The main principle of treating this disease is diet.

Typically, constipation occurs in people with chronic diseases intestines.

Basic Rules

The purpose of a diet for constipation is to normalize intestinal function, in particular, its regular emptying and ridding the body of toxic metabolic products. Therefore, the diet is aimed at increasing daily ration vitamins, fluids, minerals and, of course, plant fiber.

According to Pevzner’s classification, the diet for constipation corresponds to treatment table No. 3.

The energy value of the diet corresponds to 3000-3500 kilocalories per day.

Basic diet rules for constipation:

  • food processing;
    For constipation, it is recommended to eat boiled, steamed and baked food, but without crust (in foil). For atonic constipation, food should be prepared in portions and not crushed in order to enhance intestinal motility. It is better to exclude minced meat and puree products, since such food does not stimulate intestinal motility. And with spastic constipation, food should, on the contrary, be soft so as not to provoke abdominal pain.
  • diet;
    Food should be taken in small portions: 5-6 times a day in small portions. This promotes better bowel function.
  • food temperature;
    Diet should be adhered to temperature regime: eat food heated to 15-60 degrees Celsius. Too cold and too hot dishes have an irritating effect on the stomach, which, in turn, negatively affects the functioning of the intestines.
  • refusal of alcoholic drinks;
    If you have constipation or are prone to it, you should refrain from alcoholic drinks, as they act as diuretics. Frequent consumption of alcohol leads to dehydration of the body and contributes to the creation of fecal blockages.
  • fluid intake;
    The daily amount of free fluid should reach 1.5-2 liters. For drinks, preference should be given to mineral waters and fruit drinks without sugar. Water softens stool, making bowel movements easier. But it’s better to avoid cocoa, strong coffee and tea.
  • vegetable fiber;
    A diet for constipation includes eating plenty of raw and cooked vegetables and fruits. The plant fiber they contain draws water from the large intestine, which increases the amount of feces, makes them softer, and has a positive effect on intestinal peristalsis, ensures growth intestinal microflora, and also removes toxins from the body.

Authorized Products

Firstly, the list of allowed foods includes those rich in fiber. Fiber is found not only in fresh vegetables and fruits, but also in dried fruits and some types of cereals.

Secondly, the diet for this syndrome should be fortified and rich in microelements, in particular potassium and magnesium. Potassium is responsible for intestinal motility, and magnesium is responsible for the conductivity of its nerve fibers.

We should not forget about fermented milk products. They stimulate the growth of intestinal microflora, which normalizes intestinal motor function. Plant and animal fats envelop the intestinal walls, preventing toxins from “sticking” to them, and ensure gentle evacuation of feces from it.

The treatment table for constipation should contain the optimal amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, since their deficiency aggravates this condition.

The list of permitted products includes:

  • bread products from both rye and wheat flour, but coarsely ground, dry cookies (crackers) in small quantities, unpalatable pastries;
  • soups with vegetable and diluted meat (low-fat) broth, borscht, cabbage soup, beetroot soup, fruit soups;
  • low-fat varieties of poultry, fish and meat (veal, boiled or baked turkey);
  • crumbly porridge from buckwheat, millet, oatmeal, barley groats, boiled in water with milk;
  • fresh vegetables and salads from them, seasoned vegetable oil(beets, cabbage, beans, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, green pea, pumpkin and others);
  • green vegetables that are a source of magnesium (lettuce, celery, broccoli, green beans boiled and others);
  • ripe fruits and berries, fruit drinks, compotes, jams made from them, apples are especially useful;
  • dried fruits, which are a source of microelements, special attention deserves prunes;
  • vegetable oils, butter if tolerated;
  • sour cream, kefir, low-fat cottage cheese, acidophilus;

  • soaked herring, seafood;
  • rosehip tea and wheat bran, vegetable juices;

This happens due to difficulties in bowel movements, pressure on the walls anus. Which one can be effective for constipation? But it turns out to be very simple and does not require any special changes in diet. The main thing in such a diet is to follow four simple rules:

Rule #1.

We eat little and often. Your regimen should consist of 4-5 meals, portions should not exceed the amount that fits in your palms. It is advisable to eat at the same time so that the body gets used to the regime.

Rule #2.

We drink a lot of water. Water is an essential aid for constipation; it helps to liquefy stool and eliminate harmful substances from the body. For constipation and hemorrhoids, the volume of water drunk per day should be at least 2 liters.

Rule #3.

We eat vegetables and fruits. Greens are very good for improving digestion and softening stool. These products allow the body to “tune” its self-cleaning system. In addition, vegetables and fruits are rich in vitamins, which makes the process of cleansing the body gentle and does not weaken important functions.

Rule #4.

We drink milk and kefir. Dairy products also do an excellent job of cleansing the intestines. It is best to choose low-fat kefirs, but at the same time rich in vitamins and life-giving bacteria. It’s good to drink a glass of biokefir at night.
