Fairy tales - Ukrainian fairy tales - Folk tales - Wolf, dog and cat.

There lived a man and he had a dog. While the dog was young, it guarded its owner, but when it grew old, its owner drove it out of the yard. She wandered around the steppe, caught mice, and ate whatever she came across.

One night a wolf met a dog and said:

-Where are you going, dog?

- Yes, while I was young, the owner loved me, because I looked after his household, but when I got old, he drove me out of the yard. The wolf asks:

- Dog, maybe you’re hungry?

“I want to,” he says. The wolf says;

- Let's go, I'll feed you.

Went. They walk along the steppe; The wolf spotted the sheep and sent a dog:

“Go,” he says, “see what’s grazing there?”

The dog went, came back and said:

- Let them die. If we fill our teeth with wool and don’t eat enough, we’ll remain hungry. Let's go further.

They were coming, the wolf saw geese.

“Go ahead,” he says, “and look, dog, what’s grazing there?”

The dog went, looked, came back and said:

- Let them die. Let's stuff our teeth with feathers and not get enough. Let's go further, he says.

“Go,” he says, “dog, look what’s grazing there?”

The dog comes running and says:

- Horse.

“Well, this will be ours,” says the wolf. We approached this horse. The wolf digs the ground like this and drives himself into a rage. Then he says:

- Look, dog, is my tail shaking? The dog looked.

“It’s shaking,” he says.

“Now look,” says the wolf, “have my eyes become drowsy?”

“We’ve become sleepy,” says the dog.

Then the wolf rushes, grabs the horse by the mane, tears it apart, and eats it together with the dog. The young wolf is soon full, but the old dog gnaws and gnaws and won’t eat anything. The dogs came running and drove the wolf away.

A dog is walking and along the road he finds a cat just as old as her - he is catching mice in the steppe.

“Hello,” says the cat! Where are you going?

- Yes, I’m wandering around like that. While I was young, I worked for the owner, catching mice, but now I’m old, I don’t see mice, the owner didn’t like me, won’t let me eat, he drove me out of the yard, so I wander around.

The dog says:

- Well, let's go, brother cat, I'll feed you. (The dog already wants to do like the wolf.)

They walk together; The dog saw the sheep and sent the cat:

“Run,” he says, “brother, look who’s grazing there?”

The cat ran, looked and said:

- Damn them! Let's stuff our teeth with wool and not eat enough. Let's go further. They're coming. The dog saw geese.

“Go,” he says, “brother, look who’s grazing?”

The cat ran, looked, and said:

- To hell with them! Let's stuff our teeth with feathers and not get enough.

“Run, brother,” the dog says to the cat, “look who’s grazing?”

The cat went and looked and said:

- Horse.

“Well, this will be ours,” says the dog, “we’ll eat enough.”

The dog began to eat the earth, got angry and said:

- Look, cat, is my tail shaking?

“No,” the cat answers.

The dog again scratches the ground to get angry, asks again:

- Well, are you shaking already? Say it's shaking. The cat looked and said:

— Started to shake a little.

- Now let’s shake the damn horse! - says the dog. And let the dog rake the earth, asks the cat:

- And look, brother, my eyes have become sleepy? And the cat says:

- Eh, you’re lying! Say: you've become dazed! - the dog asks. Then the dog will get angry and jump on the horse! And how the horse will give her a hoof on the head! The dog fell and his eyes popped out. And the cat ran up and said:

- Oh, brother, how your eyes look so sleepy!..

Once upon a time there lived an old man, he did not live richly. The old man also had an old dog - he slept almost all the time. So the grandfather drove her away.

The dog went wherever its eyes looked. She went into the forest and looked at the wolf sitting. The wolf says, let’s be friends and live together. That's what they decided on.

Here they lie somehow in the shade, but there is passion, as you want.

The wolf tells the dog, go to the field, look, maybe there is something there to profit from.

The dog went and looked and said there were geese walking there. The wolf replies that there will be a lot of trouble with their prey, but the food will be of little use. But the dog could at least eat the goose, he wants something to eat.

The dog has gone, he looks, the pigs are walking. The wolf again says that there will be a lot of trouble with them, but little profit. They lie there, waiting.

An hour later the wolf sends the dog to the field to look. She says that the horse grazes there. The wolf replies that now let's go, this is just right.

The wolf found a puddle, fell into it, then let's roll in the sand. He stood in front of the dog and asked, do you recognize me now? The dog didn't recognize it.

We approached the horse. The wolf stood in front and shook himself off. The horse's eyes bulged, he closed his eyes in fear, and the wolf strangled him. They ate together.

The dog says to the wolf, I learned how to hunt from you, I’ll go and try it myself. He walks and looks at the cat coming towards him. She tells him, come with me, I’ll teach you how to hunt cattle. He agreed.

They lay down under a tree. The dog sends the cat to see who is there in the field. The cat comes and says there are geese there. No, a lot of hassle, little use.

She also sent the cat to the field. He comes back, he says, pigs. No, that won't work either.

Once again I sent the cat to the field, he came back and said, the horse is grazing there.
This is just right, says the dog.

She plunged into a puddle, rolled around in the sand, and asked the cat if I disguised myself well? The cat answers, no, it’s bad. The dog tells him, you’re answering me wrong, tell me it’s good. He says, okay, good.

They went to the horse. The dog stood behind the horse, let’s shake it off, and as soon as the horse gave it a hoof, it rolled off dead. The cat says, now you’ve disguised yourself well!
That’s the end of the fairy tale, and whoever listened – well done!

The child did not fall asleep?

The Belarusian folk tale “The Wolf, the Cat and the Dog” has ended; if the child does not fall asleep, we recommend reading a few more fairy tales.
