need to be prepared for the fact that the child will cry, scream, break out, remove other people's hands from his mouth. But you, as a parent, should remember that the course must be completed. If this is not done, the disease will return with renewed vigor, because the fungus will not be completely killed.

Side effects

As a rule, "Candide" - a solution for treating the oral cavity - is well tolerated, without any problems. In rare cases, local adverse reactions may occur in the form of itching, burning or tingling in the places where the drug was applied. Most often, such a reaction is short-lived and disappears without a trace within a few minutes.

If the symptoms are very severe or do not go away, blisters appear, and so on, you should immediately stop using the drug and seek the help of a doctor in a medical organization.

Before using the drug, you must read the instructions "Candida" for children for the oral cavity. The fact is that in practice there have been cases when the patient accidentally swallowed a sufficient amount of the solution, which can cause the development of complications from the digestive system. In this case, there is nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, impaired stool, and so on. Therefore, it is very important to monitor how much of the drug you apply to the child's mucous membrane so that he does not absorb its excess.

Contraindications and restrictions for use

Like many other external medicines, "Candida" in the form of a solution of clotrimazole has one absolute contraindication - the presence of individual intolerance to the components of the drug. Otherwise, it is possible to develop a powerful allergic reaction that is life-threatening for the patient (in the absence of timely medical care).

With extreme caution, the drug should be used by pregnant and lactating women. For children, the remedy is allowed, but only when prescribed by the attending pediatrician.

special instructions

Do not use Candide solution to treat a vaginal fungal infection or skin lesions. For this, there are special forms of release based on clotrimazole (candles, ointment, cream).

Do not abuse the medicine and apply it to the affected areas of the mucous membranes for longer than a week.

Terms and conditions of storage

"Candide" (solution for the treatment of the oral cavity) should be stored at a temperature not lower than 2 degrees and not higher than 25 degrees Celsius. In addition, you do not need to leave the packaging in the sun.

Otherwise, the solution loses its healing properties.

Adults need to ensure that young children do not have any access to the drug.

The shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Terms of dispensing from pharmacies

The tool belongs to over-the-counter drugs, therefore it is freely available to the buyer on pharmacy shelves.

When dispensing Candida, the pharmacist will not ask for an appointment from the doctor.

The cost of the drug

The exact price will depend on many factors: region, city, specific pharmacy organization and much more. On average, one package of "Candida" (clotrimazole solution) will cost the buyer 300-350 rubles.

Fungal infection candidiasis is quite common in infants. For many mothers, this infection is familiar as thrush that occurs in the oral cavity. The disease appears as a result of the attack of various pathogenic microorganisms.

If nothing is done, the infection can lead to more complex diseases. To combat thrush, Candide was created - effective drops for treating the oral cavity. How to apply them and what properties does this tool have?

Thrush and its symptoms

Thrush most often appears against the background of acute respiratory viral infections or acute respiratory infections, as well as after normal regurgitation, intestinal dysbacteriosis, etc. The reproduction of the fungus in the mouth of bacteria of the genus Candida contributes to the acidic environment that appears in the baby.

Obvious signs of thrush appear in the form thick white coating on the child's tongue and gums. They indicate thrush in the baby's mouth. For newborns, thrush is a fairly common occurrence, but it can occasionally occur in adults.

At the very beginning of the manifestation, thrush does not cause inconvenience to the baby. Gradually, the foci of infection begin to spread, which gives the baby a lot of discomfort. He starts act up, sleep poorly and eat.

Modern medicine offers many means of combating thrush. An excellent remedy for the treatment of thrush is the drug Candide. Before starting treatment it is very important that the pediatrician diagnosed and only after that you can start using Candide.

What causes candidiasis

Within the normal range, every adult and child has a fungus in the oral mucosa, as well as in the digestive organs. When the fungus begins to actively multiply, danger arises. The reasons for the reproduction of the fungus are as follows:

Candidiasis can also be caused by violations of sanitary and hygienic norms. Very often, the infection is transmitted to children during childbirth from the mother.

Candide and its main properties

The antifungal agent Candide is a broad-spectrum drug. This medicine belongs to the group of imidazole derivatives. Release form of the drug: solution; gel; vaginal tablets.

Most often, patients use the drug in the form of a solution. The basis of the drug is, most importantly, the active substance on the synthesis of argosterol. It is one of the parts of the cell membranes of the fungus. Thanks to this substance, an excellent therapeutic effect is achieved.

Candida for the oral cavity actively works in diseases of the mucous membrane in relation to many diseases, the causative agents of which are mold fungi, dermatophytes and other types of yeast-like fungi

When applied by irrigation of the oral cavity, the product deeply penetrates into soft tissues. It reaches maximum therapeutic concentrations. At the same time, the minimum part of the active substance is absorbed into the human blood.

Indications for use

Usually the drug Candide is prescribed to patients with affected oral mucosa. Despite the fact that the drug has a wide spectrum of action, it is mainly prescribed for stomatitis. Due to its properties, it quickly after application copes with fungal pathogens of the genus Candida.

In a short time, the drug inhibits the development of fungal colonies. It's even effective. with a compromised immune system. In connection with this advantage, it is prescribed for patients with diabetes mellitus, with a severe form of oncology, and even for HIV-infected people.

Sanitation of the oral cavity with Candida is also performed with a preventive purpose. It should not be used more than three times a day.

Contraindications and side effects

Since this drug is not absorbed by the mucosa when applied topically, it is often prescribed for babies with stomatitis. It can be safely used for babies. If there is individual intolerance component composition of the drug, then it can not be used.

Doctors recommend using it with caution for stomatitis in infancy. The substance clotrimazole is a very active ingredient, so doctors advise follow the recommended dose drug.

In case of intolerance to individual components of the drug, it may occur allergic reaction. It can manifest itself in the form of burning and tingling in the area of application of reddening of the mucous membrane. If such symptoms appear, then it is necessary to stop taking Candide.

Instructions for use

It is necessary to use Candide solution only as directed by a pediatrician. When he sees the clinical picture and laboratory tests, he will be able to draw up an optimal treatment plan for the child. The remedy has proven itself in the treatment of stomatitis.

The main advantage of Candida is its localized action. Foreign components in the composition of the drug do not enter the child's blood stream. This property is especially important when it is necessary to treat infants.

To make treatment more effective for a sick child need a special diet. Several foods should be excluded from the diet:

  1. Milk.
  2. Confectionery.
  3. Sugar.
  4. Yeast bread.

Should limit consumption kefir and cottage cheese. It is desirable to increase the rate of consumption of protein foods - meat, fish, eggs. You also need to eat more fruits and vegetables. If we are talking about a breastfed baby, then this diet should be followed by a nursing mother.

Treatment of the oral cavity must be carried out 2-3 times a day. Procedures should be performed within 2 weeks. For adults, the dosage is 20-30 drops. For children, the dose should be reduced by 2-3 times. The pediatrician himself selects the dosage for the child, taking into account his age.

Already after 3-5 days you can see positive results. To secure a good result treatment cannot be interrupted. The full course is at least 10 days.

Before applying the solution clear the affected area from the white patch. To do this, use a soda solution. A teaspoon of soda is added to a glass of boiled water and the mucosa is treated with a moistened bandage wound around a finger.

After treatment of the mucosa, Candide can be used. Doctors recommend treating infants with soda solution up to 5 times a day. The use of Candide is allowed only twice a day- in the morning and in the evening.

Prevention of candidiasis in children

It is necessary to strengthen the immunity of the baby, more to walk outside. Try to make a menu for him more thoughtfully, taking into account his age.

Teats and bottles should always be kept clean and adults should not put them in their mouth before giving them to a baby. Often it is adults who become carriers of bacteria of the genus Candida.

To avoid illness, follow the usual rules of hygiene:

  • Boil bottles.
  • Be sure to wash the bath after bathing.

Other components of drugs: benzyl alcohol, petroleum jelly, paraffin, cetomacrogol, E218, PET, sodium derivatives E-214, water and other components.

Medicinal properties

The therapeutic effect of Candide is due to clotrimazole, the main component of all types of this antifungal drug. The substance belongs to an imidazole derivative. It has powerful antimicrobial, antiprotozoal, trichomonacid actions. The mechanism of action of the substance lies in its ability to block the formation of nucleic acids, proteins, erosterol in pathogen cells. As a result of this, irreversible changes occur in the structure of the shell, which causes the death of the pathogenic microorganism. These properties determined the actions of Candide and what it helps from. Its purpose is the treatment of diseases of the skin and mucous membranes caused by mycotic infection. The drug acts on fungi of various types: dermatophytes, yeast, yeast-like, mold, dimorphic, Trichomonas vaginalis, etc.

Clotrimazole is poorly absorbed: only 0.5% is absorbed after application. The substance has the ability to accumulate in the upper layer of the epidermis, easily penetrates into the keratin that forms the nail plates. It is excreted from the body by the kidneys and intestines within 3-5 hours.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

Clinical studies of the properties of the drug and experiments have not shown the negative impact of Candida components on the development of the fetus. However, it is not recommended to use any pharmaceutical form of drugs in the first trimester. The possibility and necessity of prescribing an antifungal agent in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters is determined individually. The course of therapy in this case should be monitored by physicians.

It is advisable for lactating women to refrain from using Candida. If it is not possible to replace it with another drug, then it is recommended to suspend breastfeeding for the duration of therapy.

Contraindications

All types of Candida cannot be used for treatment if the patient has an increased susceptibility to the components during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Candide ointment, solution and powder, according to the instructions for use, are contraindicated in:

  • Skin tuberculosis
  • chickenpox
  • Herpes simplex
  • syphilis
  • Dermal reactions after vaccination.

Precautionary measures

Candide preparations are intended only for external and local treatment. During the procedures, do not allow drugs to get into the eyes. If this happens, it is necessary to rinse them with water, and in case of development of painful symptoms, contact an ophthalmologist.

Only a pediatrician can prescribe Candide for newborns and children under 2 years of age.

When using Candida B, it must be borne in mind that it contains glucocorticoids. If you use the cream on large areas of the body or in occlusive dressings, the risk of systemic absorption increases. After applying tight bandages that do not allow air to pass through, skin reactions occur in the form of a rash, folliculitis, or pyoderma.

Cross-drug interactions

When combining drugs with drugs containing natamycin or nystatin, the effectiveness of clotrimazole may decrease. In turn, it weakens the effect of the antifungal drug Amphotericin B and other polyene antibiotics.

Side effects

Medication in the form of a solution for the oral cavity is perceived by the body, as a rule, normally. In people with hypersensitivity to the constituent components, side effects are possible - redness of the mucous membrane, burning or tingling at the treatment site, urticaria. In these cases, drugs should be canceled and a doctor should be consulted about further therapy.

The use of a solution for external use can cause swelling of the mucous membranes of the vagina, discharge, frequent urination, disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, pain during sexual intercourse, burning in the vagina or penis.

Candide B is well accepted by the body. In rare cases, in addition to burning and tingling at the site of application, acne, stretch marks, decreased dermal tone, hypopigmentation, and hypertrichosis may develop.

Overdose

All Candide preparations have low absorption, so the possibility of overdose is extremely small. It is assumed that it can be in the form of enhanced side effects.

In case of swallowing a large amount of solution:

  • Nausea, bouts of vomiting
  • Gastralgia
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Lethargy, drowsiness
  • skin allergy
  • hallucinations.

When these signs appear, it is necessary to wash the stomach, in severe cases, specific treatment is prescribed.

Pharmacodynamics

Clotrimazole - an imidazole derivative, has an antifungal effect, which is associated with a violation of the synthesis of ergosterol in the cell membrane of fungi, which leads to damage to the cell wall. Ergosterol is the main component of the cytoplasmic membrane of fungi. Clotrimazole acting as an inhibitor of the enzymatic conversion of 2,4 methylenedihydrolanosterol to dimethylsterol, provitamin D2, which is the main blocker of the cytoplasmic membrane of the fungus. The minimum fungicidal concentrations of clotrimazole contribute to the leakage of intracellular phosphorus mixtures into the environment with concomitant degradation of cellular nucleic acids and potassium leakage. Other mechanisms of antifungal action of clotrimazole include rearrangement of plasma membrane ATPase and other membrane enzymes, changes in membrane transport and fatty acid metabolism.

Clotrimazole has a wide spectrum of action, is effective against dermatophytes, yeast fungi, has an antimicrobial effect on the causative agent of erythrasma, streptococci and staphylococci, and is effective against Trichomonas.
