Ayurvedic eggshell. Healing properties of eggshell: the easiest way to be healthy

Dear readers, have you ever thought about the fact that about 600 billion eggs are eaten annually on the planet? And how much eggshell is then thrown away? But eggshells, as a source of calcium, can bring huge health benefits. Even some traumatologists recommend its use. I think that many do not even suspect that the shell of chicken eggs can be used not only for bone fractures. That's what we'll talk about in this article.

Eggs, as a human food product, have been used for food since ancient times due to their availability. Chicken eggs are the most common for food, although eggs of other birds and even reptiles can be eaten.

Currently, chicken eggs are still most often on our table. We prepare all kinds of dishes from eggs, as they have a rich mineral and vitamin composition and good calorie content. I wrote about this in detail in my article "", it turns out that every second Sunday in October this holiday is celebrated all over the world.

Almost everyone knows that calcium is necessary for the body. According to scientists, it is contained here in an easily digestible form and therefore cannot be deposited in the form of kidney stones.

The shell of bird eggs consists of 93 percent of calcium carbonate, and this calcium carbonate, unlike chalk, is absorbed almost completely due to the fact that the synthesis in the bird's body from organic calcium to inorganic has already taken place.

The chemical composition of eggshells is not limited to calcium alone. It contains over 20 of the most useful and essential minerals and trace elements. Especially important is the content of silicon and molybdenum, which are very necessary for the biochemical reactions taking place in the body and which we do not get in our daily food. It contains a lot of magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, iron, etc.

In addition to minerals and trace elements, there are essential amino acids for the body - methionine, cystine, lysine, isoleucine.

If such a composition is synthesized artificially, then it will not bring that benefit, unlike eggshells. By the way, it is much safer, and most importantly, it is easier for the human body to absorb what is already balanced by nature itself.

Eggshell - useful properties

The shell of chicken eggs is a unique product. With its proper preparation and use, it will help to heal the body, because it has unique beneficial properties:

  • it is a building material for bones, teeth and nails;
  • it conducts nerve impulses and promotes the contraction of muscle fibers;
  • necessary for the functioning of the pituitary, adrenal, pancreas, thyroid and gonads;
  • participates in the process of blood clotting and stimulates the hematopoietic function of the bone marrow;
  • helps lower cholesterol levels and prevents the absorption of saturated fats in the intestines;
  • regulates the acid-base balance in the body;
  • does not accumulate in bone marrow radioactive elements such as strontium-90.

What diseases can be treated with eggshell

Since the main component of the eggshell is calcium carbonate, it will be useful for the following diseases:

  • with bone fractures
  • with osteoporosis,
  • with osteochondrosis and arthritis,
  • with peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, gastritis,
  • prevent the development of caries and bleeding gums;
  • with allergic manifestations in children,
  • with bowel dysfunction
  • with burns,
  • for the prevention of rickets and,
  • strengthen and make beautiful hair and nails;
  • with hair loss.

If there are signs of rickets in children, spasms and muscle cramps, osteoporosis, depression, all this indicates calcium deficiency.

How to Prepare Eggshells for Ingestion

To compensate for the lack of calcium, you can always buy tablet preparations or dietary supplements. But why overpay money when you can prepare such preparations yourself, especially since egg shells are always on the farm and we ruthlessly throw them away.

The cooking process is not laborious and anyone can do it, you just need to follow the following rules.

For cooking, egg shells are useful not only from chicken, but from any other birds. The main thing is that these birds do not live on poultry farms and are not fed with various additives.

The collected shells must be washed with soap under running water before being crushed, disinfected by boiling, as there may be microbes on the surface. The most dangerous of them is salmonella, which causes very serious illness gastrointestinal tract and

I want to note: the film on inside you can not clean it, although I found a lot of reviews on the Internet that, on the contrary, it should be cleaned. Personally, I never remove it.

Then the shell must be dried, otherwise it cannot be finely chopped raw. We dry in the oven, in the microwave, on central heating batteries or just in the sun. Finely grind dried. First, you can grind it with a rolling pin or break it with your hands. But for finer grinding, it is still better to use a coffee grinder.

The crushed shell must be folded from a dry jar and stored in a dark, cool place. Or for storage, you can use gelatin capsules, which can be bought at a pharmacy or online. We fill them with crushed powder and take it when necessary.

How to use eggshell as a source of calcium

Daily dose calcium for an adult is about 400 mg per day, which is about half a teaspoon. The daily dose should be taken in 2 doses - in the morning and in the evening, that is, about a quarter of a teaspoon per dose for an adult. For pregnant women, it is twice as much, and for children, on the contrary, it is half as much.

But such a dose is conditional, which depends on what you eat during the day. If you ate a cheese sandwich for breakfast, ate bone broth soup for lunch, and drank a glass of milk before going to bed, you might want to skip the eggshell intake. The fact is that an excess of calcium in the body is also harmful. It is better to combine eggshells with meals, so it is better to add it to porridge, sprinkle with vegetable salad. You can, of course, take pure form with acidified juice, but more on that later.

It is important to know! Calcium is best absorbed with vitamins D and A, which are found in coconut oil, liver, fermented cod oil, herring, butter, egg yolk, seaweed and other products.

The course of application of the powder is 2 weeks, then a break of 3 months is necessary.

The above scheme is suitable for adults with bone fractures. Usually the process of fusion of bones is long. In addition to long-term fixation of the fracture site, the doctor prescribes calcium preparations to speed up the fusion process. In this case, taking eggshells is a good alternative.

For prophylactic purposes, eggshell powder will be very useful during a period of intensive growth and development: for children, especially in adolescence, and for women during pregnancy and lactation.

Calcium is no less important during menopause, when there is age hormonal changes and it will be a good remedy for the prevention of osteoporosis.

Hungarian scientists have proven that the eggshell acts as an adsorbent, as a result of which the sensitivity of the human body to various allergens decreases, so it can be used for allergies.

Eggshell with lemon from a lack of calcium in the body

The use of eggshells with lemon juice significantly improves the absorption of calcium in the body. This application is especially useful for those who have problems with the gastrointestinal tract (inflammation, dysbacteriosis, etc.), which makes it difficult for calcium to be absorbed in the intestines.

Lemon juice can help alleviate this problem. It is enough to add 2-3 drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the crushed powder, mix to make a slurry and consume immediately. This application is convenient because it does not depend on food intake.

Lemon juice can be replaced with freshly prepared juices from cranberries, viburnum, cherries or apple cider vinegar.

Who should not use eggshells?

Are there any contraindications for eating eggshells? Yes, I have. Don't Eat Eggshells

  • patients with thrombophlebitis, atherosclerosis, hypertension, disorders in the work of the heart,
  • with an excess of vitamin D,
  • with urine and cholelithiasis, the use of eggshells can exacerbate the course of the disease,
  • patients with acute or chronic gastritis also, you should not use the shell due to the fact that it can injure and cause bleeding of the gastric mucosa.

And yet, despite a number of positive properties, eggshells should be consumed only after consulting with your doctor. Remember that this is not a panacea, with treatment it will have healing effect only in combination with essential drugs. And with a preventive purpose in the absence of contraindications, its use depends only on you.

If you lack calcium, and you are forced to buy expensive drugs to make up for its lack in the body, remember that you have a more affordable and completely safe alternative - eggshells. The benefits and harms of any substance are determined by its recommended dose. Even a natural and seemingly completely neutral drug, if not observed, can adversely affect the human body. Next, we will look at how to take eggshells, talk about what properties it has and reveal the secret of its positive effect on the body.

Healing properties of the shell: revealing folk secrets

Eggshell is a pantry useful substances which has been in use for many years. In addition to a high percentage of calcium, the shell contains more than 30 minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, silicon. Moreover, all these elements are in the most convenient form for absorption by the body. After entering the intestines, they are quickly absorbed and absorbed.

Eggshells are used for bones, because it makes them stronger, helps to grow together faster after fractures. It is important to remember that eggshell as a source of calcium and other macronutrients can only be used if it is correct dosage.

How to prepare and take eggshells?

To begin with, it should be noted that the shell of any poultry - chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, quails, pigeons - can be used as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent. And its shade does not matter and does not affect the amount of useful substances. Of course, it is recommended to use exclusively fresh domestic eggs, since they contain all the "usefulness" to the maximum. To prepare remedy from an eggshell, you need to perform a number of simple steps.

  1. Wash the eggs thoroughly with warm water and laundry soap, it is advisable to rub them well with a brush.
  2. Pour out all the contents, and boil the shell itself or soak for 30 minutes in a glass of water with a tablespoon of soda. After that, the shell should be dried. In hot weather, in the sun, on the hob or in the oven - but the temperature should not exceed 50 degrees. The benefits and harms of eggshells directly depend on the correctness of its preparation, because it allows you to get rid of the main negative factor of eggs - salmonellosis. That is why it is impossible to neglect heat treatment!
  3. Grind dry shells to a powder, for which you can use a porcelain mortar or a spice grinder with glass knives. It is important not to use metal objects for grinding, as contact with them reduces the effectiveness of some minerals.

Already ground shells can be consumed with food, added to drinks, or packaged in capsules for medicines.

The most common uses

  1. Egg shell with lemon excellent tool to eliminate calcium deficiency, as well as cleansing the body, which can be given even to children. To prepare this medicine, it is necessary to add lemon juice to the already crushed shell until a slurry is formed.
  2. Eggshell for allergies can be used at any age, and for more effective treatment, it can be mixed with milk instead of water.
  3. Eggshell for fractures is a highly effective remedy that allows several times to accelerate the process of fusion. You need to take half a teaspoon of shell powder 2-3 times a day until there are no symptoms.

And of course, eggshells are indispensable during pregnancy, because with its help you can completely compensate for the loss of calcium and at the same time not worry about the health of the child, because the shell is a completely natural product!

Eggshell in the treatment and prevention of diseases

What is the benefit of egg shells? It contains 90% calcium, which is fully absorbed at any age. The daily dose of this useful element is high, since calcium is important for the normal course metabolic processes. Each environment of our body is involved in chemical reactions, while consuming calcium. If there is not enough element in the body, Negative consequences: problems with teeth, dull and falling hair and other ailments.

For reference! Calcium deficiency is the first reason for the development of vegetative-vascular dystonia, which is one of the most common and dangerous diseases.

It is extremely important to use eggshells for expectant mothers, young children, nursing mothers, women during menopause. A child should normally receive 400-800 mg of calcium daily. In an adult, the dose, as a rule, exceeds the children's figure several times. daily rate you can provide by using, for example, 1 kilogram of cottage cheese. Will you absorb dairy products by the kilo? It is unlikely that this is possible within the framework of a standard diet. And here the shell comes to the rescue.

Benefits and harms: a complete list

If we are talking about doses, then we should remember that an excess of calcium is even more harmful than its temporary lack. Excess substances settle in the form of stones, disrupt the passage of a nerve impulse to muscle fibers.

How to drink eggshells to take advantage of only positive properties drug and enrich the body with natural calcium? A baby is given a ground shell at the tip of a knife; for an older child, this dose is doubled. If your child is often sick or does not grow well, think of such a remedy as eggshells. For children, there is nothing better than natural, natural supplements. The average dose of the drug for adults is one quarter of a teaspoon.

Eggshell powder can be added to food, baby food, washed down with water. One course of taking the drug is 30 days. After that, a break is made with the subsequent resumption of the course.

Remember that when taking eggshells, you should control the intake of foods rich in calcium. Focus on your well-being, listen to how the body reacts to the introduction of the drug into the diet. Under the condition of a sound, balanced approach, the enrichment of nutrition with rapidly digestible calcium will only benefit both the adult and the child. For maximum results, it is good to diversify your diet with foods rich in vitamin D, and get sunbathing. In this case, calcium saturation will occur faster and more efficiently.

Eggshell for your beauty

To strengthen the body not only from the inside, but also from the outside, masks are made, which include eggshells. For hair, a mask based on cucumber and olive oil is used. It has a positive effect on the structure of curls, strengthens them, gives the hair splendor and elasticity.

To prepare the base composition, take a cucumber, cut into small pieces, mash them to a liquid state and combine with eggshell powder. Add olive oil to the resulting slurry. It remains only to apply it to the hair and wait a bit. Wash off the mask after 20 minutes. warm water and shampoo. You just have to enjoy the result!

Please note that you can strengthen your hair according to this scheme no more than 2 times a month.

So, calcium can be called one of the most important elements for the healthy functioning of the body. It is the main material for strong bones, teeth, hair. Many foods are filled with calcium, but only eggshells can quickly make up for its deficiency. The benefits and harms of this a simple product has been studied all over the world for a long time and most doctors say that the shell can be called the safest dietary supplement.

Part III

magic shell

Are Coral Calcium and Eggshell Twins? Surprising but true. These calcium preparations were created by nature itself, and with exceptional talent, by setting up a whole factory in the body to create organic matter. The chemical composition of both coral calcium and eggshell ideally coincides, the formation of calcium carbonate in a living organism proceeds in the same way. In addition, when reacting with water, the calcium in these preparations acquires an ionic form, and the ions are ideally absorbed by the body. Let's see and compare what it is - coral calcium and eggshell.

The chemical composition of the eggshell

The shell of bird eggs consists of 90 percent calcium carbonate, and this calcium carbonate, unlike chalk, is absorbed almost completely due to the fact that the synthesis in the bird's body from organic calcium to inorganic has already taken place. In addition, the shell contains all the trace elements necessary for the body, including copper, fluorine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, selenium, zinc and others - a total of 27 elements!

Once in the human body, natural calcium carbonate easily binds with phosphorus and forms calcium phosphates, which are used to build teeth and bones.

The ideal assimilation of the eggshell by the body is predetermined by nature itself. The production of shells in the body of a bird is similar to a children's designer - calcium ions from the blood plasma, as in the designer, are assembled into a single predetermined system, and therefore, they will also disintegrate easily, with the same elements and will also simply enter the blood plasma.

Calcium ions are of a size that allows them to easily enter and exit the human cell, leaving a whole chain of important nutrients in it, and following the next, which resembles a kind of "funicular". This makes it possible to strengthen the intercellular membrane, makes it impermeable to viruses, radionuclides, and therefore strengthens the viability of the entire human body.

Living "factory" for the production of calcium

Have you ever wondered how wise and jewelry accurate nature is? After all, what is it worth to reproduce the process of shell formation in the body of a bird? Scientists have calculated and decided that it is a colossal cost - to recreate inorganic ions from organic calcium. It must be a whole chemical mega-complex and then without a guarantee. And for a laying hen - this is one day and a handful of feed. So, how does the process of shell formation occur in the body of a bird?

The shell of eggs is composed of calcite, one of the crystalline forms of calcium carbonate. Raw materials for calcite crystals - calcium ions and carbonate ions - come from blood plasma. The "womb" of birds is very abundantly supplied with vessels. Careful measurements have shown that blood calcium drops as blood passes through the uterus during shell formation and does not change when the egg is not in the "womb".

During the breeding season, the concentration of calcium in the blood of females is much higher than that of males and non-breeding birds. And the excess of calcium in females is almost entirely associated with complex proteins, which are also one of constituent parts egg yolk and which are synthesized in the liver.

With the passage of blood through the "womb" in the plasma, the concentration of both calcium associated with a complex protein and calcium in the form of ions decreases. These two forms of calcium are in balance with each other, and it seems that the concentration of the ionic form is restored by calcium bound to the protein.

Carbonate ions owe their origin to enzymes that are different in different birds, which are found in large quantities in the cells lining the walls of the "womb". Sulfanilamide preparations, especially some of them, very strongly suppress the activity of these enzymes, respectively - and the formation of calcified shells.

If a bird becomes ill during the breeding season and will be treated sulfa drugs, especially in doses higher than necessary, the thickness of the shell of her eggs will decrease. Even an egg devoid of shell can form.

The immediate source of calcium is the blood, and the primary source is food. However, when the rate of absorption of calcium by the “womb” becomes greater than the rate of its entry from the intestine into the blood, the deficiency is replenished by the release of calcium from the bones of the skeleton.

Birds are able to mobilize up to 10 percent of their bone material in less than a day: special formations have arisen in the cavities of most of their bones for this purpose. But only females have such formations, and they appear only during the breeding season, more precisely, at its very beginning.

During egg laying, a special bone substance is either quickly destroyed or quickly restored. This is most likely controlled by the parathyroid glands, whose task is to regulate the concentration of calcium ions.

Therefore, if a bird has deviations in the work of the parathyroid glands, it may also have difficulty in laying eggs.

Calcium metabolism in birds is also violated by pesticides - pesticides for weed and pest control, among them - the famous DDT, notorious. Even very small amounts of these substances, found in the bird's food or used to kill insects in the cage, cause shell thinning.

Egg shells have been examined and tested

Eggshells have probably been adopted by healers and healers ever since the first hen laid the first egg in the chicken coop. And maybe even earlier, given, according to the biologist A. O. Skvortsov, the behavior of wild animals - for example, foxes and ferrets, which, climbing into the chicken coop, not only turn the heads of chickens, but also like to eat fresh testicles. Moreover, the biologist notes, it is the shell that is cleaned clean, probably it is the shell that attracts predators more than the contents of the egg itself. Yes, and squirrels, fluffy vegetarians, are not averse to climbing into the nest of a bird to steal an egg and gnaw on the shell. Monkeys and dogs eat shells with great pleasure, but, however, only when they really lack calcium in the body. The biologist gives an example when the zoo added crushed shells to the monkeys' food, and the females ate the food clean. And for some reason, the males ignored the food, just touching it.

Eggshell attracted medical interest only in the middle of the 20th century. For the first time, studies of the healing properties of the shell were carried out by Hungarian chemists and physicians - and were amazed by the results. But Hungarian medicine became interested in this fact only theoretically, and practical developments and research were carried out in Europe (Belgium and the Netherlands), clinical trials at the official level were held in New York medical center at the Clinical Orthopedic Hospital. There it was confirmed that the uniqueness of the eggshell is in its "natural nature".

Polish naturopaths and Russian healers became interested in the properties of eggshells. We became interested precisely by analogy with the over-advertised coral calcium. Moscow healer Vladimir Mironov writes: "... in terms of healing properties, coral calcium is by no means superior to ordinary eggshells." According to studies, the healer claims that "it is the eggshell that deserves such admiration, and not coral calcium, since it is much cheaper and more effective."

But it was its general availability and cheapness that prevented the shell from becoming the "hit" of the season. Coral calcium is both exotic and relatively inaccessible (it is claimed that only the Sango species is used for industrial development) and, therefore, high cost, which plays into the hands of pharmaceutical companies.

Which shell is suitable for treatment?

Dutch scientists claim that the composition of microelements (the highest presence of selenium and magnesium) is the most valuable in quail shells. And it is easier to digest than chicken shells. The only drawback is the tiny eggs and no less tiny shells. Quail egg shell preparations are very expensive. But if it is possible to use quail shells (from poultry), then this, of course, is ideal.

In second place is the shell of chicken eggs. This is the cheapest option - there are a lot of shells everywhere. In composition, they also duplicate quail eggs, except perhaps a little less. percentage composition some minerals.

It is better not to use the shell of duck and goose eggs - it is often infected. But it is ideally suited for fertilizing the soil.

Shell wild birds also identical in composition. quail eggs, but it should not be used either due to infection.

Does the color of the shell matter?

Everyone knows perfectly well that eggshells can be white and light brown. And even individual healers are trying to give advice that only one color of the shell can be suitable for use - white. Why? None of them gives a more or less competent answer to this.

The color of the shell does not matter in the slightest. The brownish color of the egg is due to a slight pigmentation, that is, it is clear that its producer is a chicken with a colored plumage - pockmarked, black, brown. Just like in humans - white-skinned parents give birth to babies with skin like; milk, and swarthy parents will give their child a tanned skin. This pigment in no way affects the healing properties of the shell. And nowhere in the scientific literature is there any reference to the predominant use of white eggs.

Is it necessary to apply raw shell?

To prepare calcium water, it is better to use boiled egg shells.

Reminder!

Calcining and boiling do not radically change the healing properties of the eggshell.

"Calcium water" of Polish naturopaths

Polish naturopaths took a slightly different path. Dr. Vaclav Kreshnik took the study of the Japanese professor Kobayashi as a basis and began to compare not the chemical composition of coral and eggshells, but water with coral calcium and eggshells dissolved in it, that is, their effect on the acid-base balance.

It turned out that the eggshell not only has all the properties of coral calcium, but acts even more actively!

Placed in any non-carbonate liquid, eggshell powder instantly enters into a combination with it and gives it its unique properties within 3–5 minutes: not only does it make it crystal clear of all impurities (including chlorine and heavy metals), but also saturates it with calcium ions.

Such "shell-calcium" water, just like "coral" water, very effectively solves the problems associated with calcium deficiency. Calcium contained in water is quickly and easily absorbed by the body, since it is in an ionic form, ready for absorption. At the same time, it perfectly purifies water: it deactivates chlorine, absorbs salts of heavy metals and harmful microorganisms, that is, acting on water, it effectively reduces its harmful effects. When exposed to water, the shell turns it into an alkaline, that is, it can increase the level pH pH up to 9.8–10.0 units. The use of such water due to the alkalinization of the body provides a better absorption of the components entering it and, which is very important, the absorption of oxygen in an alkaline environment increases many times over.

The dynamics of the impact of coral calcium and eggshell on tap water

Shell + fish oil = health formula

The Polish doctor proceeded from the fact that coral is a polyp, a living organism that actively accumulates iodine, like any creature, be it squid, crabs or sea fish. Corals are usually found in warm coastal waters, where literally everything is saturated with iodine, so the iodine content in corals is second only to seaweed - kelp.

It is known from the course of chemistry that calcium is most readily absorbed by the body when there is enough vitamin D in it. Therefore, the scientist concluded that the success of coral calcium is that it saturates the body with iodine and promotes faster ion absorption of calcium.

Dr. Kreshnik decided to test his theory on experimental chickens, which always willingly peck at eggshells. Only this time he began to fill the eggshell with fish oil (and, as you know, this product contains enough iodine and natural vitamin D). Mr. Vatslav was convinced by experience that the chickens of the control group began to really differ from the rest of the chickens - the skeleton is more powerful, the egg production has doubled, the chickens are no longer susceptible to viral diseases. Based on this, the doctor concluded that the eggshell + fish oil formula is absolutely similar to coral calcium and, perhaps, even surpasses it in effectiveness.

Calcium water, says Dr. Vaclav, can be taken in parallel with the intake fish oil and, if necessary, add iodine-containing tablets.

Now in Poland, the production of water filters has already been launched, which have the lowest layer of eggshell. Here, the property of calcium is used to retain salts of heavy metals and chlorine and, in addition, to calcinate water in an easily digestible form - ionic.

How to be treated with calcium water

The introduction of calcium water into food showed its high therapeutic activity and the absence of contraindications and any side effects, including bacterial contamination.

Calcium water is especially useful for young children, because in their body the processes of formation bone tissue go most intensively and require an uninterrupted supply of calcium.

When I gave birth to my second son, I was just working on the materials for this book and became seriously interested in the properties of eggshells. The boy was allergic to almost everything, from two months he was artificial, and therefore I perfectly understood that, receiving only the mixture (even the absolutely wonderful Lactofidus mixture), he would begin to lack calcium, so I decided that I needed to give crushed eggshell. But with children, this is not so easy to do - infants practically do not absorb calcium preparations, they do not produce enough hydrochloric acid to do this. And it is completely useless to mix calcium preparations into the mixture, and even eggshells too. But "egg-calcium" water is really a real find. I did it this way - I bought drinking water "Winnie" or "Rosinka" and threw the shells crushed and freed from the inner film to the bottom of the container (the film must be removed very carefully, and the shell should be crushed, on the contrary, not carefully. Usually two or three boiled shells are enough eggs.) On this water, I prepared a mixture for a baby from two months. I was surprised by the result myself - the baby himself began to sit at four and a half months. Got up at five and a half, and went at eight. And how he went - he ran! An orthopedic doctor came home specially, who measured and examined the baby, as he said - for the sole purpose of prohibiting walking too early. But he himself was amazed by the magnificent development of the musculoskeletal system and even inserted our “phenomenon” as an example in his dissertation. This, I believe, is entirely the merit of "egg-calcium" water.

Shell water, included in baby food, has an extremely beneficial effect on rickets and anemia that develops in parallel with rickets.

Calcium water is absorbed much better than crushed regular eggshells. In order for the body to more readily absorb calcium, eggshells are washed down with lemon juice (that is, citric acid). Goes normal chemical reaction with emphasis carbon dioxide(and calcium carbonate is calcium carbonate) and the formation of a new salt - calcium citrate, which actively releases ions. And this calcium citrate is ideally absorbed by the body. And anyone - and weakened, and children, with diseases of the pancreas and gallbladder. This calcium does not crystallize, which makes ordinary calcium carbonate, therefore, when taking eggshells, you can not be afraid that the excess will be deposited on the bones and joints, and not be afraid of urolithiasis. If it is not needed, it is ideally excreted from the body.

Calcium water does not need additional acidification. Just like an eggshell, it helps to activate hematopoiesis in bone tissue.

In both children and adults, the use of calcium water has a positive effect on brittle nails and hair, bleeding from the gums, constipation, irritability, insomnia, hay fever, asthma, urticaria. It alkalizes the body and, therefore, heals it. Recent studies directly link calcium deficiency to disease of cardio-vascular system therefore, eggshell prophylaxis will also be very useful. Restores the eggshell and the activity of the hair follicles - the hair stops falling out and begins to grow rapidly (this does not apply to androgenetic alopecia).

But the main thing, both Hungarian and Belgian researchers advise, is prevention:

Shell water can be used during pregnancy;

Extremely valuable for children preschool age;

Desirable in adolescence and youth (up to 19-20 years old);

Prophylactically twice a year, shell therapy is useful for adults in order to prevent diseases of the spine, dental caries and osteoporosis in the elderly;

Indispensable for people engaged in heavy physical labor;

It is necessary for athletes, especially those involved in bodybuilding.

Calcium water is an excellent tool for removing radionuclides from the body. It can be effectively used in foci of radiation contamination, because it prevents the accumulation of strontium-90 in the bone marrow.

How to prepare "shell-calcium" water

Boil eggs, remove inner surface shell whitish film (if this is not done, the water will bad smell rotting and sweetish-sugary taste - this will be to the taste of indoor flowers, but no one else). Grind the shell and pour drinking water. A three-liter jar usually has enough shells of two or three eggs.

(I usually do this - I put the crushed shell on the bottom of the water filter jug and just pour water there. This shell can lie for a week or two, then I wash the filter jug and put a new shell on the bottom of the container. - Note by the author)

This water can be used for tea, coffee, soups and for any dishes.

When to Take Calcium Water

It has long been noted that the most healthy people live in the highlands. These are the centenarians of the Caucasus, the Hunza in Pakistan, the peoples living in Tibet, and the natives of Titicaca in South America. It has always been believed that they have a special diet, some means that prolong life and improve health. But no one could find something radical and common for everyone until limnologists (scientists who study the properties of water) took up this problem. It was they who suggested that what unites all centenarians is the water they drink and the high intake of calcium, and this calcium comes to them with water. The water they drink is formed when glaciers melt, then this water flows down the mountains and becomes cloudy. People call this water "the milk of the mountains." What we have in Japan is very similar to this. Yes, they do not have mountains, but what they drink can be called "milk of the sea." The water seeping through the corals is similar in chemical composition to the water that mountain centenarians receive. But the most amazing thing about this whole story, why there are so many documented centenarians among these peoples, is that they not only consume calcium, but also absorb it. Calcium is very difficult to digest. When calcium enters your body, it is most likely that it most of will turn into calcium phosphate and will be removed from the body as slag. To convert calcium into an ionic form and subsequent absorption, the stomach will need a titanic effort to produce a large number of hydrochloric acid. Coral calcium is already in ionic form and instantly begins to be absorbed by the body. Also, the shell is already in ionic form, and calcium water is absorbed by the body much easier and even better than from crushed eggshells.

Do not confuse "calcium water" and hard water. Calcium water is calcium citrate in an easily digestible ionic form, hard water is other calcium salts that are not absorbed by the body.

Contraindications for taking "egg-calcium water"

Contraindications can only be diseases associated with an excess of calcium in the body.

With excessive intake of calcium salts inside, its increased absorption from the intestine or reduced excretion through the kidneys, the concentration of calcium in the blood plasma may increase. Hypercalcemia develops, which in especially severe cases leads to calcification (salt deposition) in various tissues and organs. Hypercalcemia can also be the result of an increased intake of vitamin D. Its manifestations are loss of appetite, stunting of children, vomiting, constipation and other disorders associated with a sharp increase in calcium absorption from the intestine. But it must be said that hypercalcemia is enough rare disease, and in our region it is possible and necessary to talk about calcium deficiency, and not redundancy.

The body's response to excess calcium

Too much calcium in the cells connective tissue partially dehydrates them, as a result of which the cells wither, their physiological activity decreases.

The nervous system becomes more excitable.

Urolithiasis develops. The formation of kidney stones is associated with the formation of insoluble calcium and magnesium salts: oxalates, urates (salts uric acid), etc. With insufficient functioning of the enzyme xanthine oxidase containing molybdenum, the concentration of urates locally increases. They have the ability to deposit and concentrate in the joint fluid, in cartilage, reducing their mobility and causing a disease - gout.

How to reduce the level of calcium in the body

Drinking water containing a small amount of calcium (i.e., soft). Such water is easily absorbed by body tissues and flushes the body well from excess calcium. Distilled water is ideal in this regard. It is perfectly absorbed by the body and is a good solvent for many waste products of the body and all minerals, including calcium. It removes excess calcium from the body. But it should be consumed no more than two months, because the necessary substances can also be excreted.

Folk recipes

In folk medicine, you can find a lot of recipes, one of the components of which is the eggshell itself.

Here folk recipe for the treatment of asthma - free the shell of 10 raw eggs from the inner film, dry, grind into powder, pour the juice of 10 lemons and put in a dark place for 10 days. Strain the resulting mixture through cheesecloth and mix with another composition, which is prepared as follows: beat 10 yolks with 10 tbsp. l. sugar and pour a bottle of cognac into the resulting eggnog. Mix the finished medicine thoroughly and take 30 ml 3 times a day half an hour before meals. There should be improvement soon. If necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated, avoiding a break.

Shell chicken egg, fried to a yellowish color and powdered, treats "hungry" pains and just stomach pains. Take 1 time per day before meals for 10 days. By modern ideas, has antacid action.

“Egg shells, crushed into powder and drunk with grape wine, stop diarrhea,” says an old medical book.

Egg shells, dried and ground in a coffee grinder into a fine powder, can be used as a powder when opening burns with blisters.

Advice from an old medical book: to crush stones in the kidneys and bladder, you need to crush the shell of an egg from which a chicken has just hatched into powder, and drink this shell with grape wine. It is necessary to take about 10 g every day.

Pounded eggshells were applied to ulcers, taken orally for many diseases: in Russian villages, whispering grandmothers always ordered mothers to feed children under two years of age with such a powder. And babies, if mother's milk not enough, drink cow's milk, diluted with water, infused with clean (without an inner film) eggshells. Rachitic and scrofulous children were also given the same water to drink.

V. V. Karavaev, who developed his own system of healing the body, recommends taking crushed eggshells inside to normalize the alkaline-acid balance. You can use the shell only from raw eggs. Washed for an hour cold water and then calcined. Store the shell in a glass jar with a lid, but not in a plastic bag. Before you start taking the shell, you need to pay attention to which of your nostrils breathes easier. If the left - you are shown the reception of the shell, if the right - the shell should not be taken. (It should be noted that, despite the seeming paradoxical nature of Karavaev’s advice, they are based on a rather serious scientific rationale.) Healthy people should also take the shell, but only when they feel especially good, feel cheerful and good mood.

So that there is no smell after a week of infusion, you need to carefully peel off the inner white film and ignite the shells on a baking sheet, then in the evening, watching TV, make nail baths. Already in 10 days you can see the result - the nails will stop exfoliating.

In addition, fashionistas can be given separate advice - take eggshell once a day at night for 1/3 teaspoon and 2 capsules of fish oil from November to March - and your hair and nails will be just excellent!

The ability of calcium to alkalize has been intuitively known for a very long time; it is not without reason that crushed eggshells are used on acidic lands. Under the influence of calcium, the soil becomes alkaline and gives high yields. And the best fertilizer for home flowers is calcium water.

As a child, I was always surprised when I came to visit my classmate - it’s winter outside, and violets bloom on their windowsill, the flowers not only didn’t wither and seemed to hide until spring, like ours, but, on the contrary, absorb the winter unkind sun and even more actively begin to throw out brand new green leaves. Everything turned out to be very simple, in the kitchen of my girlfriend's mother there was a treasured three-liter jar of eggshells - they threw the shells left after scrambled eggs and omelettes there, and then poured them with water. This water was used to water the flowers. How: as soon as I shared this secret with my mother, we also had not just a window sill with flowers, but a real winter garden. And even remontant strawberries managed to grow and get berries for the New Year. And everything is very simple - calcium alkalizes the soil, the films inside the shell are organic fertilizer, and therefore the growth of flowers even in winter is completely conditioned.

"Witch's tears" take in the summer

There is a wonderful remedy that it would be desirable to use for seasoning in many dishes - salads, borscht, meat and fish dishes: the Belgians call this seasoning rather strangely - “witch's tears”. One can only guess why this name came about, but Dr. van Derrick believes that earlier in the villages there was a belief that if a witch tries such a dish, she begins to sob with bitter tears and will shy away from this house in the future. And the drug is really useful and completely replaced calcium preparations for the Belgians.

This seasoning is prepared as follows: place the pre-washed shell in a jar with a small amount of apple cider vinegar or citric acid solution (it is better to take lemon juice) for 8-12 hours. The liquid should cover the shell. The eggshell will not completely dissolve, but the calcium contained in it will go into an acid solution. Apple vinegar or citric acid fortified with calcium should be added to salads, soups and other dishes. Immediately before use, a little of this seasoning should be poured into a cup and a gruel of fresh garlic should be added there. Mix everything and season salads or dishes.

This remedy is best and easiest to use in the summer.

What kind of calcium does the body need? First of all, it is easily digestible. You can take calcium gluconate for years and not get an ounce of the desired result, you can take synthetic calcium phosphates with the same success - although percentage calcium in them is different. But there are only two organic preparations, the assimilation of which takes place with the greatest efficiency - eggshell and coral calcium (that is, coral polyps). And not a single drug can be compared with them in terms of efficiency and benefits, because in addition to calcium carbonate, which is almost 90 percent in an eggshell, there is also almost the entire periodic table, and coral polyps are drunk with iodine and saturated with sodium.

Eggshell is an important source of minerals and trace elements for the human body. It is especially important to include it in the daily diet when acute shortage calcium. It will become a full-fledged replacement for pharmaceutical calcium-containing supplements. In addition, it is worth figuring out what else is the benefit and harm of eggshells in order to use it as efficiently as possible.

The chemical composition of the eggshell

  • water;
  • inorganic and nitrogenous components;
  • micro and macro elements;
  • vitamins.

The benefits of eggshell for the human body

The shells are 92% calcium carbonate, which is easier and faster absorbed by the body than calcium chloride. This macronutrient is extremely useful for humans, as a stimulant for the full functioning of vital important organs and systems.

Compared to synthetic counterparts, crushed eggshells are safer, with virtually no side effects.

Additional health benefits of eggshells:

  • helps to cleanse the body of radionuclides and salts of heavy metals;

Most of us regularly eat eggs and then throw away the eggshells, unaware that they can be taken as a source of calcium. Eggshell Calcium is an ideal balanced composition containing some trace amounts of other minerals as well. Many consider this calcium to be the best and easily digestible source.

Many studies have been carried out on this topic, both here and abroad, which have confirmed that egg shells can be taken as a calcium supplement. Moreover, it does not matter at all from which eggs this shell will be: chicken, goose, duck or other birds. The only warning scientists call the eggs of wild animals, which are more prone to salmonellosis. But poultry should also be kept in good conditions and receive good nutrition.

If you are looking for a natural alternative food additives homemade calcium powder is a great alternative to store-bought supplements. It is very easy to make and cost effective.

Benefits of eggshell

Of course, not all people are unaware of the benefits of eggshells and that they contain good calcium for absorption. Many people know about this and never throw them in the trash, but use them for the benefit of their health.

It is important to understand why egg shells can be a good and healthy addition to your diet. It is equally important to know how to cook and store crushed shells.

The key nutrient in them is calcium or calcium carbonate. In fact, they are made up of 95% calcium carbonate. The composition of eggshells is very similar to our bones and teeth, so it's no surprise that they promote healthy bones and teeth.

Contrary to popular belief, maintaining healthy teeth and bones is not the only function of calcium in our body. It is required to perform muscle function, hormone secretion, nerve transmission, intracellular signals, and heart contractions.

In order to ensure the coordinated work of the whole organism and the performance of all functions by organs, we must maintain an optimal level of calcium and prevent the state when any of them begins to take it from bones and teeth for their work. This can only mean one thing: only bones and teeth and no other organ suffer from its deficiency.

To maintain the level of calcium in the blood and other fluids, bones go through cycles of resorption (destruction) and precipitation (restoration) of calcium throughout a person's life. In children, resorption is lower than deposition, in adults their ratio is equal, and in the elderly, resorption is faster than recovery. Especially in women going through menopause.

The daily calcium requirement for adults under 50 is 1000 mg. People over 50 require 1200 mg of calcium daily.

Now that you know how important calcium is to maintaining your overall health, you may want to consider taking calcium supplements to meet your daily calcium requirement. Consider healthier, more natural options before taking supplements.

Another plus to using egg shells to replenish calcium is saving your money. After all, these supplements are expensive.

How much calcium is in an eggshell

Calcium and magnesium requirements for growth and maintenance healthy body was installed many decades ago. They are important for any age, from the moment the fetus is born to old age. In childhood, calcium helps to form and develop the skeletal system. AT adulthood he needs to maintain it.

The absorption of these substances by our body is not so easy. Most supplements on the market are synthetic and not bioavailable. In fact, taking such supplements can do more harm than good. And here it doesn’t matter how much calcium the manufacturers promise to give from their product, if its result is the deposition of salts and kidney stones, diseases skeletal system and many other degenerative changes.

Nobody denies that most of all nutrients man must get from his food. But is our diet always balanced?

Therefore, we are simply forced to look for more natural products to support our body. In terms of replenishing calcium, eggshells can be a good source to fulfill this goal.

One whole medium eggshell is about one teaspoon of powder, which provides approximately 750-800 mg of elemental calcium plus other trace minerals i.e. magnesium, boron, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, sulfur, silicon, zinc and others. In total, there are 27 of them in the shell. Approximately 40 percent of elemental calcium is absorbed.

Calcium and magnesium need to be taken in at least equal amounts, and some people need more magnesium than calcium, depending on how much calcium they get from their foods.

  1. People who do not consume dairy products other than butter require 300 mg of calcium twice a day. Therefore, you need to take a little less than 1/2 teaspoon of eggshell twice a day. Also take 300 mg of magnesium citrate twice a day at the same time. Do not take more than 500 mg of calcium at a time because the body is unable to absorb more at one time.
    However, people who consume dairy other than butter may not be able to take calcium, which depends on how much milk they drink daily, but they still need to take 350mg of magnesium citrate per day.
  2. If you are a sardine lover and eat a whole can every day (contains 300 mg of calcium), you only need to take 300 mg of calcium once a day along with 300 mg of magnesium citrate twice a day.
  3. If your menu contains 4 cups of bone broth daily (which is unlikely), you don't need to take either calcium or magnesium at all.

It is best to take calcium and magnesium with meals so that they are better absorbed. The best absorption will be if you drink them with sour fruit drinks, compote, juice, which are rich in vitamin C.

We must not forget that vitamin D is also very important for the absorption of minerals, vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acids. The best source of these three nutrients is cod liver oil.

In addition, sodium and chloride (salt) are important for absorption. When used sea salt it can additionally enrich the body with many important micro and macro elements. In total, it contains about 84 of them. The norm of salt per day is considered to be from 1 to 1.5 teaspoons, divided into three portions, i.e. for every meal.

How to prepare calcium from eggshells

So, let's see how you can prepare eggshell calcium and how to consume it. When taking eggshells, it is important that they are properly prepared and that there is no risk of infection. Fortunately, it is not all that difficult and does not require much time.

The cooking process is very simple.

Boil eggshells for about 5 minutes to clean the shells and remove bacteria.

Important: Do not remove the membrane as this part of the shell is rich in nutrients.

Lay it out and dry.

Place dry shells on a baking sheet and place in the oven. Soak them there for about 10 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees to dry better and kill all possible bacteria.

You can skip this step if you are sure that after boiling the shell is cleaned and disinfected well. Drying in the oven will make it more brittle, making it easier to grind further.

Grind in a coffee grinder until you get a beautiful powdery substance. Almost powder.

You can then store the powder in a container with a lid and use it whenever you want!

You can grind in a blender, with a rolling pin, placing the shell in a plastic bag, in a mortar. The main thing is that it is well ground and does not contain pieces of shell that can hurt inside.

In general, everyone prepares differently. If this method seems to someone long or not entirely reliable, then you can use another.

Wash the empty eggshell in warm water until all egg white will not be removed, but do not remove the membrane because it contains important nutrients for the joints.

Place the clean pieces on paper towels and let them air dry.

Break the eggshells into small pieces and grind them into a fine powder in a food processor, blender, coffee grinder, or nut grinder. Or put them in a plastic bag and use a rolling pin to grind.

Note that some blenders will not grind eggshells into a fine enough grind. Yet the coffee grinder is the most reliable device for this purpose.

Store in a closed glass jar or container in a dry place such as a cupboard.

Before preparing the powder, you can wash the shell with natural or laundry soap, hold in soda solution(1 tsp per 250 grams of water).

You can dry it in the oven, in a pan. You don't need to add oil. Some dry in the microwave.

How to take eggshell

Eggshells do not mix with any liquids. No matter how much you stir it, it will still settle to the bottom of a mug or glass.

Instead, take the shell powder and pour it into a tablespoon or dessert spoon.

Add some warm water and stir.

Take a supplement. Instead of water, you can take juice, for example, orange.

You can add shell powder to cocktails (again, note that it does not dissolve), other drinks.

Someone sprinkles it on pasta, pizza and other dishes.

How much to take? It was said above how much calcium is contained in one shell and what is the rate of calcium intake. Based on these data, the standard dosage is half a teaspoon.

Egg shell with lemon

There is a second way to take eggshells - with lemon juice. How to prepare such a source of calcium from egg shells?

Option 1. Take required amount powder and pour it into a small container or saucer.

Squeeze out lemon juice. It should completely cover all the powder.

You will see that the reaction has gone: it will begin to bubble and foam. Close the lid and leave for 6-8 hours. But no more than 12 hours.

Take the supplement with water. Be sure to take 400 mg of magnesium citrate right away.

Option 2. According to the second option, the supplement is prepared from a whole egg. It needs to be washed well. Can be washed with soap and dried with a tissue or paper towel. The egg must be free of cracks.

Place in a wide-mouthed container.

Squeeze out the lemon juice so that most of the egg is covered by the juice.

Cover the jar with a lid and place in the refrigerator.

Keep 36-48 hours. Gently turn the egg several times a day.

When the time is up, take the egg out and discard it. Be very careful not to damage the thin membrane that remains after the shell dissolves.

In order to determine how much calcium you need to take in this form, it is better to cook for one serving the first time and then calculate for a larger amount.

How else to use eggshells

If you prefer not to eat eggshells, you don't need to replenish calcium, or if you have too many of them, here are some more tips to correct use your eggshells.

Use for compost

If you make your compost at home, the calcium and minerals from the eggshell can make it much richer. It's better than just throwing them away!

For dry skin

The egg membrane is said to be very good for dry skin. Just carefully separate it from the shell and place it on the skin where it is dry. Leave it there until dry. It is said to help with minor skin lesions.

Give it to the chickens

Chickens need calcium. Therefore, if you keep chickens at home, give them to them. Just grind it enough.

Like fertilizer in your garden

Eggshells can repel some garden pests. Sprinkle it around the plants.

How effective is the role of the shell from pests is an open question. But the fact that it is an excellent fertilizer, especially for tomatoes, is for sure. Introduce the shell into the hole before planting and let it slowly dissolve into the ground.

Make coffee taste sweet

Some people think that it improves the taste of coffee, making it less bitter. When brewing coffee, just add some ground shells.

Give it to the birds

Dried in a frying pan or oven, egg shells will be pecked with pleasure by birds. Pour them into the feeders, after breaking into small pieces.

Eggshell harm and contraindications

The key to eating eggshells and other calcium-rich foods is moderation. Egg shells are extremely rich in calcium. Therefore, it is definitely not recommended to start eating it, as if your life depends only on it. If there is enough calcium in the body, then it can only bring harm.

Reception is contraindicated at:

oncological diseases;

prostate disease;

gallstone or urolithiasis;

Exacerbation of diseases of the stomach and duodenum (gastritis, ulcer);

The presence of intestinal obstruction (even partially);

problems with the heart (arrhythmia, dysfunction of the heart);

hypertension;

Be sure to consult a doctor if you have some diseases of the nervous system.

There is a risk of injury internal organs with poor grinding. To avoid it, it is better to sift the ground shells through a strainer.

Someone may have an individual intolerance, in which case it should not be taken either. When in doubt about salmonellosis infection, it is better not to risk it.

While taking eggshell powder, limit the consumption of alcoholic beverages, coffee and drinks containing caffeine, carbonated drinks.

And don't forget that best sources of all nutrients are foods. Include cottage cheese, milk, dairy products, cheese, which contain enough calcium.
