Legal basis

As noted earlier, OKVED was approved by a resolution of the State Standard of the Russian Federation, and developed by the Ministry of Finance. Types of activities in the OKVED classifier

It presents everything possible types activities of the company, all those that are permitted and do not contradict Russian legislation, namely:

1. Construction.
2. Production.
3. Wholesale;
4. Agriculture.
5. Fishing.
6. And other.

Each section is numbered with a Latin letter. There are 17 sections in total, each of which consists of subsections; there can be from 1 to several dozen. They are necessary to clarify information on the activities of the enterprise.

So, for example, wholesale trade is included in section G, the full name of which:"wholesale and retail; repair of vehicles, motorcycles, household products and personal items"

Next, each section is divided into groups. For example, 51 sections are divided into 5 groups, which, in turn, also have subgroups. Thus, we get that every detail is important here and every number says something.

OKVED groups

As already noted, the OKVED code is presented as a set of numbers that indicate one or another detail in the company’s activities. This code may consist of six or fewer digits.

Selection of OKVED code

Initially, you need to select one main OKVED code, to which the rest will be attached. One company may have several OKVED codes at once. This does not require any additional fees, duties or other conditions. In form “A”, when registering a company, the main code is entered on the first page, and then there are 56 free lines for codes. But this does not mean that a company can only have 57 OKVED codes, because there can be several such sheets, the only question is how many, this is appropriate.

In some cases, in addition to the main package of documents, a certificate of no criminal record is attached. This happens when the company’s activities, that is, the main OKVED, are related to working with children. And then only when registering an individual entrepreneur.

So, in order to select the OKVED code, you should use the following instructions:

1. Formulate the company's activities. For example, the company decided to buy and sell grain in large quantities.
2. We are interested in precisely the activities of the company from which it will receive its profit, so it is not worth looking for OKVED for the purchase of grain, there is no such code anyway.
3. So wholesale trade is located in section G at number 51. So, we will look there.
4. In section 51 there are 5 subsections, one of which is called “Wholesale trade in agricultural raw materials and live animals” section 51.2
