Rules for using Thai whitening pastes

Thai pastes are highly concentrated. Improper use can cause problems with enamel.

Therefore, before use, it is important to familiarize yourself with some rules:

  1. When applying the composition to the brush, it is important to follow the dosage. For a one-time hygiene procedure, you will need a pea with a diameter of 2-4 mm. It is convenient to take the paste from the jar using a special tool that comes with the kit.
  2. It is recommended to carry out the hygienic procedure with a paste that contains bleaching agents using a soft brush. Coarse bristles in combination with a concentrated product can damage the enamel structure or mucous membrane.
  3. There is no need to moisten the brush before applying the paste.
  4. To achieve the desired result (thorough cleaning and brightening of the enamel) without harm to the teeth, it is recommended to use the Thai product for about 10 days throughout the month.
  5. Active cleaning movements should be made after foam has formed.

Advantages and disadvantages

Toothpaste according to Thai recipes, previously imported into the country as gifts, instantly gained popularity thanks to laudatory reviews from users. Now the merits of the product are appreciated by millions of compatriots.

Among the main advantages of the product:

  • safe composition natural origin, which makes it possible to use the paste during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • whitening effect, changes can be seen after 2-3 procedures;
  • a unique formula, the effect of which is ensured by the medicinal properties of plants;
  • a large selection of pastes that differ in composition (this is important if you are allergic to one of the components of the product);
  • profitability (for the procedure you will need only a tiny pea of the product);
  • affordable price(cost per tube is about 140-160 rubles).

The disadvantages include the unusual consistency and gray tone of the paste. When performing hygiene procedures, a slightly salty taste is felt.

Do they really whiten teeth?

Each paste made according to Thai recipes has an individual list of indications, so you should not purchase any for teeth whitening. This is due to the presence or absence active ingredients in the composition, thanks to which the enamel is brightened.

Punchalee pasta is very popular in Russia. The product is certified, the composition contains only components of natural origin. Whitening is achieved thanks to the properties of calcium carbonate.

Others no less popular means is MeiTan Active White. It is recommended for coffee and tea lovers. The composition perfectly copes with the typical coating of drinks.

The product also competes with a Thai toothpaste 5 star 4A. Its consistency is unusually solid, which ensures economical consumption. Among the active ingredients is white clay, which provides the effect of lightening the enamel.

Dentists' opinion

For many potential buyers, the opinion of dentists plays a decisive role in the decision to purchase a toothpaste. Experts confirm the beneficial effects of the natural composition of Thai products on soft fabrics and enamel structure.

Although some doctors note that the effect of enamel lightening occurs to a greater extent due to the mechanical effect on plaque and pigmentation.

Other dentists advise using exclusively products certified by the Russian Sanitary Service. This provides greater confidence regarding the safety of the formulation and its effectiveness.

It is quite acceptable to use Thai-made pastes if all the rules are followed during the application process.

This applies to both dosages and teeth brushing techniques. Experts also recommend combining the product from Thailand with pastes intended for daily procedures.

Anyone who has been to Thailand has probably paid attention to the condition of the Thais' teeth. Most of the Thai population has beautiful, white teeth. And it’s not entirely a matter of genes; dental care plays an important role and Thai toothpastes are proof of this. We have seen this from personal experience. Toothpaste from Thailand does not fit into our concept of toothpastes; it differs from the toothpastes we are used to in consistency, smell and taste. And most importantly, action! In Thailand they also sell the pastes that we are used to. And after Russian toothpastes, they seem better in all respects, they clean better and my teeth stay clean longer, but after I tried real Thai toothpaste, I have no desire to go back to my usual ones.

There are many manufacturers of Thai toothpastes in Thailand and not all of them are the same, they have different compositions And taste qualities, but they are all similar in action. Everyone can choose pasta to suit their taste. Let's look at the most popular Thai toothpastes and their differences.

Among Thai toothpastes there are several types, the first type is solid, non-gel white (or light-colored) toothpastes. gray) They are usually sold in flat round jars packed in square boxes.

The most common Thai toothpaste among Russian tourists is . It is sold in many cosmetic stores and shops, as well as in tourist destinations. Main active ingredients: Asteraceae compositae (plant of the Asteraceae family), lauraceae (laurel), Mentol (menthol), clove oil (clove oil). Thanks to natural ingredients, it perfectly freshens breath, disinfects, removes gum inflammation, strengthens enamel and whitens teeth to natural whiteness. A completely organic product that cleanses your teeth and mouth better than gel-based tube toothpastes. This paste is something between tooth powder and toothpaste - it is hard.

Very little consumption: just make a few stroking circular movements with a dry toothbrush (do not press!) on the surface of the paste so that a small coating forms on the bristles of the toothbrush. This small amount is enough to perfectly clean and protect your teeth.

Cons: - sharp salty taste and smell, you need to make sure that no water gets into the paste and that it doesn’t dry out - close the lid tightly all the time.

In addition, this paste contains Sodium Laurilsuiphat, many avoid its presence due to extensive anti-advertising. I would like to note that this is an organic compound that has many varieties and when making toothpaste they do not use the same variety as for household chemicals, it is not clear where this myth came from on the Russian-language Internet. And the dosage is tiny. In addition, I did not find information on the dangers of this component on the English-language Internet, which makes me think... This toothpaste is produced by the ISME company and often this toothpaste comes with pleasant bonuses: before there were masks and scrubs, but now each 35 gram package contains a small spatula for easy application of the paste. This is the first pasta I came across. After using it regularly, all planned trips to the dentist end with an examination and a recommendation to come back in another six months; you don’t even need to clean the stone. We'll come back to this point later)

The third paste in this series that is worth paying attention to is . It differs from the previous two in its softer smell and more pleasant taste - it is sweet.

Ingredients: Calcium carbonate, Sorbitol, Water, Sodium chloride, Sodium lauryl sulfate, Sodium carboxymethylcellulose, Mentol, Borneal, Camphor, Eugenia caryophyllus bud oil, Sodium saccharin. The composition is something between the first and second. Despite the presence of saccharin, its properties are not inferior to the first two. It cleans just as well and keeps your teeth feeling fresh and clean for just as long. I don't have problems with my gums, so out of the three, I liked this paste. The same economical consumption and the same recommendations for use.

The next category is herbal toothpastes . They contain not only extracts, but also plant particles, due to which it has a dark color. They come in both hard and softer ones in plastic tubes. There are also many types of them, let’s look at the 3 most popular ones.

The first herbal toothpaste I came across was Bala toothpaste from a company with a difficult to pronounce name or . This is a very interesting brand that uses the developments of one of the government hospitals in Thailand. Their cosmetics did not really impress me, but their medicine impressed me - their antiseptic made from mangosteen peel and bactericidal cream with clinocanthus took up residence in my medicine cabinet forever. This paste contains guava, grape leaves and mangosteen peel, known for its tanning and antibacterial properties.

Full composition: Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate, Water (Aqua), Sorbitol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Garcinia Magostana Peel Powder, Psidium Gaujava Leaf Extract, Silica, Piper Betle Leaf Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf oil, Methylparaben, propylparaben, Sodium Saccharin, Eugenia caryophyllus (Clove) flower oil, Cinnamon Cassia Leaf Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Aluminuim Sulfate.

This paste does not whiten teeth, but judging by the reviews, it has the most healing properties. Stops bleeding gums quickly and for a long time. The taste is very distinctive, very herbal. Color - dark brown.

There are also excellent tooth powders in Thailand, for example the Thai one. In the nomination for the title of tooth powder, the powder with the most terrible smell is the undisputed winner. But he also found his fans. Many people try it and stop.

  • Completely natural Thai toothpaste without any pungent odor or taste. This Here's what the manufacturer writes: The original helps keep teeth and gums healthy. Removes plaque and dark stains from coffee, tea and cigarettes. Dissolves tartar and prevents its formation (tested personally). Organic product, does not contain preservatives, flavors or dyes. Indeed, the composition: sorbitol, glycerin, sodium bicarbonate, natural extracts, including clove, myrrh, sage and chamomile. In details:
  • Calcium carbonate- This is a soft polishing substance that participates in the process of saturating dental tissue with microelements and prevents the development of caries. Sorbitol— in liquid form, it is added to the composition of toothpaste to prevent its premature drying. The substance is absolutely harmless to the body.
  • Glycerol — vegetable glycerin protects toothpaste from drying out and helps to successfully clean plaque on teeth and whiten them.
  • Baking soda— for the formation of a pronounced alkaline environment, helps to improve the outflow of fluid from edematous periodontal tissues. This toothpaste can be recommended to patients to relieve swelling of the mucous membranes and gums, as well as to patients with increased plaque formation. Baking soda is contained in very small quantities and does not damage the enamel, meaning this paste can be used constantly.
  • Various plant extracts- cloves, myrrh (aromatic resin), sage and chamomile. They enhance the antibacterial and healing properties of the paste, relieve inflammation of the gums, heal the gums and teeth, strengthening them.

The only drawback of the paste is that it does not foam well, but despite this drawback it does an excellent job of keeping teeth clean, fresh and healthy. I recently had my next trip to the dentist; the dentist was surprised at the condition of my teeth; for the 4th month of pregnancy they are perfect! But my husband has a stone again, caries again... The dentist said that only good toothpaste can give such a condition to the teeth. My husband was present and now he also brushes his teeth with toothpaste. . After just 2 weeks, I noticed that his teeth became lighter.

Regarding the whitening properties of the pastes, they only whiten healthy teeth. If the tooth is gray from the inside, then Thai paste will not be able to draw out its color; here it is powerless. But in any case, no matter which of the pastes described in this article you choose, the condition of your teeth will noticeably improve, you yourself will notice it after a week of regular use! If you are not planning a trip to Thailand in the near future, you can always order Thai toothpaste from the online store, delivered directly from Thailand.

These products are produced in unusual packaging - a round jar with a lid, but there are several products packaged in classic tubes. The use of toothpaste from Thailand is surrounded by myths. But which of them is true, and which is a well-thought-out marketing ploy?

Composition of Thai toothpaste

Many people associate Thai teeth cleaning products with something useful and effective for whitening enamel due to the fact that they contain extracts of exotic plants and herbs and essential oils. Fans of everything natural and those who are wary of various sulfates and parabens, which are widely found in many hygiene and cosmetic products, prefer Thai toothpaste, believing that it contains no harmful components. But is it?

Toothpaste from Thailand may contain various components. Their combination may vary depending on the manufacturer.

Here are the most commonly found ingredients:

  • Abrasive substances. They allow you to remove soft plaque and polish the enamel surface to give a natural shine. Thai oral care products contain abrasives such as titanium dioxide, silicon, bamboo charcoal, and particles of crushed cuttlefish bones.
  • The anti-inflammatory effect of toothpaste is provided by medicinal herbs and plants, extracts from which are included in the composition of the product - cloves, muraya, clinacanthus, guava, mint, miswak and others.
  • Borneol contained in Thai toothpastes provides antimicrobial protection for teeth and gums. The drug is able to penetrate deeply into soft tissues and have an antiseptic effect similar to the effect of camphor, but the main difference between borneol is that it is absolutely non-toxic.
  • Soda is also often included in toothpastes from Thailand. It has a strengthening effect on the gums and helps cleanse the enamel of dental plaque.

Kinds

There are several types of pastes , produced in Thailand.

Whitening Thai toothpaste

Thai whitening toothpaste contains a large amount of essential oils and extracts of exotic plants, so it has a distinct smell.

Whitening toothpaste from Thailand is considered good and effective means in the fight against the formation of dental plaque. Consumers notice that with regular brushing with this product, less plaque accumulates on the teeth, and their breath acquires a pleasant aroma. The product contains patchouli and camphor oil, cloves, lavender and plant extracts from the aster family.

In appearance, packaging with paste differs from other domestic or imported dental products: instead of the usual tube, a creamy mass of gray, brown or beige color is placed in a round box.

Black Thai toothpaste

Among Thai tooth whitening pastes you can find preparations that are black in color. Do not be alarmed, this shade indicates the naturalness of the product. The paste contains bamboo charcoal, which gives it an unusual shade. It cleanses the enamel surface well, as it has an adsorbing effect and literally attracts food particles to itself.

Thai paste also contains anti-inflammatory components (camphor, cloves, guava extract), due to which it eliminates and makes them stronger, and has an antibacterial effect. The use of this product is suitable for the treatment of gum diseases, as well as for lightening enamel, even if it is sensitive.

Herbal Thai toothpaste

Thailand grows a large number of plants that can have anti-inflammatory and strengthening effects. Local residents have learned to use guava and mangosteen peel to eliminate bleeding gums and include them in Thai paste.

Herbal-based teeth and gum care products have the following properties:

  • heal sore gums;
  • remove signs of inflammation;
  • fight bleeding;
  • prevent the active proliferation of bacteria;
  • nourish soft tissues natural vitamins and useful substances.

Unlike the pastes described above, herbal remedies do not have a whitening effect, since they do not have a direct effect on the hard tissues of the tooth.

Other types of Thai toothpastes

There are several other types of Thai dental products that are in demand not only among local residents, but also among foreigners:

  • Powder for cleaning teeth, which effectively fights infections in the oral cavity, effectively eliminates microbial plaque, and freshens breath.
  • Pastes for sensitive enamel, after the use of which the susceptibility of dental tissues to temperature influences is reduced.
  • A special composition used to treat periodontal disease. It can also be used as a preventative.

Terms of use

Toothpaste from Thailand, as a rule, comes in the form of a concentrate, so it should be used in doses, not exceeding the permissible amount of product, as there is a risk of damaging tooth enamel.

If we talk about toothpastes packaged in round jars, it is important to remember that dipping a toothbrush into the box is not recommended, since microbes from the bristles can get into the cleaning mass. This may subsequently lead to infection of other family members who also use Thai paste. To scoop out the required amount of product, you should use a special plastic or glass spatula, which must be washed after each use.

When brushing your teeth with whitening paste, it is better to use brushes with soft bristles or medium hardness. This will allow you to clean the enamel from dirt as gently as possible, as well as polish it to a natural shine.

Useful video with a review of Thai pastes from a customer

Toothpastes from Thailand are a fairly popular product today, competing with traditional European brands. This is explained by the fact that the effect of their influence is visible almost immediately, and the cost is quite acceptable. Let's consider the composition, types of toothpastes and powders from Thailand, as well as their advantages and possible disadvantages.

Composition of toothpastes from Thailand

Most Thai toothpastes have an undeniable advantage over products from other manufacturers - their cost is quite budget-friendly. The composition of most of the products is positioned as natural, but there can be no complete certainty about this. It is known that in Thailand there is no mandatory certification of products from local manufacturers, which means that the paste or powder packaging may contain ingredients that are not listed on the label.

Let's look at the main components of Thai toothpastes:

  • Clay – whitening component with abrasive properties. Despite the naturalness of this ingredient, there is no confidence in its complete safety for enamel. For example, European manufacturers process abrasive substances before adding them to the product so that the microparticles have a smoother surface and do not scratch the enamel.
  • Oils of clove (clove), sage (sage), myrrh (myrrh), peppermint (peppermint) - soothing sore gums and freshen your breath. However, not everyone likes the overly pungent aroma of these substances.
  • Bamboo charcoal - this ingredient distinguishes Thai toothpaste from other similar products. The component perfectly cleanses teeth of soft plaque, absorbs unpleasant odors, and has bactericidal properties.
  • Cuttlefish bone polishes teeth, and in combination with other ingredients allows you to achieve white enamel in less time. short term use.
  • Guava leaf powder is known for its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. As part of tooth powder, this ingredient serves as a prevention of gingivitis, periodontal disease and other gum diseases.
  • Clinacanthus extract is a squeeze from the leaves of a rare plant that grows only in the Thai tropics. Clinacanthus drooping is used not only as an ingredient in toothpastes, but also in cosmetology, as it has pronounced anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Fights gum disease and other oral problems.

In addition to natural and often exotic ingredients, Thai pastes contain common additives that we are used to seeing in other similar products. Among them are such notorious components as sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium cocosulfate.

Sodium lauryl sulfate is an anionic surfactant. They are poorly washed out and accumulate in the body, and at a certain concentration they damage the cell membrane. This contributes to a decrease in immunity and leads to the development of certain diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease. Almost the same can be said about the component sodium cocosulfate.

We will highlight the most famous products that are already on our market and tell you about each category separately. Let's consider products for teeth whitening and caries prevention, herbal, antiseptic and others.

Whitening Thai toothpaste - Twin Lotus herbal - one of the most famous. According to the manufacturer, the product has the following properties:

Thanks to the presence of sorbitol, the paste has a fatty consistency and retains its properties for a long time. Cuttlefish bone and calcium carbonate are used as a polishing component. It also contains miswak - the flour of the Salvadora Persica tree, which copes with gum inflammation and has many other beneficial properties. In addition to the listed components, the Thai paste includes clinacanthus, peppermint oil, eucalyptus extract, and the Murraya paniculata plant.

The paste has a thick consistency and black or dark brown color. According to user reviews, this paste perfectly soothes the gums and heals wounds on the mucous membrane. At the same time, the whitening properties of the product are very mediocre.

Srithana herbal - this toothpaste has a whitening effect and is available on our market in various variations. The manufacturer claims that the product cleanses teeth of pigmented plaque and promotes gum health. The paste contains borneol, camphor, glycerin, and fruit extracts. Srithana is quite popular among our compatriots and is in demand. However, the product is not without its drawbacks, which can be learned from user reviews:

  • If you brush your teeth regularly, increased sensitivity of the enamel appears;
  • Some users have experienced bleeding gums.

For review we chose Thai herbal paste with mangosteen (Clove and Mangosteen toothpaste) from the manufacturer 5 Stars. It is known that, in addition to antioxidants (vitamins A and E), it contains special substances - xanthones. They maintain microbiological balance in the mouth and protect the immune system. Thai toothpastes differ from European ones in consistency - they are thicker. In this regard, products from Thailand are usually released in jars, as can be seen in the photo.

The manufacturer has packaged some pastes in tubes, but not everyone is comfortable using them. It is quite difficult to calculate the degree of pressure on the tube in order to obtain the required amount of paste - sometimes it turns out to squeeze out a voluminous clot. Let's look at other recommendations for using pastes:

  • If the paste is in a jar, scoop it up with a special spatula and only then apply it to a dry or slightly damp brush. As a rule, a very small amount of paste is required, about the size of a lentil grain. It is not recommended to immerse the brush in a container with the product, so as not to introduce bacteria into it.
  • Almost all Thai whitening toothpastes contain abrasives that are not pretreated. People should remember this hypersensitivity teeth, as well as those who have children in the family. Others are advised to use the paste for 1-2 weeks, then take a break.
  • Tooth powders from Thailand are quite aggressive products, so it is better to use them only from time to time.

Remember that most Asian toothpastes contain exotic additives that can cause allergies. It is better to buy the product first in a small package, and only after successful testing, purchase a large jar.

Stores in Thailand sell toothpastes. All sorts of different ones. Starting from European brands and ending with completely local ones. People often ask me what toothpaste to buy to make their teeth as white as Thais'. I decided to review the most famous brands. I won’t talk about the world famous ones - Colgate, Parodontax, Pepsodent, Sensodyne, Fluocaril, just know that Thailand has also made progress in the field of dental care.

One of the most famous companies, Lion, organized back in 1967 with the support of the Japanese, produces a number of brands of toothpaste and brushes. They also have several types of Kodomo children's toothpaste: different fruit flavors, sugar-free, with fluoride.

For adults there is much more choice. The Zact brand produces two types of toothpaste: red - to remove plaque and stains from cigarettes, and green - for those who drink a lot of tea and coffee, but want their teeth to remain snow-white.

Another Lion brand is Systema. It produces oral fluids, toothbrushes and toothpastes with different additives and flavors.

Lion's latest oral care brand is Salz. Toothbrushes and pastes. By the way, remember, I once told you that in Thailand? Nothing changed. Salz toothpastes contain sorbent from mineral salt, fluoride and even the antioxidant coenzyme Q10. The line includes Salz Sensitive Active Block paste for sensitive teeth, Salz Intensive Gum Care for gum health, and Salz Habu Natural Herbal contains natural herbs.

It’s worth telling you about the Hawley & Hazel corporation, which produces the infamous Darlie toothpaste, popular not only in Thailand, but also in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. The fact is that since 1933, the toothpaste was called Darkie, which in America and England is used to refer to people of the Negroid race, and the packaging depicted a smiling African-American man in a top hat and bow tie. All this ambiguously smacked of racism. Imagine how you can promote a toothpaste called “Blackie”. This is exactly what the Colgate-Palmolive corporation thought and changed Darkie to Darlie, and the African American from the packaging to white. Although in China, the hieroglyphs on a tube of paste are still translated as “black man.” Despite such resonance in the European world, Darlie toothpaste was and remains popular in Asia. In Thailand they present: Darlie Expert Fresh for fresh breath, Darlie Double Action Enamel Protect (Strong Mint) to protect enamel, whitening Darlie All Shiny White Lemon Mint and Darlie Expert White, double acting Darlie Double Action and Darlie Fresh"n Brite.

The Chinese corporation Kokliang Pharmacy, founded in 1975, produces toothpaste of the same name on natural herbs. The composition includes: saussurea or snow lotus, ginseng, Chinese pearls, borneol and jasmine. Kokliang toothpaste is suitable for sensitive teeth.

Another Kolbadent toothpaste is produced by the Thai corporation Sahapan Group, founded in 1937. There are several types of them. Previously, you could only see for sale classic version Kolbadent - with extracts of mint, cloves and Thai Khoi tree (Streblus asper lour). Recently, three more types have appeared under the Kolbadent Gum Alive brand: Fresh Breath for fresh breath, Special Gum Care for strengthening gums and Natural Whitening.

Dentiste’ is positioned as the only night toothpaste. Using it before bed, you will notice fresh breath in the morning after the first time. Contains 14 natural extracts including natural antiseptics- eucalyptus, cloves, fennel, anise, sage, cinnamon, mint, licorice and others. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant, protects the oral cavity from damage and keeps gums healthy. Dentiste’ toothpaste is available in various packaging: small travel kits, large tubes and vertical tubes with a dispenser.

Kuron Corporation, under the Sparkle brand, produces an excellent whitening toothpaste. The line includes three varieties: Sparkle Triple White, Sparkle Double White Lemon Soda and Sparkle Fresh White. Medical research has proven that after two weeks, teeth become whiter in 73% of cases.

The Thai company Twin Lotus began its activities in 1977 with a small pharmacy, where they produced medicines using natural herbs and without fluoride. Today the corporation produces cosmetical tools not only for Thailand, but also for export. Herbal Twin Lotus based toothpaste medicinal herbs is rightfully one of the best. Herbal Twin Lotus Original may even surprise you a little; among Russian-speaking tourists it is called “black toothpaste.” Indeed, it is not white, but coffee-colored due to the herbal extracts it contains. Dental Herbal Twin Lotus Fresh & Cool is gray in color and is a good breath freshener. Herbal Twin Lotus Plus Salt contains purified salt and is excellent at removing plaque. Recently they have launched a new triple action product - Herbaliste Twin Lotus Active Charcoal with activated carbon.

Another natural toothpaste is Thipniyom Thai Herbal Fluoride-Free. I already wrote about. The toothpaste contains extracts of clove, camphor, myrrh, sage and chamomile. Does not contain fluoride.

It’s worth focusing separately on natural toothpastes in round jars. They actually resemble wet tooth powder. Foams well and cleans teeth. There are countless companies and brands: Rasyan, Prim Perfect, Yim Siam, Punchalee, Supaporn, 6 Star, Zeada.

Their composition is approximately the same, only the extracts and their quantities differ: guava, coconut, cloves, mangosteen or others. Round toothpaste should be used 1-2 times a day and should never be mixed with other toothpastes. In my opinion, it is not suitable for very sensitive teeth. Give preference to brands that indicate the physical address of the manufacturer.

All the toothpastes described above can be bought in large shopping centers, 7-11 and Family Mart mini-markets, Boots and Watson's chain pharmacies. I cannot say which one is best for you. Everything is individual.

Choose, buy and smile confidently.
