Puppy's first papers

Owner small pet together with a fluffy lump breeder are given important documents on the dog, which "certify the identity" of the puppy. One of the first is the so-called puppy card, in which the dog's metric fits. Before a dog gets a pedigree, he must be given such a card. The second is a veterinary passport for a dog, in which all vaccinations are entered. Why are they needed and how to get them?

Puppy card (metric)

This primary passport for a dog is valid until it reaches 15 months of age, after which it can be changed. Usually the replacement is done with a pedigree confirmed by the RKF (Russian Cynological Federation). As a rule, it is issued by a breeder, who necessarily invites a cynologist to evaluate the puppies and their compliance with breed standards.

The puppy’s metrics will certainly indicate breed flaws, defects, animal color, gender, date of birth, as well as data on parents. It contains the name of the pet and information about the stigma of the puppy. A puppy card is considered valid if it bears the seal of the RKF, as well as the signature of the breeder.

There are situations in which the metric can be lost. In this case, it can be obtained by the number of the stamp on the puppy's body.

Veterinary passport

In addition to the puppy card, your pet will also need a second document. This is a passport for a dog, in which information about all vaccinations of a puppy is entered. Separately, data on chipping the puppy is entered, if such was carried out (or the number of the stamp).

It looks like an ordinary book, which contains 10-12 pages. It is done as follows: the date is entered in one column, and information about the manipulations performed is entered in the other. For correct filling there is a sample.

It is important to note that a veterinary passport for a dog can be done at the state vet. a clinic that inscribes everything that is required for its liquidity. The form also contains information about the owner (name, address, telephone number, etc.), according to the RKF. This passport is also important as the puppy grows up, since the information entered there still remains relevant.

International Veterinary Passport

If you are planning to travel abroad with your pet, you will need to make a document that allows the animal to leave the country. This is an international veterinary passport. It is issued specifically for the export of a dog abroad and contains information about vaccinations, the reproductive activity of the animal, etc. The difference from the usual passport for a dog is that it is filled out in two languages.

How to get it? To get started, you will need a form that you can get at the clinic, in the document for the dog you need to indicate the pet's name, color, date of birth. The passport is transferred to the clinic, where it is necessary to make notes about the vaccination of a puppy or an adult dog. Please note that the requirements for vaccinations in each country may differ, so it is good to find out which ones are required in your case. Without the necessary vaccinations, you and your pet may not be allowed to cross the border.

All information about the puppy or adult dog indicated by the veterinarian, and the signature and seal are put by the clinic. A dog's passport, properly executed, gives the right to move. Of course, and the export of the dog to another state. This is what an international veterinary passport looks like.

Pedigree RKF

The most important document for a dog is a pedigree. It is of great importance if you have a thoroughbred pet and you plan to participate with him at exhibitions (including export abroad) and breeding work. What is a pedigree?

A pedigree usually lists previous generations of your pet. In fact, this is a documentary confirmation of the data on the origin of the puppy.

Conventionally, it can be divided into three parts.

  1. The first of them indicates the color, breed, type of wool, nickname, date of birth, gender, brand or chip.
  2. The second part of the pedigree is dedicated to the owner, the data about the owner is entered here - full name, phone number, address. In the second column, at the request of the RKF, the name of the male who participated in the breeding mating is also indicated.
  3. The third part contains the name of the mother who gave birth to your pet. If there are none, then the pedigree will not be considered complete. It also lists the titles, if any, of the puppy's ancestors (i.e. champions, show winners, etc.).

How to get a?

Usually such paper is issued by the RKF. As a rule, before that, the owner of the dog has a metric, which contains all the necessary information, including for export abroad. Today there is no need to show the dog to the experts - it is enough to buy a thoroughbred puppy with documents. The most important thing is that the breeder is honest, since any data can be verified, including passports for the animal. So that you do not find yourself the owner of an expensive, but for some reason “defective” puppy, deal exclusively with proven dog breeders who will not let you down.

So, having received a metric approved by the RKF, the owner of a thoroughbred dog has the right to exchange it for a pedigree when it reaches 15 months. Without this exchange, the animal does not have the right to participate in breeding work, as well as exhibitions. RKF necessarily checks the correctness of the metrics and all data regarding the puppy. And only in this case the owner receives a pedigree for the pet.

Zero pedigree

If for some reason your puppy is without documents, you can try to get them done at the RKF. Among them important place assigned a zero pedigree - a document that indicates that your dog becomes the ancestor and it is from him that the breeding of thoroughbred individuals will begin. How to get such paper?

Obtaining procedure

This will require certification of the dog by three experts according to all the rules, so that the pet is recognized as a purebred. When assessed as “very good”, the dog can be given a zero pedigree of the RKF and breeding of the breed will begin with it.

List of documents for taking a dog abroad

In order for the dog to be exported abroad, certain documents for the dog may be required.

Video "Going abroad"

This video will talk about the international veterinary passport for four-legged friends for export abroad.

Sorry, there are currently no surveys available.

Shuraleva Natalia, veterinarian, clinic "Zoovet"

Veterinary passport issued at the first vaccination puppy/kitten and filled in by a veterinarian. The veterinary passport contains data about the animal (name, date of birth, breed, gender, coat color, special signs, for example, brand, electronic chip number, etc.), and its owner (name, address, contact number) (p. 1-2).

Marks on the annual vaccination are entered in special columns - the date of the vaccination is affixed, a special sticker supplied with the vaccine is pasted. The sticker is extinguished with the seal of the clinic and / or the personal seal of the doctor and is certified by his signature (p. 6-9).

A passport issued in violation of the rules may be invalidated (lack of stickers, dates of vaccination, and also if the vaccination data is certified by the seal and signature of unauthorized organizations - clubs, nurseries, etc., especially if we are talking on rabies vaccination).

A correctly executed veterinary passport containing information on timely vaccinations is a document on the basis of which a Veterinary Certificate is issued in the bodies of the State Veterinary Service. certificate Form N1 for the transport of animals in public land and air transport. The certificate is issued strictly 3 days before departure vehicle. As a rule, in order to obtain this document, it is required to provide veterinary documents (veterinary passport, certificate of chipping) and the animal itself for examination at the state SBBZH. Only state veterinary institutions are accredited for issuing certificates, while the vaccination procedure itself can be carried out in all veterinary clinics, as well as by private (licensed) veterinarians.

Attention! To receive a certificate, your pet must be vaccinated against rabies and other infections for at least 30 days before the planned date you riding, but not more than one year. Owners who take their pets on a trip should definitely know these numbers when choosing the optimal vaccination date.

Recover lost veterinary passport it is possible if there is information in which clinic and when the last vaccination was carried out. Subject to the rules for vaccinating pets, all information must be duplicated in special control and accounting logs.

According to modern legislation, all veterinary clinics that have a permit for preventive veterinary activities are required to submit appropriate reports on a quarterly basis. This reporting is stored in the bodies of state veterinary supervision for 10 years.

When transporting an animal within the Russian Federation, a veterinary passport with notes on all necessary vaccinations and treatments and a veterinary certificate in form No. 1 will be required. Please note: the validity of the certificate F No. 1-vet is five days, and it will need to be issued before the trip itself. The veterinary passport must contain at least timely rabies vaccinations.

Veterinary passport for travel abroad

An international veterinary passport is required. The main difference from a document valid within the country is the duplication in English of the title of the document, the data on the first page and the titles of the sections. There is no need to duplicate entries in the language of the country you are going to travel to. The easiest way is to immediately purchase a new passport - it is adapted for international travel.

Neither an ordinary nor an international veterinary passport needs to be periodically altered - only once a year to update its registration in the veterinary service (usually done along with annual vaccinations).

What data is entered in the veterinary passport?

When filling out, be sure to indicate:

  • information about, it is better if a special sticker with the chip number is pasted;
  • names of vaccines and preparations, their series and other information. Labels should be affixed whenever possible, especially for international travel;
  • date of vaccination, expiration date of the vaccine.

Rules for issuing a veterinary passport

In many cases, the veterinary passport is issued by breeders and goes to the owner of the animal when buying a pet. Thus, it is enough to fill it in timely and correctly. By law, a veterinary passport is issued by a veterinarian state clinic at the place of residence of the owner and the animal. For issuance, only the desire of the owner is required. It is more convenient to issue the so-called new passports - there are fields for notes and special marks, there is duplication in English. In the old forms there is only a place for specifying information about treatments.

Please note: all marks are certified by the signature and seal of a veterinarian or clinic. Without this, the information will not be taken into account when controlling at the border or elsewhere. Not even the seal of the kennel club will do.

Veterinary passport form for the Russian Federation and the EU

For trips to foreign countries, the information on the first page of the veterinary passport and the names of the sections will need to be duplicated in English. In most cases, veterinary clinics have ready-made "books" of passports that you just have to fill out. But you can also purchase the form yourself by asking to fill it out and fill it out during the next visit to the veterinarian.

When crossing borders, only the information in the passport is strictly controlled. The design of the pages and the cover is not a basis for refusal to cross the borders, if all the vaccinations and treatments required in a given country are listed and certified with seals and signatures within the correct terms.

Customs declaration for a dog

Customs declaration does not apply to veterinary documents, but will be needed by everyone who plans to cross the border between the Customs Union and countries that are not part of it. It is presented together with a veterinary passport.

It is filled in by the owner himself, directly at the border (“red” customs corridor). You will need to provide information about the dog (breed, weight, estimated cost) and the purpose of transportation (commercial or non-commercial). There are no additional duties associated with the value of the animal indicated in the declaration, if it is being transported for non-commercial purposes.

Please note: in many EU countries, an attempt to follow a dog along the "green" corridor will entail a hefty fine.

Import and export of animals from the country

When exporting animals to non-CIS countries, they must have a veterinary passport with them. The owner's forgetfulness will result in a refusal to cross the border. But a number of other documents must be attached to the passport, filled in in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and the recipient country.

The veterinary certificate must indicate that the requirements of the importing country have been met. The route must also be indicated - the city from which the animal departs, where it is going and where it will arrive (if its return is planned). Before returning home, it is better to go through a veterinary control again, having received a certificate that the animal is healthy. If in the country where you visited, the pet did not receive any vaccinations, there will most likely be no additional entries in the veterinary passport.

If the stay was long and the dog had to be vaccinated or dewormed abroad, that's okay. Let the veterinarian paste special stickers from vaccines or other used drugs into the veterinary passport, sign and “repay” them with a personal seal or the seal of the clinic. This will be enough for the processing to be taken into account by the inspectors at any border.

Veterinary passport for exotic animals

A veterinary passport is also required for exotic animals, while its form remains standard - there is no need to look for special options for a turtle or jerboa. Make sure that all treatments are immediately indicated in it - it is far from always possible for a snake or a hamster to be vaccinated, but " backdating» such data are not entered in the veterinary passport. Please note that for different types the list of vaccinations and the required tests will also differ.

Transportation of animals on the plane

When planning an air flight, it is best to clarify the requirements for the transportation of animals in a particular airline. If the information is not available on the site, contact the carrier representative by phone and clarify the main points (optimally, if you are given a link to complete list requirements). Veterinary passport, most likely, will be checked at the airport, when passing through control. In the air transport itself, you will not need it. Its replacement, which will always be next to the animal, will be several special tags, one of which will contain information about the owner (contact details).

Transportation by rail: bring your veterinary passport

This is a popular option when traveling short distances. Transportation of large pets must be carried out in a separate compartment, in the presence of an accompanying person or owner, with properly executed documents. Their number necessarily includes a veterinary passport, the rest of the documentation will vary depending on the distance of the trip. In this case, the veterinary passport indicates not only that the pet has been vaccinated and processed, but also that it belongs to the person who transports it. If the veterinary passport is not issued in the name of the accompanying person, a power of attorney will be required. Otherwise, the animal may be seized for return to the legal (indicated in the veterinary passport) owner.

Payment for carriage

Most likely, the animal and the cage will need to be paid as additional baggage. This is true even if a small cat carrier is being transported, and apart from it you only have a light bag, i.e. dimensions and weight included in the ticket price are not exceeded. The fact of payment is confirmed by a special baggage ticket, which is issued at regular ticket offices. The opportunity to purchase such travel documents is also provided on most ticket booking sites.

Transportation of animals within the Russian Federation

When transporting within Russia, the animal will need a veterinary passport and a veterinary certificate (form No. 1). Another requirement is the microchipping of the animal. The introduction of a microchip is an inexpensive manipulation that can be performed in almost every clinic. The chip is best installed as early as possible. Make sure that the chipping mark is also made in the veterinary passport.

Marks in the veterinary passport about vaccination against rabies and other vaccinations

They turn to the marks in the veterinary passport about vaccinations Special attention and when moving an animal within the Russian Federation or Customs Union, and when exporting it to the EU countries. Some countries pay attention to what exactly the animal was vaccinated with: the vaccine must be certified in the country. In addition, at the time of vaccination, the pet must already be microchipped.

Be especially careful to ensure that each vaccination record is accompanied by a vaccine insert, with its number and other data. In many countries, an entry without this will be considered invalid, even if there is a doctor's signature and the clinic's seal.

Rabies test

it laboratory research, confirming the presence in the blood of the animal of the required amount of antibodies to the rabies virus. It is not necessary when applying for a veterinary passport and will not be required at all when moving within the country. But some countries allow import certain types animals (cats, dogs,) only if such a test is available. It is carried out in state-accredited laboratories. Pay attention to time limits: the test is done no earlier than 30 days after vaccination, but no later than three months before the planned entry into the country.

All dates and other information are controlled exclusively by the veterinary passport. Therefore, during visits to the clinic, it is better to carry it with you. The test results are also recorded in the veterinary passport (but it will be possible to additionally present a certificate from the laboratory).

Age of animals allowed to be imported into the EU and non-CIS countries

The age of the animal, like many other data, is indicated in the veterinary passport (date of birth). If a pet taken from the nursery, the passport will already be “included” with him. Otherwise, the date of birth is put down according to the owner at the first veterinary examination. If , it will be indicated approximately.

Veterinary certificates (certificates, certificates) supplementing the veterinary passport while traveling

When registering, an examination of the animal and presentation by the owner of a veterinary passport with. All certificates from this list are issued only by state doctors - employees of commercial clinics do not have the right to issue such documents. It is better to specify the cost of issuing certificates directly at the clinic. You need to apply for extradition to the representative office of the state veterinary service(veterinary clinic) at the place of residence of the animal.

Veterinary certificate according to form No. 4, it will be required if the animal needs to be transported within a constituent entity of the Russian Federation, sold through a pet store or a bird market. It is better to issue immediately before transportation - the validity period is limited to five days. It is presented at the request of the controlling services along with the pet's veterinary passport.

Veterinary certificate in form No. 1. It is issued at the place of residence of the animal by state veterinary clinics. F No. 1-vet is valid for five days from the date of issue until the end of the carriage (rules that came into force on September 1, 2015). The reference indicates that responsible person conducted a veterinary examination and confirms that the animal is completely healthy. Together with a veterinary passport, it will be required when transporting an animal outside the region.

Veterinary certificate of the Customs Union, also form No. 1 (which can sometimes cause confusion with the previous certificate). Similar to a veterinary certificate, but valid on the territory of the Customs Union.

A veterinary certificate in form No. 5a will be required if the animal is planned to be taken with you outside the Customs Union. For issuance, you need to present a veterinary certificate in form No. 1 at the border or at the airport - it will be exchanged for F No. 5a. With this in mind, it is better to arrive at the airport in advance.

F No. 5a is also valid for five days from the date of issue until the end of the trip. If you plan to return the animal to the Russian Federation, you need to indicate the point of return in the "Route" column and take into account that the certificate is valid only 90 days from the date of issue.

Additional examination and veterinary treatments will be needed if:

  • exceeded 90 days;
  • the animal was in places where outbreaks of infectious diseases were registered.

All these treatments are indicated in the veterinary passport.

Veterinary certificate of the European Union (it is also called "Eurocertificate"). It is attached to the veterinary certificate in form No. 5a. If entry into the EU countries is carried out not from the Russian Federation, but from another country of the Customs Union, instead of F5a, a veterinary certificate of the Customs Union is needed.

The Eurocertificate is compiled in three languages:

  • Russian (as the sending country);
  • English (general international requirements);
  • the language of the country you are traveling to.

Presented together with a veterinary passport and a customs declaration.

dog stigma

This is a distinctive sign that allows you to identify the dog. Before, when there were no microchips, the stigma was the only way identification. The alphanumeric designation in the brand can be indicated in the veterinary passport even if there is a chip. Branding is mandatory in kennel clubs, but it cannot serve as a substitute for a microchip when traveling abroad.

Microchip

It is a small capsule made of inert material with an electronic chip inside. It is injected with a special syringe under the skin in the withers area. Source The chip cannot be changed and is a reliable option for international identification. Read it with a special device.

It must be indicated in the veterinary passport. Often, when chipping, an additional certificate is issued - it can also be saved. The chipping mark in the veterinary passport is very important: veterinarians in the EU and many other countries only take into account vaccinations and other treatments made on the day the chip was inserted or after. Everything that was "before" is not taken into account.

Outcome

A veterinary passport is issued by an employee of the state veterinary service at the request of the owner of the animal. This is the main document confirming the fact that the pet is vaccinated and treated against all diseases dangerous to humans and animals. There is no rigidly established form of the veterinary passport, there is only a list of the main points that should be reflected in the document. This also applies to the international veterinary passport. Based on this document, all other veterinary certificates, references and certificates are issued.

HOW TO FILL IN THE VETERINARY PASSPORT OF THE ANIMAL CORRECTLY

An international veterinary passport has some specifics that comply with EU standards. All column names in it are duplicated in English, and it should be filled in both in Russian and in Latin (there are many free services by transliteration translit-online.ru, service-online.su, rustolat.ru, etc.). Currently, most clinics issue such a document at the moment when you first come for a vaccination or for a pet examination at the clinic.

The international veterinary passport of cats/dogs must be filled out by hand, with a blue or black ink pen.

The cat's passport must contain the following information:

· Surname, name patronymic of the owner;

· Address (street, city, country).

Full name should be written as in your own passport. Address - preferably actual (so it will be easier to find you if necessary), and if possible, it is better to indicate both the place of residence and the place of registration.

Phone - first of all, mobile, but again it is better to write all the numbers that you can call.

As for the photo of the pet, it must be in color, no larger than 5.5 by 8 centimeters and show the entire pet, and not just the muzzle.

Pet information.

An international veterinary passport for cats must contain the following data:

· Nickname (the name of the pet must match what is indicated in the metric or pedigree - for purebred animals, if the animal is not purebred - you can write a nickname at your discretion);

· Ident. number (brand in dogs);

· Pedigree number;

· Date of birth (also indicated by metric or pedigree. If you do not know exactly when your pet was born, write the approximate date and month);

· Gender (in this column you need to check the box F (female - female) or M (male - male). Sometimes special icons are used to indicate gender. the animal is sterilized);

· Breed (we copy the name of the breed from the pedigree or metric. About the "nobles" we write "mestizo");

· Coat color (color is again written off from official documents thoroughbred animals - this can be a name or an encoding. About pets simple bloodlines you can simply write "red", "black with white spots", "gray striped");

· Type of wool and marks / Special signs.

Filling in this column, choose from four options: hairless, shorthair, semi-longhair or longhair. Special features may include extra toes, ragged ears, missing eyes, spots or stripes that are uncharacteristic of the breed.

Animal identification.

The passport should also have a section on microchipping, where the microchip number, a barcode sticker, as well as the date of microchipping, with the doctor's signature and the clinic's stamp, are entered.

In some international passports, you may find a section of marks of the laboratory of genomic certification. These studies are needed to accurately identify animals in controversial cases or litigation.

However, a microchip is enough to cross the border - today this method is the only recognized way to identify an animal.

Date of registration.

The second page is reserved for marks on the registration of the animal in veterinary clinic which are made within 1 month from the date of purchase of adult animals, and puppies and kittens upon reaching 3-(2) months of age.

Re-registration is made after 1 year from the date of registration and then no later than 2 months from the date of expiration. Remember that the re-registration marks must be made by a veterinarian, all of them are accompanied by the doctor's signature, clinic stamp, date.

the next sections.

The section on basic vaccination contains information about vaccinations against panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis and calcivirosis, is filled in similarly to the previous section.

In special sections on deworming and treatment for fleas and ticks, marks are made and stickers from drugs are pasted. This can be done by both the owner himself and the doctor.

Must have a veterinary passport. It contains all the necessary information about you, about the pet, about the vaccinations and vaccinations made. If you keep up with the times and chipped the animal, then an identification sticker will be pasted into the veterinary passport. The veterinary passport of an animal is an international document.

Animal passport

  • Information about the owner of the animal - full name, phone number and address of residence;
  • Breed of the animal, nickname, special signs, current photo. If you plan to travel abroad, then a chip must be implanted, the number of which is indicated in the passport;
