World tanks hd system requirements. World of Tanks system requirements

Quite a long time has passed since the advent of Blu-ray discs, but they have not become a mass storage medium. At the same time, the high-definition format is very interesting - even films that have already been watched take on new colors. But due to the large amount of data, storing a video library of Blu-ray images on HDD and even more so on SSD drives is still a luxury. In addition, not every mobile PC, be it a tablet or a laptop, can boast a matrix with a resolution sufficient for Full HD viewing. Most likely, these restrictions are temporary. Video with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels becomes interesting to anyone who upgrades an old monitor or purchases an advanced laptop. And for one of your favorite films, it’s not at all a pity to allocate fifty or a hundred gigabytes.

Many players allow you to use automatic deinterlacing mode. It compensates for the comb effect that occurs when viewing interlaced video. If you're watching a 1080i picture, the player may automatically begin post-processing the image, smoothing out harsh jagged artifacts. On a PC with sufficient resources, this will only improve the image, but on a weak configuration it can cause frame drops and other troubles. Therefore, if you want to get maximum performance, turn off the deinterlacing option in the player.

Disabling deinterlacing in the popular VLC player

And finally, and most importantly, choose the player that will work best with your configuration.

⇡ MPC-HC 1.7.1

  • Developer: MPC-HC Team
  • Operating system: Windows
  • Distribution: free
  • Russian interface: yes

The free MPC-HC player (aka Media Player Classic - Home Cinema) is the first player we recommend testing HD video playback on. Many problems when playing high-definition movies arise due to incorrect operation of the player and the codec installed in the system. Unlike many other audio and video players, MPC-HC uses an integrated set of media codecs.

It has a huge number of settings, supports hardware decoding of many formats, including H.264, works correctly with multiple monitors, is very fast - and you don’t have to pay money for it. During playback, the player can show statistics, so that the smoothness of video playback will not be subjective.

The performance of MPC-HC depends largely on which renderer is used. To go to the list of these modules, you need to select “View → Settings” in the program menu, and then go to the “Playback → Output” section. To get started, use the Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR) option. If it causes lag, try enabling an alternative option, such as Overlay Mixer Renderer or Video Mixer Renderer 9.

If your PC confidently plays any Blu-ray images, do not rush to think that this is the limit. What can you say about the next generation of clarity - Ultra HD? This format of the future is about to come to us; the first televisions and camcorders have already appeared on sale. The Ultra HD format includes two standards: 4K UHDTV (2160p) and 8K UHDTV (4320p).

Media Player Classic Home Cinema already officially supports video playback in 4K standard, so you can enjoy images with a resolution of 4096x3072 pixels.

If, of course, your video system allows it. By the way, if you have such an opportunity, then you can appreciate the advantage of the ultra-high definition standard right now - you can find many videos in Ultra HD quality on YouTube.

⇡ Splayer 3.7

  • Developer: SPlayer.org
  • Operating system: Windows
  • Distribution: free
  • Russian interface: yes

Many of the players that can play Full HD videos have an incredible number of options and complex interfaces. This often leads to a decrease in the speed of the players themselves. Against their background, Splayer looks like a motor boat next to a multi-deck motor ship. It has every chance to become the fastest player on your PC.

It has a clear division of operating modes based on performance. If the computer configuration is sufficient, “Quality mode” is used. It includes support for shaders, which can be used to significantly improve the picture, such as applying deinterlacing, adjusting brightness, or balancing color rendering.

If in this mode the player cannot cope with high resolution and the video is jerky, you need to enable the “GPU hardware acceleration” option. If this does not help, you need to enable “Performance mode”. In this case, any minor image processing will be disabled, and the quality will suffer - in the name of speed.

Corel WinDVD Pro 11

  • Developer: Corel Corporation
  • Operating system: Windows
  • Distribution: shareware
  • Russian interface: yes

Why this particular player? Firstly, it is universal. This player plays any disc, any content - Blu-ray 3D in high definition 1080p, AVCHD, DVD, as well as all the latest video formats. The program supports 3D video with NVIDIA 3D Vision shutter glasses and XpanD polarizing glasses, and in the boxed version the user will also find a free pair of anaglyph glasses - a small thing, but nice.

Watching videos on Corel WinDVD Pro 11 (a full-featured trial version is available for the program), you can see that the picture on this player is very “alive”. The fact is that the program uses a special algorithm to increase the frame rate, due to which the dynamics of scenes are perceived more naturally: while on conventional players in dynamic scenes clarity is lost and blurriness occurs, the blur compensator built into Corel WinDVD Pro 11 increases FPS and interpolates intermediate frames.

The player also has functions for enhancing clarity and adjusting saturation. And of course, the player makes the most of the capabilities of graphics processors - NVIDIA, Intel and AMD.

⇡ ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater 6

  • Developer: ArcSoft
  • Operating system: Windows
  • Distribution: shareware
  • Russian interface: yes

This program is not just a disc player. This is a multimedia shell with a file manager capable of performing various functions. The program interface is optimized for touch screens; in addition, the player is convenient to use with remote controls.

The player's proprietary engine can increase the resolution of the original video on the fly - in some cases, this creates the feeling of a clearer picture.

It is also worth noting the great possibilities for playing movies in 3D format - Blu-ray 3D, AVCHD 3D, 3D DVD and so on. The image can be played as a vertical or horizontal stereo pair, and also visualized as an anaglyph picture. Using proprietary ArcSoft Sim3D technology, the ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater player makes it possible to convert ordinary 2D recordings into a three-dimensional image in real time. Essentially a useless option, but maybe someone will be interested. The program even has parental control options that can be used to restrict access to movies of a certain category.

Using ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater, you can remove noise from a picture, compensate for frame shake, and apply a dynamic backlight effect.

If you use the player on a laptop, it will optimize its performance by monitoring the charge level. By default, the player disables all Windows interface visual effects to improve playback performance.

⇡ What if it still slows down?

If so, then it’s time to radically reconsider the approach to the problem - it seems that we cannot do without an upgrade. But before you tighten your belt, it's worth making one last attempt to reduce the load on your computer when playing high-definition videos. If you tried to play original content from Blu-ray, the volume of which amounts to tens of gigabytes, but you saw a slide show instead of a video, try searching the Internet for “light” versions of these discs - compressed versions or, simply put, rips. Well-made rips are almost as good as the source in terms of image quality, but at the same time have a lower bitrate, which makes processing and displaying the image on the monitor noticeably easier.

It also makes sense to try running a recomposed container - a remixed version of the video. BD-remux movie images can take up much less space than original Blu-ray content and can be processed faster by your computer. The gain in volume is obtained due to the removed “garbage” in the form of advertising and additional materials, unnecessary audio tracks and other things.

If all of the above does not help, and you still don’t have enough money for a new computer, you can think about purchasing a stationary multimedia player. Some of them will not only delight you with smooth and fast playback of heavy Blu-ray images, but also allow you to enjoy a host of other functions - from Internet surfing to games. But this is a topic for a separate article.

If your PC, which is quite powerful by recent standards, for some reason refuses to play high-definition video normally, this is not yet a reason to think about an expensive upgrade. Our tips will help solve this problem.

When you buy a computer, you expect it to last you at least a few years. In most cases, this happens, and all this time it copes perfectly with the tasks set during the acquisition. But with modern high-definition media formats, which are often found on the Internet and in which your new video camera records videos, problems arise. However, you shouldn't send your computer to a landfill or undertake an expensive upgrade. We will tell you how to configure various software media players and codecs so that high-quality video is played back without stuttering even on a low-power netbook or a desktop PC that is not too old, but not suitable for these tasks by the manufacturer.

Not all high quality videos are equally heavy

1080p video provides more than double the resolution compared to 720p (1920x1080 vs. 1280x720 pixels). Therefore, processing it is a more resource-intensive task. But picture resolution is not the only characteristic of a video file that affects the difficulty of its playback. No less important is the degree of compression used in the codec and determines the bitrate of the stream. You often come across HD video with a bitrate of 1–2 Mbit/s - even low-power processors can process such a stream. However, on the Internet you can also find real 1080p “heavyweights” - rips from Blu-ray discs, which differ little from the originals in both quality and weight. Their volume is 30–40 GB, and the bitrate can reach 25 Mbit/s. It’s not easy even for a dual-core processor to reproduce such a stream without delays, and you definitely can’t do it without the help of a graphics accelerator. But even in this case, the correct codec will help.

Latecomers - do not miss

Set up SMPlayer. To make HD video playback smoother, check the "Allow hard frame drops" and "Use CoreAVC" checkboxes. If your computer's graphics card does not have a dedicated HD video processing engine, then the bulk of the work falls on the CPU, which is not very well suited for this. As a result, the video stream arriving at it does not have time to be processed quickly, and frames begin to overlap one another. As a result, the video seriously slows down, and the CPU load reaches 100%. This unpleasant problem can be solved in various ways. One of them is to allow the player to skip late frames. This will indeed cause frame drops, but you'll hardly notice image distortion.

VLC media player can handle HD video if you check the “Skip frames” option in the “Video” section of the settings. The difference between the standard 25 and, say, 22 frames per second is invisible to the naked eye, but frame overlap will no longer bother you.

The second method is to disable the video deblocking function in the player - software image smoothing. Moreover, in some cases, to solve the problem of HD video “brakes”, such a setting will be quite enough.

How to do this in different players. In the SMPlayer application, depending on the situation, you need to go to the “Settings | Settings | Performance” check the box next to “Allow frame drops” or “Allow hard frame drops”. In the same place, switch the “Loop Filter” to the “Pass (always)” mode.

The ffdshow configuration from the K-Lite Codec Pack allows you to fine-tune HD video playback. For example, in the “Miscellaneous” section, enable the “Skip frames on delay” function. In the case of VLC media player, it is necessary in the “Tools | Settings" in the "Input and Codecs" section, in the "Skip H.264 inloop deblocking filter" item, select the "All" mode, and in the "Video" section, check the "Skip frames" setting.

If you are using the K-Lite Codec Pack, then you need to go to the Start | K-Lite Codec Pack" launch the "ffdshow video decoder configuration" application and in the "Miscellaneous" section enable the "Frame drop on delay" and "No H.264 deblock on delay" functions.

Use all processor cores

The vast majority of HD resolution files are encoded in the H.264 standard. This codec is also called MPEG-4 Part 10 and AVC. It has the highest compression ratio, which becomes a problem for low-power processors: without a special algorithm (built-in hardware decoder), they are forced to unpack such a video container on the fly. A variety of decoders can be used to play H.264 video, and not all of them do their job equally well. Some solutions are only suitable for powerful desktop processors, and such options are not suitable for economical and portable PCs.

But there are also real masterpieces of program code that can pull 720p and even some 1080p videos on weak PCs. Thus, the Intel Atom N270 and N450 - typical netbook processors - are physically single-core, but thanks to HyperThreading technology they have two virtual cores. You should take advantage of this advantage by choosing a special H.264 decoder that supports multi-threaded video processing. CoreAVC, which is built into VLC media player by default, is deservedly considered the best. Those who prefer SMPlayer should make sure that CoreAVC is used: in the “Settings | Performance" the "Use CoreAVC" option must be activated.

Media Player Classic HC handles almost any file format. But just in case, check that in the settings under “Playback | Output" is set to VMR-9. More experienced users tend to use the ffdshow media decoder. In it, you can switch to a multi-threaded codec by running “ffdshow video decoder configuration” and selecting “Codecs | H.264/AVC" parameter "ffmpeg-mt" ("mt" means "multithreading").

The recommendations in this section are primarily addressed to Windows XP users. The Windows 7 operating system already contains a set of media codecs for H.264 playback, as well as a very powerful Windows Media Player. It may seem cumbersome to some, so we also offer you a “lighter” alternative - Media Player Classic HC.

The video card will unload the processor

Modern graphics accelerators cope with high-quality video playback much better than many central processors. The reason for this is the presence of a built-in hardware video decoder. Unfortunately, Intel GMA 950 and GMA 3100 graphics chips do not have such a module, and all the work of video decoding will have to be done by the CPU. However, in the case of modern video cards of netbooks and nettops, such problems do not arise. First of all, these are NvidiaION (GeForce 9400M), Intel GMA 500 (an integral part of the Atom Z platform) and GMA X4500MHD. Chips of all ATI Radeon HD series, which are rarely used for low-power PCs, also cope well with high-definition video. But with the release of the AMD Brazos platform, the situation has changed for the better.

Important point. Windows 7 supports GPU-based HD video decoding natively. XP users, even if the video card supports hardware decoding, will have to use special codecs and players for this. For example, you can use the free Media Player Classic Home Cinema to play HD video in AVI, MPEG-4 and MKV formats.

CyberLink PowerDVD. To play HD movies, simply enable hardware acceleration. If you're looking to get a Blu-ray drive to watch HD movies, the best solution for displaying 1080p video is CyberLink PowerDVD (www.cyberlink.com). This is perhaps the only application that will allow you to easily play video information encoded on a Blu-ray disc via the HDMI port on your Full HD monitor. Unfortunately, only the Ultra 3D version (about 2,600 rubles) is capable of this. However, when purchasing a retail version of the drive, it is usually included in the kit. PowerDVD contains codecs optimized for video processing by the graphics adapter. After installing the package, enable it in the Settings | Video" option "Hardware acceleration". In addition, we recommend updating your video card drivers to the latest version.

Installing a hardware decoder

The Broadcom Crystal HD card is the solution to the problem of playing Full HD video on a low-power netbook. Netbook users often regret the inability to upgrade their video card to watch movies in Full HD. Therefore, Broadcom has released a special Crystal HD video decoder (about 1,600 rubles) in the form of a card with a Mini PCI-E interface, which completely handles 1080p video processing. Such a slot is available, for example, in the HP Mini 110 netbook. If there is no free slot, then you can replace the Mini PCI-E Wi-Fi adapter with a USB dongle, and install Crystal HD in its place. Before purchasing it, owners of computers with first generation Intel Atom processors (model N270) are advised to update the BIOS firmware, otherwise the operating system will not recognize the new device. Installing Broadcom drivers not only activates the hardware decoder, but also adds the necessary codecs to the system.

Unfortunately, it will not be possible to “make friends” with VLC and SMPlayer players. For this purpose, it is better to choose Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player, which work with the same decoders for the entire system. Windows XP users only need to go to the “Codecs | H.264/AVC" of the ffdshow video decoder customizer and select "Broadcom Video Decoder". The Windows 7 Preferred Filter Tweaker application will help you apply the desired decoder for the Windows 7 operating system. As a result, Broadcom Crystal HD allows you to achieve Full HD quality, using only 50% of the Atom CPU.

Speeding up YouTube

The experimental service www.youtube.com/html5 allows you to watch online videos on devices without Flash support Video hosting YouTube is becoming a site of daily visitation. But it publishes a lot of 720p video, which, coupled with resource-intensive Flash technology, becomes an impossible task for low-power PCs. Thus, in windowed mode, YouTube videos are usually displayed in 360p format, but when switching to full-screen mode, the resolution automatically increases to 720p, and the display of the image noticeably slows down.

Adobe has provided hardware acceleration for online content in Flash Player 10.1. The same video cards that were discussed in the previous section of the article can take over most of the load from the CPU. If the load on the central processor has not decreased, you should check whether the checkbox in the “Options” menu of Flash Player 10.1 is checked next to the “Enable hardware acceleration” item. If your connection speed allows it, there will no longer be any delays when watching 1080p videos on YouTube.

If all else fails

If the computer is equipped with hopelessly outdated components and there is no way to “make friends” with HD video, you will have to settle on a very high-quality DVD video picture. With this, you can always encode or convert the video to the desired resolution, which your PC or portable device can accurately handle. Free programs such as XMediaRecode (www.xmedia-recode.de) or Miksoft Mobile Media Converter (www.miksoft.net) will help you with this. In addition, Google has launched a mobile version of the YouTube website (www.youtube.com/html5), completely devoid of Flash. Here all files are presented exclusively in 3GP format.

Mobile video Full HD

Manufacturers of low-power devices are actively moving towards the desires of consumers to watch high-definition content. Therefore, modern ARM architecture chips have acquired an additional DSP (Digital Signal Processor) unit. Designing an energy-efficient processor to perform a single function is much easier than designing a multi-purpose solution. The coprocessor does not take part in other tasks, but is intended exclusively for video processing. This solution allows you to play 1080p movies without going beyond the permissible limits of power consumption and thermal package of chips in mobile phones and multimedia tablets. So, if you have a DSP coprocessor, video with 720p quality can be viewed on smartphones with a processor frequency of only 600 MHz. These characteristics are found in flagship models of Android smartphones, Nokia devices based on Symbian^3 and iPhone 3GS. So far, only mobile processors with a frequency of 1 GHz and higher can handle 1080p resolution - they are equipped with the iPhone 4, iPad, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire and smartphones based on Windows Phone 7.

Conclusion

High-definition video support is not exclusive to super-powerful computers. By choosing the right drivers, codecs and player, you will forever forget about frame overlap and the lag between the picture and the sound. You can achieve acceptable 720p video quality on any netbook with an Intel Atom processor by enabling frame drop mode and deactivating deblocking. You should also be sure to use all processor cores. A special graphics adapter from Broadcom can handle 1080p resolution.

World of Tanks is a beautiful game with quite decent textures, which not every computer can handle at maximum graphics settings. Many even have to install so-called fixes, which reduce the quality of graphics many times over, turning tanks into moving cubes with a muzzle.

The regular version of the game, of course, will not allow you to mock tanks like that, so you will have to download them from third-party resources

Some say that it is better to play this way than not at all, while others are sincerely surprised how it is possible. You could choose between minimum, maximum and other mediocre textures at any time. But the earth moves and it happened. In update 9.8, the game client was divided into 2 parts: SD and HD. Each has its own pros and cons.

In World of Tanks, the SD client is not very demanding; it receives fewer updates, as does the game itself.

It is designed for less powerful computers, whose users usually install fixes. Therefore, the administrators decided not to bother and generally removed the ability to set textures to the maximum value, in general - an economy version.

In World of Tanks hd client, the system requirements are designed for players whose computers have solid characteristics that can handle not only the maximum graphics settings, but also their improved version.

They can reproduce in the game every screw, bolt, every scratch received on the battlefield

Show the unit in all its glory, be it the spectacular shine of the metal, battle marks, traces of long-term use of the tank or other minor but demanding elements of the tank’s plating.

The choice of version will be provided during the installation of the game, but in the future it will be possible to change the decision in favor of lower settings or in favor of World of Tanks hd client whose system requirements are increased many times over. If the choice is in favor of HD, then the downloading of the missing files will immediately begin, which will cause an increase in the size of the game and, as a result, a decrease in free space on the hard drive. If you switch from HD to SD, nothing will be downloaded, but the size of the game and the use of free disk space will noticeably decrease.

It is worth mentioning that updates will be downloaded to the selected and installed version of the client.

Mods for the old version will work on both the SD and HD versions of the client, but no one is immune from mods that conflict with each other, and if inappropriate mods are installed, the game will crash and crash, as before.

Hi all! Alexander Glebov is with you, and in this article I will tell you how I assembled a computer for wot using one order of computer help. World of tanks has quite serious requirements for a computer, and the customer’s budget was limited, he wanted to play and save money, what came out of this read more...

So, one fine day, one girl wrote to me asking me to pick up a computer for gaming. I, in turn, clarified what games I would run on the computer and whether a monitor was needed. In response I received an answer that the games will be as follows:

  1. World of Tanks.
  2. MineCraft.
  3. Counter-Strike global offensive.

Naturally, the most demanding game on the computer from this list is World of Tanks. It was from her that I began to dance. First you need to understand the hardware requirements.

World of tanks computer requirements

WoT is a modern game that is constantly developing, improving, improving picture quality, and as a result, the requirements for the computer are serious. Let's see what kind of computer we need to have to play wot.

Minimum system requirements for your computer

OS version: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10
Central Processing Unit (CPU): Minimum 2 physical cores and support for SSE2 technology
Random access memory (RAM/RAM): 2 GB
Video card:
  • Nvidea GeForce 6800
  • AMD ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 256 MB
  • DirectX 9.0c support.
Sound card: Any that supports DirectX 9
HDD: Minimum 19 GB of free disk space
Internet speed: 256 kbps

Of course, you can run World of Tanks on the minimum requirements, but either the frame rate will be low or the graphics will not be very good. So, it is still better that the computer meets the recommended system requirements.

From the two tables above, we understand what world of tanks computer requirements are. But there is one thing, the minimum requirements are just to run the game, but we want to play in comfort. The recommended requirements for a computer are not included in the concept of a budget computer. One Intel Core i5 costs about 13 thousand rubles. After analyzing a bunch of information, I came to the conclusion that I would build a computer on Intel Core i3.

Computer configuration for world of tanks

As I wrote at the very beginning, you need a budget computer, but also with the ability to play comfortably. Core i5 didn’t fit into the budget, so as a result I ended up with this gaming computer for world of tanks:
